Welina Terrace

Yes it's pricey but between the food, the service and the INSANE views, it's well worth it! We went twice while visiting the area despite the mediocre reviews and were so happy we did. Derek and Yuli were both great servers along with the hostesses and even the water guys. We got the brussel sprouts, crispy rice, hamachi roll, chili crunch hamachi roll, spicy ahi roll, wagyu, edamame and lastly the black mochi cake thingy for dessert. Everything was delicious but I wouldn't recommend the edamame simply because of the price and simplicity of the dish. It's just standard ol' edamame. Oh and every drink we had was awesome. The bar tenders know their stuff. Pictured is the Kauai Tai, really good, but we also had the Mai tai, one of the best I've had, and some standard martinis and gimlets. Again, expect to pay more but if you're looking for ambiance and quality food, I think it's worth a try. The views are just absolutely gorgeous! Photos do it now justice

We just came to have some drinks and watch the sunset on the patio. Beautiful view, complementary valet parking and a nice walk through the lobby to get to the terrace. The hostesses were very nice and the server were pleasant. There was one man who just seemed to be walking around, filling up people‘s water, but rarely made it into the cup… See image, he spilled enough on my leg, wallet and table for our neighbours to even notice and say something to us. The food did look yummy. There are several other spots on the island to have a beautiful sunset dinner without being in the splash zone.

Beautiful location and good drinks. Unfortunately the food was extremely overpriced and below average. We honestly found the food quality embarrassing for such a beautiful place. Our waitress was nice, but we couldn’t get over how mediocre the food was. It was over $60 for 6 pieces of grocery store quality sushi. An unfortunate experience for $326 for 2.

Definitely a must! I dined here every night during my stay. The sunsets were incredible from here. There is a Hawaiian dance ritual at sunset every night. The staff here are attentive and accommodating. I brought my baby and they gave me a seat tucked behind yet I could enjoy the view. The highlights for me was the shishito peppers, chili hamachi, and the hamachi kama special. I would skip the desserts. I ordered the Japanese cake and it was okay.

Amazing views, creative drinks and fresh tasty food. We arrived early had a drink at the bar/terrace while we waited for our table then had a great meal.

Welina Terrace at 1 Hotel offers an unforgettable dining experience! The Japanese cuisine is fantastic—the edamame and shishito peppers were absolutely bomb, and the spicy salmon roll was amazing. We sat during sunset, and the views were breathtaking. The added bonus was experiencing a traditional Hawaiian dance, which made the evening even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food with stunning views and a touch of Hawaiian culture!

The views and service are incredible. No better place to watch the sunset! The renovations to the hotel are fantastic, very chic. The uni pasta was the best dish of the night, highly recommend. Loved the sushi and found many rolls I’d like to go back to try. Drinks were unique and flavorful. The tiramisu dessert was very dry, unimpressed. Kids were everywhere which was so weird to me for this scale of dining with these food choices. Overall, good experience and would return.

Probably the only place in Kauai that open until 11 pm. Thanks to Derek we had such a great time. The cocktails are incredible and the food is so good
