Why Shanghai’s rejuvenated Huangpu riverfront is worth checking out - SilverKris

"A recent riverside development that blends art-led urban regeneration with landscaped public amenities, featuring running tracks, repurposed industrial structures and emerging galleries; despite wintry conditions it attracts locals for outdoor exercise and cultural visitation, highlighting how large industrial spaces have been converted into creative uses." - SilverKris

Opinion: Art buyers should spend more time with the galleries and artists - SilverKris

"One of the prominent Shanghai fairs that, together with others in the city, creates a crowded calendar for galleries and collectors. Its presence illustrates how multiple fairs in the same market force galleries to make strategic choices about where to exhibit and how to allocate resources during overlapping fair seasons." - Mrigaa Sethi

Around the Center you will find standalone containers and buildings hosting an assortment of galleries and studios, each with its own charm. Free to wander about, and some of the galleries also offer free admission. Great way to spend a lazy afternoon if you're in the area, and it doesn't get crowded at all (despite being free!), actually enjoyed the exhibitions here more than the ticketed ones in the surrounding museums.

The area is pretty much closed, I think it used to be with installations but no longer. The opposite side has been developed close to the bund, the rest of the area is now a new construction area. Worth to visit but you won’t find anything in the containers. There is a huge hall which was an airplane manufacturing side.

Really airy, industrial, warehouse-type art exhibition tied to the Centre Pompidou, located right by the Huangpu River as part of a new sprawling arts complex in Shanghai. You can easily walk through the museum within 1.5–2 hours; the selection of artworks is small, but high-quality all around. There’s also a great cafe by the entrance for refreshments before or after your visit. Unfortunately there’s no gift shop, but there’s a decently-sized store for coffee-table books and more serious art anthologies.

There were good shows but the show time scheduling was a mess. The receptionist could not explain anything properly which left us so confused 😵‍💫 No one reminded us backpacks were not allowed and had to be stored in lockers when visiting the showrooms when we got our tickets at the reception until the moment we were about to enter the showroom 😓

Went to the West Bund Artistic center for the TeamLab show and it was awesome. Tickets were 180rmb for adults, but then you can spend as much time as you want int the exhibits. It was fun to play around with the interactive waterfall and see the wave exhibit. Since the center is situated in some old water tanks the team was play around with the idea of water in their work.

Lots of art galleries, you need a day to slowly walk around and explore. if you like modern art and installations this is the place for you. Bldgs are not that close to each other. its interesting to see. hoewever there are not much places to sit and have a snack.

Horrible place. Rude front desk. Don’t waste your time and money on it.

Gonna say one of the best contemporary arts museums in Shanghai, although I’ve seen most parts of the collections this time back in New York. Great location and nice views. Won’t be crazily crowded like Whitney or MoMa. However, sort of tricky to find the entrance which is located at the backside of the building next to the river.
