Great little narrow guage railway near to Wells Next The Sea. The steam train ride is about 30 mins through the local countryside. The station at Wells has a small shop and cafe with seating outside in old train carriages. The staff were super friendly and very enthusiastic.

What a unique, delightful experience the railway is! Run by enthusiastic volunteers it is a fun 30 minutes thru lovely countryside x 2. Starting just outside Wells next the Sea the journey goes to Walsingham and then back again. Full of history, the time from arrival until the return journey on the train is just enough to explore this shrine town and include a visit to the Read and Digest Tearoom. (Amazing food) The volunteers definitely deserve a mention - from the chap on guard duty as you wait the train arrival, the lovely lady in the cafe serving homemade sausage rolls and other goodies, the ticket collector who takes the money easily and promptly, the driver who gets you there & back safely and for our trip especially the wonderful, personable lady guard. We shared a carriage with her on our return journey from Walsingham back to Wells and we so enjoyed her company.

What a fun day out. The staff and volunteers of this are brilliant and they all deserve a mention for the great customer service and dedication to running and keeping this service going. The Wells end of the service has the signal box which is so interesting and the outside carriages that serve as seating for visitors whilst waiting for the train. There is a small cafe and toilets there as well as parking. We took our dog on the ride and everyone was so accommodating and kind to him as quite nervous. Must also mention the beautiful scenery enroute. We loved all of it. Great for all the family.

Loved it. Charming little journey on an old fashioned enthusiasts little railway run mostly by volunteers. Had a little snack, homemade and tasty while waiting for the next train. Toilets on site. Well worth a visit. Pet friendly. If you catch an early enough train you will have time to visit Walsingham village, Abbey, church and Shrine before the last train back at 4.15 which are amazing . Loved it all

For world's longest 10and 3/4 inch Railway far from world class exp. Car parking is in a field from a track And homemade direction board to Shop. No ticket office just someone standing taking tickets. No obvious history about railway or Info leaflets/ boards or pamphlets. Staff when asked about history appeared most reluctant to give information. Carriages had worn appearance And open carriage seat was wet. Shop had reasonable array of snacks and drinks. Ride great...spotted some interesting wildlife and walk around Walsingham Delightful and shrine history fascinating. If going on railway go from wells end as nothing to do there!! 12.50 for diesel 30 min journey each way Was expensive for basically straight track with no stops and nothing at Walsingham platform and basic set up at wells. Not even able to look in sheds at the garretts steam engines. One for enthusiasts only me thinks

Friendly staff, small buffet at Wells end for coffee etc, merchandise. Best done in good weather as can be a bit wet onboard in rain. Great views of farmland , churches and nature generally. Lovely engines in use and great to see an old trackbed in use. Worth a 1/2 day trip.

Wonderful experience, perfect for railfans or young children. Friendly folks all around, very eager to explain the dos & don‘ts of riding, and lots of recommendations for local experiences. Price is fair & you have the opportunity to visit Walsingham. The flexibility to come back makes it ideal to take a ride, have a pub lunch/cream tea, then come back. Especially wonderful in good weather. Sidenotes - if you suffer from hayfever/pollen related allergies, remember to take an antihistamine. Lots of lovely plantlife & flowers, but can be irritating to eyes/nose if you‘re not careful. & for open carriages, remember sunscreen/cover skin in excessive sunny weather!

I will start with the reason I have given 4 stars. All staff were lovely, except 1. She kept pretending to be my 2 year old son getting electrified on the nearby electric fence (dont worry, he didnt, but she found it funny to keep pretending). She made other remarks and "jokes" which almost spoilt the atmosphere for me. But other than her, it was a great morning riding on the little train through the countryside. My son loved it. We were lucky with the weather, and even saw red kites and pheasants. Definitely recommend!
