Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa

We had an amazing time at Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa for our honeymoon. Everything was well prepared from the beginning. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated, which made us feel really special. The view of the bay was beautiful and peaceful. A big thank you to “Moneesha” for her great support and kind service. She helped us with everything and made our stay very easy and comfortable. If you want a quiet and luxury place to relax, this is the best place to go!

Weligama Bay Marriott is a modern and luxurious hotel offering breathtaking views of the bay, especially from the balconies during sunset. The pool is uniquely shaped and beautifully designed, making it a highlight of the stay. The food is delicious with a good variety to choose from. Service is efficient and attentive, even when handling large groups — our office trip with over 100 staff members was managed smoothly without any issues. A great choice for both leisure and business stays, combining comfort, stunning views, and professional service seamlessly.

If you want to ruin your vacation, Marriott Weligama is the perfect place. We had a deeply disappointing experience at this property, and I feel compelled to share the details to warn others. First, expect to be charged significantly more than the prices you see—a whopping 28% is added on top of the menu prices (10% service charge + 18% tax), none of which is clearly disclosed upfront. Second, during our stay, a wedding event completely blocked access to the beach. Guests were expected to either wait it out or literally jump through bushes to reach the ocean. The event went on past 10 PM with blaring music, making it impossible to relax. Housekeeping skipped our room entirely on one of the days without explanation. When we asked, there was no apology or offer to make it right. Despite traveling with a child, we were only provided with a limited amount of bottled water, strictly rationed for two adults. Apparently, extra water for children is too much to ask. Finally, the pool area had baffling rules. A light beach ball was banned from use, but guests were allowed to play with plastic water bottles filled with water, which could be much more disruptive. Staff ignored this entirely. Overall, this hotel falls far short of what you’d expect from a Marriott property, both in service and transparency. I would not recommend staying here if you care about your comfort—or your wallet.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Weligama Marriott Resort & Spa, Srilanka during a business trip, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! This resort is a paradise of lush greenery, breathtaking scenery, and ultimate tranquility. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the immaculate hospitality. The rooms were incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and supremely comfortable, offering the perfect retreat after a long day. The view from the room was simply superb. The culinary experience was another highlight—whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was a delight, featuring an array of mouthwatering dishes. The staff deserve special mention; they were not just professional but also genuinely warm, attentive, and eager to make the stay unforgettable. Weligama Marriott is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience! The resort offers a coffee plantation tour, a pristine pool, a well-equipped gym, a rejuvenating spa, and dedicated play areas for both kids and adults. The place is equipped with modern aminities. This was truly a memorable getaway, and I can’t wait to return for another indulgent stay! Highly recommended for anyone looking for luxury, nature, and relaxation all in one place.😊

We stayed at Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa for our office trip, and it was a fantastic experience overall. The rooms were spacious, modern, and offered breathtaking views of the ocean. The pool and beach access were definite highlights, and the staff were professional and courteous throughout our stay. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the breakfast — while it was tasty, the variety was a bit limited compared to other 5-star hotels. That said, we still had a wonderful time and would gladly return!

We had a fabulous stay. We loved the pool, the surfing that was available, and the beach club is only 2 buildings down and the building in between has mini golf. This felt very clean. The staff was welcoming. Beware the spa is definitely in normal US prices. Some other hotels like Radisson have more average tourist prices, but the Marriott spa is $145 average for 90 minute treatment. We overall had a great time and we would stay again.

We visited this hotel for our annual office trip and had an excellent experience. The entire hotel was booked for our group. The rooms were superb—spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The service throughout our stay was outstanding. The buffet was fantastic, offering a wide variety of dishes from different cuisines, including Indian, Chinese, Sri Lankan, Italian, etc. The pool area was lovely and well-kept, and the hotel was very kid-friendly, which made it ideal for families as well. There’s also a beautiful beach nearby. Although it’s currently the off-season (June) for surfing in the Weligama area, we were still able to enjoy a bit of it. Overall, the experience was wonderful, and we had a memorable stay.

Let me start with the staff- the services are phenomenal and at a very diffrent level.|We were made felt very welcome from the day we arrived till the day we left - 4 nites. The staffs are very caring, took care of us all the way.|Thanks a million Ms Dilsha, Ms Nishadi .. and also all the staffs at the front office, and the Weligama Kitchen.||As for the property itself, it was clean, it was comfy, awesome ambience and very welcoming.|All rooms are ocean facing and the property is beach front. Really superb pools.|Just one sat back, lots of crows but it’s nature and nothing much I guess the hotel can do.||And the food, they were able to cater for my pepper intolerance thru out our stay.|The food is delicious (esp the seafood restaurant as well the Weligama kitchen’s buffet).||Very pleasant and happy stay experience for us.|Thank you so much !!
