West Coast Community Centre

I dropped by this morning (20-Jul-25) from 10:30am to 1pm for some table tennis—8 tables, pretty lively atmosphere. Ran into a bunch of old friends from the BMCC crew before it closed down. Great to catch up! I heard that this table tennis session is held every Sunday as long as no other event is planned in the hall. A little bit hot though since no Aircon.

Counter lady is presumptuous and makes uncalled for comments. Quite rude. The aircon in the library is often left blasting at night. The best thing is Ms Joy who teaches ballet with passion and kindness.

Exchanged my steps tracker there by appointment. Had my trace together token exchanged due to flat battery too. A convenient and airy space. There is a fast food outlet there. There are ATM machines around too. A good location to book private hired cars too.

Review: September 2022 Staff at the CC are polite & helpful & hope that it remains such. The management should regulate training offen & remind their role in community center . The facilities are getting better and useful for all. The POSB VTM alongside the ATM'S. Video teller machine (VTM) is an electronic banking outlet that allows customers to complete basic transactions, request banking services or receive immediate assistance with the help of live video conferencing consultation with a remote bank teller. Review : November 2021 The staff working aren't trained well in their interacting skills , more offen than not during my visits which I've noticed. Just as I was registering my entry, distance away from those seated staff & they questioned me as to what I wanted . The committee club is obviously for everyone who needs to be updated or for a particular cause. The staff should be well mannered & ethical to handle any visitor , by NOT being prejudice.

There is a basketball court, badminton court, comics library, POSB ATM and a Burger King outlet which is popular with the local residents. Next to the community club is a Chinese temple and opposite is the West Coast Plaza. After crossing the carpark, there is a West Coast Food Centre where sumptuous food is available.

The way our west coast library operates is a waste of electricity and public funds. Is the GRC too rich? Visited on 27 Aug 24, the air con was blasting in the library even though no passioncard library members were inside. Even if a resident wanted to enter the underutilised library, you must be a paying Passioncard member, and wait for weeks for the membership to be processed before you can enter the library. This kind of wasteful and exclusive pattern should be discouraged, and more of us should write in to complain to our MP for added effect. The CC should either publicise the library to all to make the electricity usage worth, or switch off until some resident signs in.

This CC Organize of activies especially the SDO-Senior Digiter Office The staff there teach us a lot of digital knowledge, I have learned a lot. Thank you. 加油！ 🙂

Situated near the bus stop & various shops & eateries. Near temple also. Lifts to cross over to the mall across the road.
