"Then drive straight to the drive-in theater in Wellfleet. It’s been around since 1957, in the same lot as the flea market. When I was a kid, my family and I would load a mattress into the bed of my uncle’s truck and park backwards to catch both features."

Really a must-visit if you are on the Cape. The parking lot is set up perfectly for a drive-in so that you don't need to exit your vehicle. If you do, that's ok and there is plenty of space in front of your car, but bring some bug spray. Snacks here won't break the bank and there are speakers you can put in your car if you don't want to use your battery/radio to listen to the movie.

Very classic drive-in. Prices are not cheap but definitely fair compared to a typical movie theatre. The audio and visual was good. Recommend bringing anything you want to have a good time!!

Had a great experience at their drive-in. Beautiful night and decided to park up front. No matter where you park you will have a great view! Sound through some of the speakers throughout the drive-in but can also tune in with Radio. Cannot wait to return, such a good time had!

Ive been going here since I was 8 (I’m now 31). I’ve been to drive ins all over the country and no one quite captures the nostalgia of drive ins like welfleet does. It has all you could want at a drive-in - good prices, good food, clean bathrooms, efficient operations.. and then theres the little extras they do with the intermission commercials from the 50s, the original sound boxes that just transports you back in time. Seriously love this place. Never change!

This has been around forever! It's definitely a memory for the kids and for those adults who have never been to a drive-in themselves! Take your kids, bring blankets, go with someone that has a truck, they have a great concession with lots of candies and food! You tune in on the radio to the movie or use the old school speakers!

We love going to Wellfleet drive in on our annual cape cod trip. This year (2025) was a bummer because none of the movies (Jaws, Jurassic World) were particularly kid-friendly and we ended up not going.

Blast from the past!!! My gf took me to see one of my all time favorite movies JAWS and I got to experience the movie just like it was when it was released this is a timeless experience that is slowly disappearing. If you are in the area GO! It’s worth every bit!

Fun for the whole family. While the ticket prices are not inexpensive, it’s a worthwhile experience at least once while vacationing on Cape Cod. The snack bar prices are way more reasonable than a movie theater so you make up your savings there. There’s a throw back nostalgic feeling to a drive-in theater that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Every kid should have that experience at least once.

Yelp
Drive-in review Friendly service, easy to see the screen and the sound works great. Concessions were no more expensive than your average movie theater in a non-cape-cod place, and in fact the dogs and burgers are kind of a deal. We liked it so much we didn't mind that the movie itself was a turd. This place is totally worth it.

Yelp
A much preferred destination over the mall for seeing a first-run movie, despite no stadium seating (just awkward asymmetrical old auditorium seating), smaller screens, and kind of a remote location for us Mid-Capers. Why is that? Dated, a wee bit shabby, yes, but the staff are nice and you avoid the mall. Did I mention if you go to this theater you're not at the mall? Despite the equivocations above, the projection and sound are fine and the utterly standard concessions are also fine for what they are. (Keurig coffee available as well.) Just remember to turn in at the drive-in sign, then hang a right to get to the parking lot.

Yelp
One of my families favorite Cape Cod activities! Pizza from Red Barn, double flick at the WF Drive in and call it a perfect way to end a day at the Cape. Only thing better would be for the concessions stand to have better options and perhaps a DEEP CLEAN, but frankly, we come here to watch a movie and kick back with the kids.

Yelp
Brought me back to the 70s, although I'm only in my 20s Beautiful location, big enough screen to see the movie perfectly, and the stars in the sky are just an added bonus to the experience. Good price for what you get. They also have a snack bar and restroom on site

Yelp
Wonderful! Nostalgic! This was on my to-do list for such a long time and here we were finally living the dream! And one of the best ever. Everything was exceptionally clean. Loved the retro snack bar and the designated parking areas for different vehicle types so everyone could see perfectly! This is definitely a must-do for everyone who loves drive-in theaters!

Yelp
This would a "must do" for your cape cod vacation! $13/person and we were able to see a double feature. Bring food and a cooler... or stop by their concession stand. You can listen to the movie through the sound of your car radio, or is their nostalgic pole speaker.

Yelp
we always love coming to this movie theater. Whether it's a rainy day or after the beach, it's always a staple in our vacation. On the latest visit, we saw Solo: A Star Wars Story and it was great! For once, we were not too cold inside the theater (most places blast the AC too much), although depending on the film, it can be a little hard to hear certain parts. we also love the drive-in experience! (visited 5/27/18)

Yelp
The theater is small dirty and dumpy. There is zero customer service, the people working here act like they are doing you a favor by taking your money and letting you see a movie there. They seem to feel it's a moral duty to enforce R rating rules that under 21? can't see a R movie without an adult. I will never patronize this theater again and I hope they go out of business and the smug nasty employees have to go on food stamps.

Yelp
Shabby? A little. Outdated? A wee bit. Cozy? You bet. The staff is quirky and fun, and in the bleak mid-winter, you get the whole dang theater to yourself, which I love. Wellfleet Cinemas is away from anything remotely resembling a village - it's a sharp, random turn off of Rt 6 and shoved to the side of the drive-in theater. It also happens to be my favorite cinema on the Cape. It's cheap, they have great popcorn and I feel like I'm in 1972. And I love it. They always have the most current movies, so you don't have to miss out or deal with the riffraff of Hyannis - this is a wonderful thing. I also love that you can come on a Tuesday night and get tickets for wicked cheap.

Yelp
I have never seen people who don't want to be at their jobs more than this place. We go here many times over the winter and are always met with long faces and grunts. Cheer up, staff! Otherwise, the place is clean and the screens are very nice/sharp.

Yelp
I've lived in Wellfleet for numerous summers and I can't get enough of the Drive-In theater. One of the last few of it's kind, this place is a straight up gem. They always have two showings-usually the first movie is kid friendly and the second is a little more for the adults. They always bring in the newest releases and everyone from around town, locals and visitors alike, go multiple times during the summer. The snack bar is rad- they have all the necessities including a good arrangement of ice cream. There is a playground for the kids to go make friends and people usually bring lawn chairs and set up elaborate watching parties from their car trunks. If you're in the area, you have to go. Also, if you're not in the mood for the outdoor experience, there are always a good array of choices at the theater right next door.

Yelp
Fantastic and simple place to see a movie. It's privately run and the staff is always pleasant. Tuesday's are bargain days and all movies are $5.75. My wife and I love this place!

Yelp
This is my first time in recent memory of coming to the double feature at the drive in. It is great! I love the old style pre show info sketch and the intermission. Feels like I'm in the 50s, especially with the pre show music. If you have a sedan or low car you get to park closer. Bigger cars need to go further back. There are speakers you bring into your car and hang on the window with a little dial for volume. For this being a speaker system from 1957, it sounds pretty dang good! There is also a radio station you can tune to in your car. The food here is cheap. Only paid 7$ for a large popcorn tub. Also the entrance fee is only 10$ for adults. For 2 movies, that is great! The picture on the screen is also great quality. Just an overall great experience!
