We were staying at a nearby resort (Crusoe’s Retreat) but weren’t happy with the food and atmosphere there, so I thought I’d walk over and see whether we could eat at Wellesley. We were greeted with warmth and hospitality from Ris and his team (Veti, Meme, Faiza and the rest of the crew). Over our four night stay at the other resort, we ended going everyday for lunch and dinner to Wellesley, including for New Year’s Eve. The food was phenomenal, some of the best that we had during our stay in Fiji. The Fijian Indian curries were perfectly spiced (not too spicy) with really fluffy rotis and the Fijian native food was also really delicious. The garden salad was also really nice and fresh. Do note, in case you’re not staying but visiting for the food. For dinner they have a system where you need to contact them through WhatsApp to order your food ahead of time. As mentioned we also had spent New Year’s Eve here and had an amazing buffet cooked by Ris and the team followed by a Kava ceremony and fireworks. Whilst we didn’t stay there, we visited often enough to get a real sense of the place. It’s really lush, quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view off of the restaurant and pool onto the gardens and the ocean. We wished we stayed here instead of the other resort we were at. Note this place is adults only. Overall we really enjoyed our visits to Wellesley and would highly recommended them. Thanks so much to Ris and his team for welcoming us during our stay in the Coral Coast.

Oh, how wonderful it was! You immediately feel that a real team is at work here. Everyone helps out everywhere – the gardener is on duty in the evenings, the chef helps out at the pool or in the outdoor areas in the mornings. This collaboration and good atmosphere make the stay something special. We particularly remember one employee who brightened up every day with his warmth, charm, and zest for life. He organizes activities, personally accompanies guests, and spoils them with delicious meals – often Fijian or Indian-inspired. Even late at night, he's sometimes still in the kitchen baking cakes. A true all-rounder who puts a smile on everyone's face – a ray of sunshine, even on rainy days. What makes Fiji special for us is this warmth and togetherness. People of diverse cultures and religions live together peacefully, help each other, and welcome strangers with open arms. Everywhere you can sense community, serenity, and genuine joy in life. It was really hard for us to say goodbye – a place full of warmth, cordiality and joie de vivre.

Absolutely wonderful. Small resort, it’s isolated, quiet, and very private. Perfect for a short couples retreat. Our flight was delayed on the way in, but that was no problem, they had ground transportation set up and waiting for us. On the way, Joe called our driver to make sure he gave us the option to stop for beverages. There’s no alcohol for sale on property, but we were advised we could buy our own and bring it with us if we wanted to. Because of the delayed flight and slow customs, we arrived at the resort after dark. We were handed keys and they told us to stop by the desk the next day to formally check-in. Great recognition on the part of the staff that check-in could wait until morning. Snorkel gear and kayaks were available, and they were happy to set us up with a boat to take us out a little further to snorkel with the fishes. The private pool room is absolutely worth it. Food was good, if a little repetitive. Only one restaurant on site, but they’re happy to make modifications upon request. Not sure I’d stay for more than 3-4 days, but if you’ve only got a short stay on the island, or you want to stay at a few different resorts, this one is worth staying at.

We can’t recommend this beautiful resort enough! The views from the main dining area are stunning, and it’s only a very short walk to what feels like a private beach. You’re staying in a much more secluded part of Fiji, so it’s incredible to be surrounded by nature and local life.||The botanical gardens within the property are absolutely beautiful, and we walked through them each morning. There are plenty of activities available, with free use of kayaks, snorkelling gear (with reefs just metres from the property), board games, books to read, and more.||The food that Raj and his wonderful team served was delicious, and they catered exceptionally well for vegans and vegetarians.||And a huge thank you to Riz and Veti (and the entire Wellesley staff) for being so wonderful, generous, warm, and friendly throughout our stay.||We’re absolutely certain we’ll be returning soon and have already told so many of our family and friends

Wonderful and relaxing stay! Highly recommend if you are looking to relax and rejuvenate. You will basically have an entire beach to yourself to watch the beautiful sunrise/set each night and easy access to be picked up from the main highway for tours and day trips. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, Reiss would even remember our food preferences. We had the private pool which was a wonderful addition to our beautiful villa.

We loved our stay at the Wellesley, it was so quiet and peaceful, very relaxing! You can rent for free snorkelling equipment and fins, there are some great corals in the sea in front of the hotel, just after the seaweed. We saw so many colourful fishes and some starfishes! The staffs were super nice and helpful! The food was tasty and they had vegetarian options. I loved the healthy breakfasts. They don’t serve alcohol, but you can bring your own drinks! The room was clean and there is a fridge. It’s better if you have your own car as a bit remote, but it’s good as it’s far from the crowds. It’s a great place to relax and that’s exactly what we were looking for!

Really peaceful place, outstanding staff and beautiful beach. The staff takes real good care of you. Riz was so kind all the time. He made me smile a lot! Stayed for 4 days and was sad to leave. It shows how nice the place is.

Lovely adults only resort in a lush tropical valley. Super quiet and relaxed, with beautiful grounds (though a few mosquitos). Good food, friendly staff, and decent snorkelling opportunities straight off the beach, or a little further out with a local boat ($60 per person).
