Thanks for the stay. It was indeed a nice spa area but the times of the operation of some of the saunas was not acceptable. The food and so called four course menu was not good enough for that price. You price very high for what you provide in terms of food quality and diversity and also the room and mattress were not living up to the standard. Hence two stars less. Thanks

From their website you can't really tell that this spa is anything too insanely special. There are only a few limited pictures and my German isn't fantastic so I wasn't able to understand fully. I went here with 4 other friends for a whole day while the rest of our group was skiing. And this was one of the most relaxing days ever! The entire spa-while very spread out and confusing-is tranquil and relaxing to a T. There were at least 4 types of saunas, a salt pool, an indoor pool, an outdoor heated pool with a gorgeous view overlooking the mountains, a heated warming room, several relaxing rooms with mountain views and even a quiet room on the top floor filled with warm waterbeds. I loved this place immensely and would go back ASAP! We each did the day spa package which was 45 euros just for the day pass or 115 euros which also included a one hour massage and huge buffet lunch. Definitely worth the massage price. But either one includes a tote bag for the day with slippers, towels, robe and lotion. Don't think. Just go!

This hotel has very large rooms with big bathrooms, excellent swimming pools (yes more than one: indoor, outdoor, "natural pond", jacuzzi, salt water...), a gym room with all machine you need, and a spa with sauna, "ice cave". The breakfast is sumptuous. On the other hand, the hotel is very big and can be crowded in vacation seasons and the dinner has a limited number of choices. Price aligned with four-star hotel on tourist/ski area.

Fou my second visit in a business trip I really enjoyed this great hotel; the room are wide all very clean and in a very typical atmosphere. I also liked the restaurant with quality and healthy food. I wish I came back and enjoy with my family for a longer stay.

We found this hotel due to its association with best wellness hotels and really enjoyed an extended weekend break at the Egger Hotel. Their web-site gives a very good overview of the various room-types and layouts, including pictures and room plans and an online booking request was promptly answered. ||When we arrived we were surprised how huge the hotel is given that it has only 80 rooms. After a welcome drink of Prosecco, the car went into the underground car park and the luggage to the room. We had splurged and booked one of their family suites despite just being two of us. Being on top of the hotel with a gorgeous view of the valley in front and the mountains around. Off to the afternoon buffet with various soups, cold cuts and cakes, plus tea/coffee/soft drinks, before heading over to the very large spa area, followed by dinner.||We loved: the room, the spa area with numerous and spacious saunas, quiet relaxation areas without children, the breakfast buffet, main course and dessert at dinner, the selection of wines and the huge choice of drinks at the bar. Plus overall great and friendly service all around. ||We were less enthused about that the quality of the food at the afternoon buffet (especially the soups were from the previous day's dinner), that appetizers were often self-serve from a buffet, and that smoking is allowed at the bar when the tables around the bar are all designated “non-smoking”.||There are lots of daily activities, skiing (or hiking) is close by, but it is also a perfect place to do nothing!

Loved the rooms and the place. Very nice, helpful and forthcoming staff. Food was amazing aswell. But vegetarian options were not always labeled. For example some fruit cake with some Gelatine. But staff did answer all questions when this was brought up.

You can tell from my first review of this property a year ago that I really loved this place:||https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g663652-d1021107-r372731079-Wellnesshotel_Eggerwirt-St_Michael_im_Lungau_Austrian_Alps.html#REVIEWS||||However, this year while the spa was still fantastic and I had one of the best massages in my life it all ended badly with the service at the front desk upon check out. Imagine 4 people have spent the entire day in the spa, enjoying the place, the view, the beautiful saunas and clean facilities and relaxing in king size waterbeds on the top floor. After this day we were each checking out and paying for our Day spa costs when the owner Junge Moser, was completely rude to her guests. We had booked the day spa package and weren't staying in the hotel, but that is a cost of 55 Euros for the day spa package which includes the lunch buffet. Last year the cost was only 40 Euros and did not include the lunch buffet, unless you booked a massage as well and then there was a lunch buffet in the full restaurant. So last year I had a massage as well and the lunch package in the full restaurant which was a huge buffet and many soups, salads, main courses etc. ||||The spa went through several changes this year. And they added a nice lunch buffet, snack area inside of the spa-which consisted of charcuterie, one small salad, tea and some mini yogurts. We received a tour upon entering in the morning and we asked the girl if this was the place where we would be having lunch, and she said yes. ||||Anyways, upon check out we mentioned that we were all hungry since we had only eaten basically carrots and dip over the last 7 hours. And then Frau Moser told us that we could have had lunch in the full restaurant. This was news to us. So we complained that we hadn't eaten all day and said we didn't want to pay the price that included a lunch buffet since we were all starving. Her answer was to A) yell at the girl who had given us the tour that morning. B) to tell us that we should have known that the girl was in training and not to listen to her. C) be completely rude and tell us that we should have remembered from last year that lunch was in the restaurant. D) Call me a liar for saying that the price wasn't 40 Euros last year (I have it in my credit card statement). She then went on the break down the charges for us and tell us that we still had to pay anyway since we each had enough carrots to make up the difference. We would have eaten carrots along with a proper lunch either way. ||||It wasn't about the money at all, 10-15 euros is not the end of the world, it was the way that she treated us like we were idiots and liars. In the end she ended up taking 5 Euros off of the price for each of us and also gave us each a glass of wine. It was completely unprofessional and just a horrible way to end a beautiful day at the gorgeous spa. Maybe she'll think next time instead of making the customers feel like crap. Either way I won't be back. Which is really sad to me as well.

We have been at Eggerwirt the third time over the past two years. It is a nice place with great skiing areas. This time we did not get a very friendly service in the restaurant. And unfortunately you always have the same person assigned to your table for the whole stay. We always felt bad to order beverages and food. She gave us the feeling that we generate a work load for her.||What we really found disappointing: the afternoon buffet basically shows cold variations of previous dinner. After having seen fish that was offered TWO days before for dinner, we were shocked. For a highly rated and expensive hotel this is totally inappropriate.
