Sunday buffet for the price of 20e is really worth it in my opinion. A wide variety of food, vegan options, cereals, english breakfast, fruits, unlimited orange juice and ice tea, couple of cheese options with some processed meat and even grilled chicken legs. Can't really beat that. Had a lot of energy for a busy day of exploring Vienna and only needed a light lunch after that. Staff was kind and helpful. Atmosphere is rather ok, the decor gives mixed vibes, but it's chill, so it's fine.

Very "warm" and casual cafe for vegetarians/vegans. They do also have dishes with chicken. I believe the main emphasis here is eat well but eat healthy. They seem to be mindful of your allergies. If you are mindful of what you are eating, this is definitely for you. 😊👍👌

The time I went there, it was super crowded, probably there was a group dinner of some organization. The ambiance of the place had been super amazing. The food was average, had wide range of vegan options though. The people in the cafe are super welcoming and friendly. The access to public transport is around 10-15 minutes walks.

Lovely cafe, we went for a quick dinner before a concert and the service was fantastic. Amazing for vegetarians with a very chilled atmosphere.

Weltcafé never disappoints, the atmosphere is so lovely, the staff working there is super friendly and I love the vegan options. Due to its location, this place is also a go-to for my uni breaks. :) Would totally recommend ✨

I ordered sweet potato fries and a salad with mango-mustard dressing and falafel. The salad consisted of mixed salad leaves, 1 piece of cucumber, 1 piece of tomato and 3 pieces of bell pepper, and, falafel of course. The dressing was kind of good, but falafel was just the worst I’ve ever tried. I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with it, but it has no flavour at all and has strange texture. At least I could it the fries (which also could be much crunchier) and salad leaves with the sauce… The service was good. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll return.

Walked into Welt Cafe on a Sunday around 12:30pm looking for a table for 3. It seemed pretty busy but we were seated within 5 minutes! We had the option of ordering off the menu or the all you can eat buffet for €15.50 (coffee not included). We opted for the menu (they had an english version) and got Indonesian breakfast, Fit breakfast, and Meditteranean plate. I also got the Mexican Coffee--had a cinnamon, spicy like taste--would totally recommend.⁣⁣⁣ Also! We were served a small baguette and some rye bread in addition to our meals. Each dish was €8/9 and coffee was discounted to €1.5 with breakfast!! The food was pretty good, nothing remarkable but for the price it worked

Welt Café (World Café) in Vienna is one of the best new generation non-traditional traditional cafes in Vienna. Did I actually just write that sentence? I actually know what I mean by it .... but prob no one else will .... so I'll try to say it another way. The Welt Café is a consistently cool café that provides all the expected amenities of a Viennese café in its own quirky kind of way. And I really like that it specializes in a lot of fair-trade foods as well as organic. The clientele is quite varied although the nearby university certainly provides much of the customer base. In warmer weather their outdoor sidewalk Schanigarten is the popular spot, in cooler weather their brightly colored interior helps chase away the winter blues. When I am in Philadelphia, the World Café there is an iconic establishment. Well the Welt Café (World Café) in Vienna is on its way to becoming a classic as well.

The Yelp App helped out so much when we ventured to Vienna for a friends 30th Birthday. Vienna is SUCH a great City, but staying in a lovely hotel away from the touristy areas and the busy shopping streets meant that we had no idea where to grab breakfast on a very rainy and grey morning. We typed breakfast into the app and checked out what came up. One of the top hits was Weltcafe (which was around a 20 minute walk from where we were staying) and having a peruse of the of the pictures and the description, it was clear that this was the place to be! Again... the Yelp app directed us to the cafe (which was reasonably easy to find) and we popped in to shelter from the weather and grab something healthy and filling to set us up for the day. First thing to note, the menu was in a variety of languages so we could easily see all the different platters that were on offer. There were also photos of all of the dishes, so you knew exactly what you were ordering too (which was very handy). We ordered our food and a coffee and settled in. The ambiance is very relaxed and I could see myself working in here with my laptop if I lived in the area. The staff were helpful and welcoming and we felt right at home. The coffee was fantastic and well needed after a late one the night before. Once the food arrived we were pleased to note it was exactly as described. Fresh, filling and tasty, I have no complaints at all about the quality. We popped in for a quick breakfast, but ended up staying for about an hour and a half (sipping several different coffees). The final cost for the two of us to have a healthy and hearty breakfast with (at least) two hot drinks each was under €20. We actually wanted to go back during our trip to try out the rest of the options, but there just wasn't time. When I get back to Vienna, I will definitely be heading back to the Weltcafe to try some more of their menu.

