I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel with my husband for 8 days in November/December and had an overall great experience, with a few areas for improvement.||||**1) Fitness & Exercise Classes:** The range of exercise classes on offer was excellent e .g aqua yoga, yin yoga, stretching, reformer pilates (for a fee) plus soundbaths. As someone who’s very active and a yogi, I was pleased with the variety available and loved that I could easily book them via the hotel website/app. Special mention to Melina and the reformer pilates instructor (I think her name was Igrid), who were both absolutely fantastic, super friendly and went above and beyond! However, there’s room for improvement in the booking system—while it’s great to have everything online (or you can book at reception), the website didn’t automatically update and kept showing past bookings, which meant I had to scroll quite a bit to find my schedule for the day. Also, it would be good if you book multiple participants onto a class at once and helpful to know in advance which instructor will be teaching, as personal preference plays a big role in enjoying these classes.||||**2) Music Nights & Bar Staff:** The music nights were a great touch to the evenings, adding a lovely atmosphere. Phillip Schwarz was brilliant. The bar staff were friendly and accommodating, which enhanced the overall experience. We also really enjoyed the Krampus visit to the restaurant in the evening which was a great fun local tradition!||||**3) Christmas Sheep:** A quirky and delightful touch seeing the sheep out for Christmas was an unexpected but charming addition to the festive atmosphere as the hotel was beautifully decorated for perfume.||||**4) Range of Activities:** The hotel offers a wide variety of activities, which was a huge plus for me. From fitness to leisure, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.||||**5) Food Quality:** Overall, the food was good. However, I felt that the quality and range of choices at their other hotel in Lazise, where I stayed last year was superior. It’s not to say that the food here was not good, just that there was a bit more variety and flair elsewhere.||||**6) Relaxation Areas:** There are plenty of peaceful spots to unwind throughout the hotel, and I loved the variety of options. Whether you’re looking for a quiet corner or somewhere more social, there's a place for you.||||**7) Language Barriers:** We were in the minority as English-speaking guests, and unfortunately, our allocated waiter wasn’t fluent in English. There were times when he struggled to answer menu-related questions whilst there were other waiters who were fluent so that was a shame. We also quite often got the daily newsletter/what's on in german, with it being replaced with an english version when requested. It might also be a small but useful change to have some language indication on place settings (perhaps a flag next to the surname) to help staff know which language guests are most comfortable with (if not german) and ensure the paperwork is in the correct language.||||**8) Check-In/Out Process:** The check-in process was a bit underwhelming. We received very little information beyond a map and weren’t informed for example of the free travel benefits until I stumbled across mention of a bus to merano on google later in my stay. Similarly, upon checkout, we were told our taxi was waiting, but no one offered to help with our luggage, which was disappointing for a 5-star hotel. They were not busy at the time so there was no reason for this not to be offered.||||**9) WhatsApp Service:** I primarily used WhatsApp for communication, as it’s much easier to reach out when you’re on the go. Unfortunately, the response time was slow—typically hours—sometimes even for urgent issues. For example, I reported a defect in the hot tub that could have led to injury as there were no staff members in the vicinity, and it wasn’t responded to for over two hours. This kind of delay was concerning, especially when compared to the prompt service I experienced at the Lasize hotel who similarly use WhatsApp for communication.||||**10) Room Improvements:** A couple of minor tweaks could really elevate the room. For instance, a mirror above the dressing table would be a great addition, and a more modern hairdryer that doesn’t require you to constantly press down the button would be more comfortable, especially for those with repetitive strain injuries (RSI). The room we had (Eidelweiss) was very large with a modern bathroom and rainfall shower which we were otherwise more than happy with.||||**11) Fitness Areas:** The fitness areas—particularly the See Lodge yoga studio, the fitness room at Alpenschossel, and the main gym—were too hot during my stay. Reception mentioned that the air conditioning wasn’t on due to the winter months, but in spaces where you’re working out, not having air conditioning was uncomfortable.||||**12) Spa Facilities:** The spa facilities were fantastic. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Special shout out to the sauna team who put on great shows day in, day out.||||**13) Family Run Feel:** It’s lovely to stay at a family-run hotel, and I really appreciated the personal touch. It was nice to see the hotel owners down in the hotel mingling with the guests and participating in the entertainment on Saturday night. It’s clear they care about the experience and enjoy connecting with their guests.||||**Overall Verdict:** This hotel has a lot to offer, especially for active guests, and I would definitely recommend it. The staff are mostly friendly and the facilities are fantastic. However, there are a few areas, particularly around communication, language barriers, and the service at check-in/check-out, that could be improved to match the hotel’s 5-star status.||||We would like to return in the future and hope these small suggestions will be taken on board for future stays
