Really peaceful place, outstanding staff and beautiful beach. The staff takes real good care of you. Riz was so kind all the time. He made me smile a lot! Stayed for 4 days and was sad to leave. It shows how nice the place is.

Absolutely wonderful. Small resort, it’s isolated, quiet, and very private. Perfect for a short couples retreat. Our flight was delayed on the way in, but that was no problem, they had ground transportation set up and waiting for us. On the way, Joe called our driver to make sure he gave us the option to stop for beverages. There’s no alcohol for sale on property, but we were advised we could buy our own and bring it with us if we wanted to. Because of the delayed flight and slow customs, we arrived at the resort after dark. We were handed keys and they told us to stop by the desk the next day to formally check-in. Great recognition on the part of the staff that check-in could wait until morning. Snorkel gear and kayaks were available, and they were happy to set us up with a boat to take us out a little further to snorkel with the fishes. The private pool room is absolutely worth it. Food was good, if a little repetitive. Only one restaurant on site, but they’re happy to make modifications upon request. Not sure I’d stay for more than 3-4 days, but if you’ve only got a short stay on the island, or you want to stay at a few different resorts, this one is worth staying at.

Lovely adults only resort in a lush tropical valley. Super quiet and relaxed, with beautiful grounds (though a few mosquitos). Good food, friendly staff, and decent snorkelling opportunities straight off the beach, or a little further out with a local boat ($60 per person).

We loved our stay at the Wellesley, it was so quiet and peaceful, very relaxing! You can rent for free snorkelling equipment and fins, there are some great corals in the sea in front of the hotel, just after the seaweed. We saw so many colourful fishes and some starfishes! The staffs were super nice and helpful! The food was tasty and they had vegetarian options. I loved the healthy breakfasts. They don’t serve alcohol, but you can bring your own drinks! The room was clean and there is a fridge. It’s better if you have your own car as a bit remote, but it’s good as it’s far from the crowds. It’s a great place to relax and that’s exactly what we were looking for!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3-day stay at the Wellesley Resort.|It is located on the coast, after turning off the Queens Road and driving along a 3 km unmade road (this road is fine to drive in a regular car, albeit it is rather up-and-down and bumpy). |The resort is wonderfully quiet (not doubt helped by it being adults only!) and it wasn’t an issue at all for us that they don’t serve alcohol (although you are welcome to bring your own with you).|Meals are taken in an open-air room overlooking the swimming pool, with the sea in the distance. Breakfast was part of the tariff for us, and we ate there once for lunch and dinner, both of which were delicious. Simply for variety, we also had a couple of lunches and dinners at other places on the Coral Coast, including the Warwick Resort (their fish restaurant Wicked Walu is great; we recommend booking in advance).|The hospitality that we received from Riz and Mela was outstanding. They were always friendly, professional, graceful and generous, and we couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome. Thank you so much!

This resort is located roughly half way between Nadi and Suva. Due to speed limits of 30/50/60/80 km, it will take a good 2 hours to drive there. Organise a transfer or taxi. Price will be between 180 to 220 Fiji dollars. The rooms are quite comfortable and we took the pool option which was very nice. The staff are really good, keen to assist you where possible. The menu is quite good but doesn't change, so after a few days you'll run out of things to try. The location is pretty good set between 2 villages and in a small valley. The grounds are well cared for and the beach front is quite good. I would recommend this resort if you are after a nice quiet location and keen to enjoy the weather. I don't recall seeing alcohol at all, but cocktails were available.

We just want to say a massive vinaka vakalevu (thank you) to Jo, Hannah, and the entire team for making our stay at the Wellesley Resort truly unforgettable. We were only there for three nights, but the resort and its people left a lasting impression on us — the kind of experience you carry with you long after you return home. We’ve only been back a few days, yet we can’t stop sharing with friends and family how special our time was. I don’t usually write long reviews, but the Wellesley absolutely deserves it.||From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had found a second home. This isn’t a party resort — it’s calm, peaceful, and pristine, with a breathtaking private beach just steps away. It’s the perfect escape for anyone looking to truly relax, recharge, and experience the natural beauty of Fiji.||The food? Absolutely sensational. Every single dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Honestly, everything far exceeded our expectations. It was much better than most of what we get served back home! The food is fresh and prepared with care and love by two awesome chefs! The puddings and tropical fruits at breakfast were my girlfriend’s highlight (along with the curries and pasta dishes), while I couldn’t get enough of the pancakes, fresh fish, and curries. Every meal felt like a treat.||What makes the Wellesley truly unique, though, is its connection to the local community. Many of the staff come from nearby villages, which gives guests an authentic cultural experience you won’t find at larger resorts. Beyond amazing excursions like Cloud 9, Malamala Beach Club, or a South Sea Sailing adventure, it was the time spent with local people that changed us forever. Playing rugby on the beach with children, being welcomed into a Sunday church service (by invitation), sharing meals with families in their homes, and learning about Fijian traditions — from kava ceremonies to fishing practices — were experiences we will treasure for the rest of our lives.||One small tip for future guests: if you can, bring clothes, school supplies, or small items to donate to the village. It’s a simple gesture that makes a huge impact, and many travelers we met wished they had thought to bring something.||To Jo, Hannah, the wonderful staff, and the warm-hearted community of Namaquamaqua — vinaka vakalevu. Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and for welcoming us into your world. Our stay at the Wellesley wasn’t just a holiday — it was life-changing. In just three nights, we learned so much about happiness, connection, and what truly matters. There were many happy tears, and no doubt there will be more when we return.||We can only hope the Wellesley never changes — it’s a rare gem that offers more than just luxury; it offers meaning. We can’t wait to come back and create even more memories.||Sota tale ♥