I adore Weltcafe, for its unique coffees if nothing else. Their Mexikanischer Kaffee is a must-try for coffee lovers, containing cinnamon, clove, and ginger (if I remember correctly), and it's only €2,90. Their Ethiopian coffee is also really tasty - it also has ginger, and cardamom I believe, and again only €2,90, which is a great price for any coffee in Vienna, but especially a really good coffee, and *especially* a specialty coffee. The only food I've tried at Weltcafe were the freshly made chips, which are a bit of a cross between chips and pommes frites (more on the chip-side, though), and these are absolutely amazing. Really, _really_ good, y'all. The other food I've seen (and smelled), particularly the curry dishes, are motivation for me to continue visiting this establishment and try their food in the very near future (friends tell me it's quite good). This place is also very vegetarian- and vegan-friendly. Do give it a try, especially the coffee, but if you're meeting someone here, either make a reservation or arrive early to find a table; seating is sometimes a bit difficult because it's a pretty popular place!

Overpriced, slipshod and probably unhealthy. We ordered turkish and french breakfast plates and they were both really bad.

Second Sunday brunch at Welt Café. We both arrived quite like late, like 1.50pm to that brunch which ends up at 2pm. Good news : you can actually enjoy all the remaining food til 3pm, but they won't refill the buffet. Bad news : there were enough food for us, but it was not very diversified due to late time. Shame. Then good surprise, Welt Café is charging only 7.5€ if you arrive late, which I found pretty fair.

Part of the Viennese charm are the classical around-the-corner cafés, yet this unconventional café fits perfectly with the more modern aspecs of the city. I've heard and read the Welt Café has amazing food, so I wanted to try it out and to be honest the food was really incredible! I had the Idonesian breakfast, combining hot fruits-filled-chocolate-dipped pancakes with a cold and refreshing yougurt. Also, you have to try the Mexican coffee, especially if you love cinnamon es much as I do on a rainy and cold morning.

Very friendly staff, inclusionary atmosphere, delicious food and the most perfect toilets, ever. Perfect to sit outside on a hot summer day and have breakfast at noon.

It is not always easy to be a born Yelper and have that constant urge to discover new places instead of sticking to the old and already well-known and good ones. At least that is how I tried to explain to myself the waste of resources in Weltcafe the other day, including an almost food poisoning: the passion to discover also comes with a price. Not that I am a fan of other Weltladen products including super expensive mostly everything. But the idea of a cafe, which offers the whole range of organic/fair traded world foods, plus the tempting reviews of exotic breakfasts made me have to go. We went for an early lunch though, as the time of breakfast was already over, and brunch buffet on that red tablecloth was not all that appealing. I mean, you could have a mishmash from the buffet, and I guess you are even better off that way than with what we had. But after a brunch I usually feel full in an unorganized way, so I opted for a Hauptspeise. I found it very practical that you can have a curry and your husband e.g. a burrito at the same place. My husband ordered a salad with baked chicken though, and was regretting it the rest of the day. It is annoying because you can't undo eating it later on when you suffer. The only problem was not that the salad tasted of absolutely nothing, just to make sure that it meets the standard set by my absolutely tasteless vegetable so-called Thai-Curry.. but there were apparently also some rotten parts involved in it, which gave us headache and moreover tummy ache only later. I had to laugh at myself afterwards for carefully asking if my Thai Curry was going to be too hot, because that kitchen had obviously run out of most basic salt and pepper, not to mention some of the fancy spices Weltladen could have in its porfolio. I had a few bites and gave up at the point when the photo was taken. And then I wondered again, why is it not generally acceptable behaviour to send food back just on the basis of absolute lack of features that make food enjoyable? I couldn't complain that I found a hair or a spider leg, but this was also legitimate enough. Instead, we paid 17 eur for an attempt to eat and quickly switched to Francais to overwrite the experience with some low-risk quiche. By the way, the sofas are cosy to chill on for hours and the flair would have been enjoyable too, if only the food was edible. However, this place seems to be so well-frequented that I only suppose the others don't mind.

