Amazing Tour, thank you to our informative guide. We had a great time and love the new Tourist Centre too. SES were training there that day and that was good to see too.

I recently visited with my 2 special needs kids. One who never talks . We did the discovery lab and enjoyed it a lot . We finished our time of by going on the fossil walk and going on a cave tour . We did the cathedral cave . Our guid for the day in the lab and cave was amazing and full of knowledge. Long story short he made my kids feel so at ease that my youngest actually talked to him . This as an autism parent is huge and ment alot . I cant remember his name . But he definitely made my kids day . I highly recommend going We will be back .

Did the Cathedral Tour (definitely book in advance!). It was fantastic. Paul was really entertaining and informative. We have visited Jenolan Caves and Undarra, but we learned so many new things about cave formations. The fossil history is amazing. Arrive half an hour before your tour so you can have a look at this mini museum room.

Did the caves tour with the family. Just under an hours drive from Dubbo. The tour is short but great. Did this with my 4yo and he had no problems. Lachie was a great guide! Very informative and entertaining. Also made a mean coffee! Tour bookings are essential but there’s a fossil trail that is an easy walk. Kids enjoyed the experience! Didn’t stay at the campground but it looked nice!

We camped at Wellington Caves for a night using a tent, and although we originally planned to stay longer, the cold got the better of us! It was a freezing night for my liking, and unfortunately, you can’t have your own fire by your campsite — there are designated firepits, which is understandable but made it a little tough to keep warm next to our tent. What I really loved about the place is how much there is to do without even leaving the area. We went on the Cathedral Cave tour and our guide, Nick, was fantastic — so knowledgeable and engaging. There’s also a guided fossil experience, a golf course, and a beautiful Japanese garden nearby. The campground caters to caravans, tents, and also has cabins available. The bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained, with hot showers. There’s a camp kitchen, TV room, and even a laundry, which is super handy for longer stays. The whole area is calm, quiet, and filled with kangaroos hopping around, gorgeous sunsets, and incredible dark skies at night — perfect for stargazing. It is child friendly, dog friendly and wifi is available. The only thing I wished for was a bit more space between campsites and the ability to light a small fire by our tent for warmth. Would definitely go back, especially with family. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need to leave because everything you need for a relaxing and fun little getaway is right there.

Such a fantastic park with so much to do. Play golf, go caving, which are awesome to see. There is also a creek to play in not far from the golf club. The camp kitchen is the best I've ever seen. Everything you need, including a TV room. We have a Family reunion here every year, and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. They are all lovely and friendly. I have stayed in a cabin as well as the units overlooking the golf course in the past. They have always been very clean and comfortable. I now have a caravan and camp. The campground is grassy, with firepits scattered around. A really great place to stay and explore the area.

We stayed in a cabin at the holiday park. Clean and cheap, situated right next to the caves. The photos are of the visitor centre, which has recently been refurbished and has an interactive display. We did the fossil activity, which was hosted by experienced Biological Geologist (I think that was his title) Ben, who took us through the samples. Amazing 45 minutes of education. The cafe has good coffee and light meals, toilets are clean and well-ventilated. We went to the Cathedral Cave tour and it was much easier to climb in and out than the '150 steep steps' warning would have you believe. We'll worth a visit!

Wellington Caves was an absolute surprise and so glad we went. The day was a bit dreary but the caves were just brilliant. Our guide Paul was fabulous and we also loved the cafe and exhibition. The caravan park was one of the best we have stayed in with very clean facilities and a large site next to the golf course. The free Japanese garden across the road were superb and the dreary day did not make it any less enjoyable - 100% recommend

Yelp
As authentic as it comes, this is a natural part of Australian history. The caves are situated outside of Wellington, NSW. The caves are amazing in that they have been well preserved and a steady stream of families come from near and far to walk down the caves and hear the information the young lad shares with the tourist. This is an ideal spot for families. There is a picnic area before the entrance to the caves and there is a well looked after fenced off area for native animals and birds. There is a well facilitated caravan park beside the caves. Parking for cars and caravans is not a problem.

Yelp
We did both caves and the phosphate mine in the afternoon. It was very hot outside but the caves were cool and cathedral cave is just plain spectacular. Leave it until last. Both ladies who took us through the caves had excellent knowledge and a pretty good sense of humour too! We hadn't been here for around 40years and were very pleasantly surprised at how easy the walk from the shop and the tours were. There is no booking just roll up and take your chances when it is school holidays as it is very popular. It is the best thing to do on a hot day.
