Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful stay at the Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa. The rooms were extremely clean, spacious, and very well maintained, making our stay very comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious with a great variety of options. A special mention to Chef Raghu, who went out of his way to prepare special Sri Lankan meals for us. The dishes were authentic, flavorful, and truly memorable. His effort and attention to detail made our dining experience even more special. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Their hospitality really made us feel valued throughout our stay. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Weligama. We look forward to visiting again!

The hotel is amazing! The staff are very helpful, the pool is always clean, and the room and bed are wonderful. Truly an exceptional experience. I took off one star because I think the kids’ playroom could be improved with more things. The football table was missing a ball, and in addition – at night it was impossible to sleep! There seems to be music from the nearby area until around 11 PM, so be prepared to bring earplugs if you want to go to sleep early. Other than that – the location is amazing and the hotel is perfect!

This could possibly be the best hotel experience I've ever had. Room is fantastic, clean and stylish. We booked an ocean view room that had the most stunning view. Hotel staff is extremely welcoming and always attentive whenever we had any question or needed any service. Breakfast has tons of variety and delicious. Pool area is clean and relaxing with the amazing beach right next to it. Food delivered up to us by room service was some of the best we've had on our trip in Sri Lanka. Gym is well equipped and clean. The only thing that could be improved is the WiFi which has good connectivity but is extremely slow. We ended up using our mobile esim we bought on arrival at the airport since it was much faster. The TV experience could be improved by giving customers the option to use Netflix. This function was not available on the TV since there is no smart TV function. However, the staff were kind enough to provide us with an hdmi cable so that we could connect our laptop to the TV and stream our shows. Overall this is a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it.

As this was my first visit to Sri Lanka, I was very keen to choose an exceptional hotel, and it truly exceeded my expectations. I have stayed in many resorts around the world, but this is by far one of the best hotels I have ever visited. The hotel boasts a stunning beach, and Weligama Bay is famous for surfing. If you want to learn how to surf, this is absolutely the right place, with gentle and beautiful waves. The swimming pool is excellent, and the restaurants offer a great variety of cuisines. The main restaurant serves a delicious buffet, and the service throughout the hotel is outstanding. I also visited the spa and enjoyed one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I truly recommend this hotel—10 out of 10—and I will definitely be coming back.

We visited Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa on Valentine’s Day for their dinner buffet. As expected, the price was higher in comparison to other similar hotels but the restaurant was fully packed. The decorations were beautiful and the service was impressive, which gave us a great first impression. This was also our first visit, and we had been considering planning a stay there. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The variety was quite limited and there was hardly anything tempting. Although there was a meat corner with different options, everything tasted very similar and bland. The Chinese section had just one rice, one noodle, and one beef dish, which felt underwhelming for a Valentine’s buffet. Some items, like the cheese, were finished and not refilled promptly. We also ordered a white sauce penne pasta from the live station, but the pasta was undercooked and the sauce tasted like plain milk. The desserts looked well presented, but the taste did not live up to the appearance at all. Overall, while the ambiance and service were commendable, the food quality and variety did not meet our expectations for such a special evening.

This is actually one of those hotels that never disappoints me... they somehow manage to keep increasing their Quality in every way. I've been to this multiple times in the last 3 years. Everytime I go the quality keeps increasing. Its amazing to see atleast a few hotels in Srilanka is taking service and quality seriously. 5/5 for me! Super luxury rooms with amazing service. Marriott doesn’t disappoint, also in Sri Lanka! The building boosts beautiful clean and well appointed rooms. All with an ocean view. Staff is attentive and professional. Pool is just fantastic. The in room service is on point. It is expensive but absolutely worth it. Bakery at the ground floor a nice addition!

What a truly brilliant experience we had at Marriott Weligama. I honestly can’t fault a single thing. The rooms are top class, offering stunning views that instantly put you at ease. Every dish we tried was absolutely perfect 👌—the buffet, in particular, had an amazing variety and exceptional quality throughout. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is peaceful, elegant, and classy—exactly what you hope for in a luxury getaway. But the best part by far is the staff. As a frequent traveller, it’s fair to say this was the best service I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. The warmth and genuine care truly stood out. A special mention to Randula from the front desk, and Lakeesha, Lahiru, and Viraj from the restaurant—you all treated us like family. Your hospitality made this stay unforgettable.