Their brunch on Sunday is simply AMAZING! So much choice, so much taste, with cold and warm dishes inspired from all around the world (from England to India through Mediterranean countries)... But alone for their delicious coffee or their chai tea latte (with soy milk!) this friendly and homey café has been the highlight of the past weeks - and I'm pretty sure it will be yours as well if you try it... You can have your drinks to go, and with the fidelity after 10 drinks you'll get one for free! :D Plus, it's all fair trade and bio: you will have the nice feeling of scoring a good deed! I'll definitely be back :)

I really had a great time here and i would recommend it to anyone. It has two different parts that creates to different atmospheres. In the standard part with table and chairs for eating, you will enjoy a pleasant environment to enjoy the great food they have to offer. However if you use the other part which sofa and coffee tables, you will find the environment much more relaxed and very enjoyable for beverage drinking and chatting. My Personal points system out of 10, standard for Vienna is 5. Location: 7 Atmosphere: 8 Decor: 7 Size: 7 Non Smoking Area: Yes Coffee temperature(*2): 7 Coffee taste: 7 Service(*1): 9 *1=(Standard in Vienna is 5 on my scale) this is based on that you get serviced fast but you have to work hard to pay at the end) *2=(Standard in Vienna is 5 on my scale) I always have a Caffè latte as my control coffee. My coffee partner always has a Mélange.

This is a great spot to just kick back and enjoy a coffee, tea, beer or even a tasty breakfast. I say breakfast as I haven't tried anything else. This is my go to breakfast location and they aim to please. My favorite is the English breakfast, but they do have a large menu with lots of other options. But like any other favorite once you find something you don't want to switch it for anything else.

The brunch buffet at this place is so over the top that it (almost) brings tears to my eyes. Usually a big buffet means subpar quality but not at this place. Everything tasted amazing, especially the falafels, masala rice balls, (simply) scrambled eggs(!!), bread pudding... Wow. What massive flavor. Mexican coffee as recommended by other yelpers was also great. Service is really freaking excellent and they have an English menu.

Sometimes I like to eat at this place, sometimes I dont! I like the cafe itself, has a friendly environment! I like the way they work also. Since it is near the university mostly students are going there but I must say that the prices are not that cheap, however they have good offers for lunch for around 6.90€ soup and the dish included. They have different kinds of hot chocolates, like spicy ones! Very interesting! As its name their menu is not stuck on one cuisine, but many different ones. Time to time they also have special weeks like Mexican week and etc. In the summer you can sit outside and enjoy coffee under the sun! It is a worth trying cafe!

Cosy, comfortable, also very convenient. The breakfast menus always get me: Whichever one you pick, comes with a hot or cold beverage of your choice, free of charge (save a few premium drinks). My favorite has to be the english breakfast, which comes sizzling hot in a pan. The place is almost always packed, but I wouldn't hold that against them. The food is super delicious, and just as healthy. So If you're nearby, and are eager to enjoy something good food without hating yourself afterwards, this is the place.

Me and my wife came here for breakfast because of positive reviews. Sadly we were very disapointed. We ordered 2 breakfast meals. Nepal breakfast and fit breakfast. The dishes are very poor and not so tasty. The vegetables were not fresh to say the least. The musli was very nice and so was the hot chocolate. Prices are reasonable but not worth comming here especially. Tables are not cleaned between costumers, only re arranged. You get to enjoy the previous customer's bread crumbs.

Welt cafe has a very interesting, very diverse menu irrespective of the time of day that you go in for a meal. Their breakfast/brunch spread is massive and tastes great. Their food menu has something in it for everyone and it's mindful of different intolerances/sensitivities. It's the perfect place for a pre-party dinner because the music and atmosphere is young and fun in the late evening. It's high up on my list of favourite restaurants in Vienna :)

The Weltcafe is a nice, chill place to hang out for food, drinks or just coffee and chatting. It's conveniently lcoated near Schottentor and just off the busy mainstreets of the area. The customers are mainly young, student-type, fairtrade fans, and the service is fast and friendly. I tried the red beet gnocchi and my husband tried a sandwich. My gnocchi didn't look like gnocchi, but were still very tasty. The sandwich was a bit lackluster. Homemade chips were a plus. A friend of ours ordered the Nepal breakfast (for dinner:) and it looked amazing! The prices are decent and they have a nice happy hour from 8-11. Only real complaint I have is the bathroom experience. Utterly disgusting.

Amazing food, drinks and service. They had an English menu which was helpful. We had a tofu salad and muesli and pancake breakfast - so delicious. Would definitely come here again and worth the short walk!!

Nice atmosphere, student prices, and very interesting coffees (e.g. pepper and cloves). I'll definitely go there again!

Quick update, while the food is good and the service is nice, the inside of this cafe is just not comfortable. If all the tables with real chairs are full, then your forced to sit at either uncomfortable booths or on awkwardly low stools. Meh, call me old fashion but I like real seats.
