I purchased a voucher for a 2 night stay and a zodiak tour a few years ago and found it recently. I contacted the hotel to ask about redeeming it and if there's anything they could do. They replied and said it had expired and that's it, nothing else they could do.
I replied stating that in BC, vouchers & gift cards cannot expire, I sent them the relevant sections of the BC Consumer Act, and asked again if there's anything they could do to help.
They replied and said it was expired and nothing they could do about it. I had thought they would credit the amount paid towards a stay, or helped in any way, but they didn't.
They ignored several other emails, including emails requesting the legal owner, and the address for filing of a claim.
The only recourse I've had to do now is lodge complaints with the Consumer Protection BC, and file a law suit to recover the amount I paid. I'm out from a voucher that was worth $500.
0/5 - Would not recommend.
