Ok place to run. Beautiful outlook on general except for the homeless tents under the arches and muddy sections underfoot despite no rain for weeks

Great little gem right near the city. Wonderful green park with great view of trams going over the viaduct. Easy access by the above mentioned tram and just a really nice place.

Green but not much to do if thee is not game

Not the best fields in the world, if there's even a drop of rain you can count on them being closed, but when they're open they're flat, very little holes, and decently maintained. Great for oztag or a kick around.

A nice weekend park to get away from the crowd. Nice for a picnic after buying at the fish market.

great park to play soccer with a soccer ball with your team, i would recommend mouth guards and boots to play soccer with your team at this ground.

Like horse racing but less glamourous and the races are over in less than a minute. And there aren't any jockey's. Which is unfortunate, because I think that would be quite entertaining (just need even small jockeys than horse racing ones), although PETA might get their knickers in a twist if that were to happen. Situated a short stroll from the city near Sydney Fish Markets, Wentworth Park is Sydney's premier greyhound racing track, with meetings taking place on Friday and Saturday nights and entry to the track is only $5.50 for adults - obviously it will probably end up cost you a lot more, but there's always the chance you might come out with a profit! If you're into having a punt, this is a fun way to do it, and being there definitely gives it a more respectable feel than losing your money in the pub TAB!

Greyhound racing, what a bizarre, slightly disturbing micro-world! But it was an Ultimo experience that had to happen, so one Saturday night my friends and I headed to the dogs. Actually, I think greyhound betting has almost become a bit hipster, so there was this odd assortment of people at Wentworth Park that night: inner city trendies alongside inner city oldies, the latter of which have been betting for decades on greyhounds (and all manner of things, I imagine). You can have a beer, have a cheap punt, study the form guide, and every now and then watch some dogs speed around the track. While Wentworth Park has a big grand-stand, most people mill around the front, next to the track, or inside, staring at the TAB screens. It's kind of a sad place to be, with a bit of angsty gambling to watch ... but we had fun nonetheless. It's almost all outdoors, so not a great place to hang out on a rainy night. We had a beautiful summery evening, and it was novel to sit out on plastic chairs underneath floodlights, drinking bevvies and making uninformed judgments on how fast canines can run. Punting tip: Number 1 always gets it. Well, actually, this rule put my partner back about $40, but he stills swears by it.

I'll be honest. Whilst I don't mind the odd flutter on the horses, the greyhounds have never really interested me but after going there one Saturday night, that could all change! Located at Wentworth Park near the Sydney Fish Markets in Pyrmont is a cute little dog track that I must admit had more people that I had thought would be there. It was actually a nice family vibe with kids running around everywhere but also quite a few birthday and bucks parties. There's function areas that can be booked where you can enjoy a meal from the restaurant or as you'd expect plenty of places to have a kebab or hot dog (no pun intended). There was some old and obscure memorabilia to take as a souvenir from the night too and add to that a winner or two and a night at the greyhounds is sure to be a bit of fun!
