We just want to say a massive vinaka vakalevu (thank you) to Jo, Hannah, and the entire team for making our stay at the Wellesley Resort truly unforgettable. We were only there for three nights, but the resort and its people left a lasting impression on us — the kind of experience you carry with you long after you return home. We’ve only been back a few days, yet we can’t stop sharing with friends and family how special our time was. I don’t usually write long reviews, but the Wellesley absolutely deserves it.||From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had found a second home. This isn’t a party resort — it’s calm, peaceful, and pristine, with a breathtaking private beach just steps away. It’s the perfect escape for anyone looking to truly relax, recharge, and experience the natural beauty of Fiji.||The food? Absolutely sensational. Every single dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Honestly, everything far exceeded our expectations. It was much better than most of what we get served back home! The food is fresh and prepared with care and love by two awesome chefs! The puddings and tropical fruits at breakfast were my girlfriend’s highlight (along with the curries and pasta dishes), while I couldn’t get enough of the pancakes, fresh fish, and curries. Every meal felt like a treat.||What makes the Wellesley truly unique, though, is its connection to the local community. Many of the staff come from nearby villages, which gives guests an authentic cultural experience you won’t find at larger resorts. Beyond amazing excursions like Cloud 9, Malamala Beach Club, or a South Sea Sailing adventure, it was the time spent with local people that changed us forever. Playing rugby on the beach with children, being welcomed into a Sunday church service (by invitation), sharing meals with families in their homes, and learning about Fijian traditions — from kava ceremonies to fishing practices — were experiences we will treasure for the rest of our lives.||One small tip for future guests: if you can, bring clothes, school supplies, or small items to donate to the village. It’s a simple gesture that makes a huge impact, and many travelers we met wished they had thought to bring something.||To Jo, Hannah, the wonderful staff, and the warm-hearted community of Namaquamaqua — vinaka vakalevu. Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and for welcoming us into your world. Our stay at the Wellesley wasn’t just a holiday — it was life-changing. In just three nights, we learned so much about happiness, connection, and what truly matters. There were many happy tears, and no doubt there will be more when we return.||We can only hope the Wellesley never changes — it’s a rare gem that offers more than just luxury; it offers meaning. We can’t wait to come back and create even more memories.||Sota tale ♥
