I'm partly reluctant to share how awesome this spot is so everyone doesn't flock there but it was just too superb not to review. We stayed as a family of five in the Conran Creek cabin and it was very well appointed with two bedrooms and an outdoor spa. Everything we needed for self catering was available to us. The entire cabin was filled with a vast array of woods and showcased handcrafted beds and other furniture that the owner Mick made. This made the experience quite special.||It was quiet and secluded so we felt we were all alone in a rural setting. There were ostriches on site as well as kangaroos in the paddock in front of the cabin most mornings. And our toddler was safe to play outside without the fear he would get run over! ||We will return to this very relaxing and welcoming place.

If you want peace and quiet and a closeness to nature, these cabins and the homestead are PERFECT! My friends and I stayed in the very comfortable and adequately self-catering Conran Cabin. We looked out over grasslands and were delighted by bird life, a goanna and kangaroos at dusk. Not to mention the resident ostriches which wandered the paddock gracefully. A lovely local lady for Orbost came and gave us all massages, make sure you ask if this can be arranged during your stay. A short walk to the pristine coastline which is practically at your front door. Hosts Mick and Darryl are lovely and the workmanship and detail which have gone into the cabins are astonishing. Would recommend to anyone who is after an authentic bush/coastal retreat. We will be back :)

There were 14 of us staying at West Cape for a Christian Men's camp. We booked out the whole place, the two large houses, and the two cabins. They are fantastic! I stayed in the main house, which has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. but could sleep about 14 I think, in queen size beds, and bunks. The cabins have 2 bedrooms. All have solid fuel heaters, and are very cozy. The owner has built these cabins/ houses with local timbers, and they are very rustic, with local art on the walls. There are lots of Mod cons, like TV and stereo, mobile phone reception is pretty well non existent! Gee what a shame :) There are all sorts of things to do, such as pool, cricket, etc. There are 2 outside fire pits to sit around on a cool evening, and have a yarn! There are also some ostriches there, and you can arrange to give them a meal if you like! There is also a 20 minute walk to the beach, which is secluded and private. If it's in the summer, watch out for snakes! I could say plenty more about this very cool place, but why not check it out for yourself! Great place to visit. Oh.. I nearly forgot the hot tubs!!

We were booked into West Cape Cabins for 4 nights but, unfortunately, had to leave after one. Mick was very gracious about this and we are grateful. We were staying in 'Salmon Rocks' and found this cabin to be very clean and well appointed. It is very cosy with great attention to detail - the woodwork is excellent! I would have loved to have a tour of the surrounds and met with the ostriches - there is enough here to keep you occupied and relax at the same time. We will definitely be back for a return visit in the near future. I would recommend this stay to those who like to get away from it all for a while.

We camp at Cape Conran every year and drive past on the way. We checked out of the campground a day early due to forecast rain. Just off the main road but very secluded. There are 3 cottages - all extremely well appointed with even the fireplace set up ready to go! The cottages are well separated from each other so you feel as if you have the whole place to yourself. Very close to the beach. There are a couple of hiking tracks on the property. We even had our own Jacuzzi and BBQ!

We stayed in the homestead there were 10 adults and 3 children with us and there was plenty of room in the house with all conveniences. It was rustic in a rural setting with beautiful views from the large deck. Great wood fired pizza oven and large outdoor fire pit to sit around in the evenings. There was also plenty to do around area swimming, fishing bush walking and relaxing. I recommend this for people's that like peace and quit and the outdoors.

Cowrie Bay cottage is very rustic but provides all you need for a few dog friendly days in the bush. Beds were comfy, all linen provided, well insect proofed and all you could need in the kitchen. Fenced off very well which is a necessity as dog still came home attached to several big ticks and the surrounding bushland is littered with fox baits so you can't let the dog roam free. If you care about having uninterrupted mobile and net reception or up to date furnishings this is not the place for you. It is very weather dependent so if you are not a fishing type, bring something else to do.

This is an amazing place in a hideaway what seems like the middle of nowhere. The cabins are beautiful and rustic. Built from hardwoods cleared from the site and appointed with all the cabiny/kitchen/entertainment things you expect in a self contained house. But the best part (and there is 2 of them) is firstly the hospitality is extraordinary...the fire is stoked and ready, the spa warm and inviting, spare firewood at your door and the second thing is that you could be in the middle of nowhere. You cannot see or hear any other cabins and there is certainly no one else nearby so you get to hear the wildlife, the ocean in the distance. We wanted to stay longer.
