This has been our first year with a short term rental and everyone at We Need a Vacation has been beyond helpful. I had heard wonderful things about the platform but did not realize the extent of it. I use this platform for my vacation house. I decided to get this service to take some pictures of the house. I paid them a full rate. When I requested my pictures, I found out I have to pay an extra $20 us per photo to use in my own website. The use of the photos is only for their website www.weneedavacation.com and not only that, on top of this, you have to pay for extra photos to publish on their platform.

I rented a home in Calumet in September and after my daughter and I flew across country and arriving at the home.. it was a disaster.. not able to stay in this dirty.filthy home. Called owner and Weneedavacation, the owner never has replied and Weneedavacation staff, although nice was "very sorry". Tough luck...!!! We had to find accommodations to stay on a Friday night at the Cape... Not an easy task. I am hoping to get my money back, but doubt that will happen. Disappointing that Weneedavacation does not vet the homes better.

I have been using this site exclusively for our Cape Cod Vacation Rental for over 5 years and we are booked solid every summer. WeNeedaVacation has everything you would expect from a family owned and operated business and more. I also own and operate a NH vacation rental.Unfortunately,WeNeedaVacation advertises only the Cape and Islands vacation rental properties so I have no other choice but to advertise with VRBO, HomeAway, FlipKey, TripAdvisor and now AirBnB. I can tell you first hand that none of these companies can even comes close to the degree of satisfaction I feel from using WeNeedaVacation. I cannot sing enough praise and I will never use any other vacation website for our Cape rental as long as these wonderful and respected business owners own this company.

This is a local family owned business. I have been renting my property with their assistance for several years. They give you their personal attention and advice. If you are a renter, I am sure they will be equally available to you with questions, tips on how to find a rental property that suits your needs, and how to navigate the area you are visiting. The purpose of We Need a Vacation is to connect property owners with renters. Because We Need a Vacation is a small, family run business, they have a good idea how to make you and your family happy with a rental and they will do all to assist you with that project.

This is my third summer using weneedavacation.com as a way to rent out my little cottage in Bourne. I have rented all but one week so far with little trouble. The staff could not be more accommodating... and the website is chock-full of helpful tips from how to price the rental to knowing how to attract the kind of renters who will love renting my home... and discourage the kind who will not be happy there. They also provide great advocacy and tell me when I need to write to my legislators on specific topics that impact the tourism market. Oh, and the price of using weneedavacation.com beats heck out of real estate agent fees. 'Love 'em!

I've used this vacation rental site to advertise my Cape Cod beach house for many years and have been so impressed with their wonderful service and professional business model. Their web based services are priced fairly and they do not attempt to control the communication between owners and their guests, nor do they charge vacationers who book on their site "Service Fees" (as greedy corporate giants VRBO and HomeAway do.) I sincerely hope and pray they never sell out to the big time greedy corporate giants.

The vacation listing service We Need a Vacation which serves Cape Cod, Ma. and the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard has become a true salvation for both vacation home owners and vacationers alike. Now that Expedia has bought nearly all the listing services such as Home Away, VRBO, Vacation Rentals.com, created a monopoy( and imposed additional fees to renters, strong=armed owners to use their book on line,) its. profits have magnified to the detriment of all concerned. These sites effectively block any essential personal interaction between owners and renters until they have rental fees in hand. Read hundreds of negative reviews on every rating site. If it were not for WNAV I would no longer rent my cottage after 20 years of prior success. This family owned company charges NO fees to renters, provides valuable information, tips, news and services to owner/subscribers and renters as well, The integrity, intelligence and service of WeNeedaVacation cannot be matched and deserves to be the first and only place to find a vacation rental or list one's property.

I have been using weneedavacation.com to rent out two homes on the Cape during the spring/summer/fall months for several years. I also use HomeAway. I love weneedavacation. The owners - Joan and Jeff Talmadge - are wonderful, always available with insights or advice, and honest, forthright people. I can't stand HomeAway anymore, but still use them because I do get bookings through them. Right now it's about 50/50 WNAV/HA. But as soon as the corner turns and the majority of my listings come from weneedavacation, I won't hesitate to drop HA. It is very important to me that I establish good communication with people wishing to rent either of my properties, so that we can both be sure it is the right place for them. That is encouraged with WNAV, and now almost impossible with HA. We homeowners on the Cape are extremely lucky to have weneedavacation, but so are renters. The listings are exactly the same, but WNAV doesn't charge a so-called "Service Fee" to renters and doesn't put up barriers to communication between renters and owners.

I have used WeNeedaVacation.com for BOTH listing a rental property and for renting vacation properties for about 10 years now. The web site connects renters with the rental property owners directly. I personally have never experienced any issues with renting. As a rental property owner I can honestly say the staff at WeNeedaVacation are extremely helpful, professional. If you have never rented a property before - this is the place to come. As a renter - we have used the site to rent property in Florida when they had Florida listed. I dealt directly with the Florida rental property owner and everything was as expected. I love this web-site and refer my personal family and friends to this site to look for vacation rental properties. They all have had great experiences. The only tip I would personally make if you are booking a vacation and you will have a lot of questions -- try to book a vacation rental that the "owner" is the actual the rental contact instead of a real estate professional who may handle the rental for a client through this site. Why? Well, my friends that had detailed questions about maybe a room set up (I.e. For a baby pack and play) or for more detail on a 1st floor bedroom type question they found the realtor sponsored vacation rentals did not know all the details and there were delays in getting the information from the realtor. Where if they had the owner directly - there questions were answered fast, efficient. A majority of the listings are owner direct already. I personally no longer enjoy staying in a hotel on vacation, I prefer renting a house or condo. I find with children you really need the kitchen. Plus you get so much more room and you get outdoor space. I have found that it is actually cheaper renting a house on a beach then staying at a hotel. The house has no daily hotel amenities charge, no parking fees, your not tipping anyone etc. When my friends ask me don't you miss room service? I reply, at 2am when I want a snack and there is no room service NO. Plus, that's why there is local food delivery for the days you prefer not to cook or I can eat at a local restaurant of choice. I have used WeNeedaVacation for several years to rent out my two Cape Cod homes during high season. I find them to be a wonderful family-run company, very much on top of things, and always willing to help and advise when asked. Now that the other site where I list has instituted a "Service Fee", payable by the renter, of between 4-10%, I am steering renters as much as possible to WeNeedaVacation, which has exactly the same listings, and does not charge the renter any fees. I would advise anyone looking for a Cape Cod rental to use the WeNeedaVacation site.

I used this site for a last minute vacation. Be warned. They do NOT check up on the listings which are done by people owning the rentals. I choose a small rental near the beach. It was near the beach. Advertised first floor was really basement. Site told me I should know that first floor means basement. I thought it meant first floor. Only windows in bedroom could be open. Dinning was on a counter facing a wall. I ate in nice garden but table there was never cleaned. I was charged for linens although ad said they were included. I did get my money back for that. Screen door so difficult to open that it was unpleasant. I was expected to run dehumidifier and empty it since place was damp. Owner lived in home which had 3 rentals. Her response to questions regarding restaurants, etc was: "haven't you been here before?" I was sent 12 miles away to get something faxed when there was a place 1 mile from house. Owner could not have been less helpful. Owner was Stout. Skip her rentals and use site with caution. I have rented on the cape for many years. I never had any problem until now.
