West End Trading Company

I've been here a few times before with some friends and for the live music. It's a good spot imo and worth checking out if. Drinks weren't bad at all. Plus the stage area is sweet. Didn't have any issues either with the other Folk (sometimes some get rowdy, you know?) so all good there. Lastly, they put up some pretty talented musicians. Last time I came by the Add Hawks were in town and I really enjoyed hearing them. Shared some pics of them in action; great band. I didn't have any food so can't mention anything there. But, this is a solid spot to spend the night if you're looking for something fun to do that's pretty laid back.

Loved the decor throughout the place. Had my first sunshine bomb here. It was pretty good. Also, they have plenty of TVs if you're looking to catch a game or 2

Love this place. Stopped in on Saturday afternoon for a beer. It was pretty busy but we got served immediately. Somehow they offer a $4 IPA on tap, so we got that. There was live music in the front, and they were setting up for a band in the back, and there’s a game room in the middle. There seemed to be plenty of servers during our entire stay. I’m sure we’re coming back.

We love going to West End ! We never go down town without stopping here. The wings are so yummy. We love the music but most of all love the beer pong table! Highly recommend putting this on the list.

Great staff, Great Regulars, Great Venue, Brilliant evening!! We went for the Outtatime Event, drove up from Kissimmee, well worth the trip. We were on vacation from England, and I guarantee next time we are in FL, we are going to the West End TC. Please say Hi to Gary and the cigar gang outside.

Visited to see Soulswitch and a few other local bands. I've never been to Westend & I was looking forward to checking the place out. I bought tickets online in advance which was a super easy & efficient transaction. Found the venue easily enough even as a first time visitor. Employee at the door was friendly, quickly found my tickets and provided wristbands for entry. Inside the music space, it's dark and standing room only (at least for this show). I noticed a few guests found some seats around the perimeter of the room. There's a small bar & restrooms near the stage The show was great and the sound quality was very good, no complaints. I really enjoy smaller venues with artists who interact with the crowd. It makes the event so much more enjoyable and memorable. When I left the show and exited through the front room, I noticed the vibrant scene of 20-something's laughing & having a great night while the DJ played electronic music. The place was really packed! Definitely a spot to check out if you're looking for some night life in Sanford.

Legitimately disgusting If you want fast food - go ahead But this place is a disgrace. Wings were nasty. Fries were still freezing, wrap was cold and dry No waitresses or hostess Place is an absolute disaster - RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN I'd rather eat at the local shelter

We went here to see the Rocky horror picture show, which was an amazing performance. The actors were super diverse and very talented. We enjoyed the theater, even though it's a little small, but it's very personal, which makes for a great experience. The only thing was that it was very hot and the theater and wish the AC was a little bit stronger Snacks and drinks, nostalgic, classic theater vibe.

West End is one of my favorite local bars! I've visited multiple times and it's always a great time. West End has great deals, offer live music on certain days, have plenty of room to sit inside or outside. It's a really nice vibe. The service is always good too! Definitely worth a visit.

Local bar in Sanford. Live music in the back room. We came here last night to see Liliac. A band of brothers and sisters from Los Angeles California. There were two other bands before them and we noticed right away that the sound was not good. The back area is pretty nice with a pretty good size stage. The other room has a few games and a bar and then as you go into the other room there's another bar with tables. Sometimes they have a band in the front as well. They have a good happy hour. This bar has been here for a very long time. It's what you would call I guess a Dive bar. I don't go here much but I was happy to see one of my favorite bands right in my own backyard. Thank you West End. On the weekends in Sanford it can get pretty busy so get there early to get a good parking spot there is street parking and also a parking lot right next to the West End. All the other bars and restaurants are all in walking distance. You can easily spend 3 to 4 hours checking out all Sanford has to offer.

Used to go here from 2015-2019 before Covid. Ever since then, the place has become mainstream as all get out. Yeah the locals still fill it up every week, but they have a limited 2for1 schedule now and the concerts there basically create an atmosphere that is extremely unwelcoming if you aren't attending! lol...all good, they are good people who are always respectful and hard working!

Amazing people behind the bar!! The bartender we had was working her first day. I was asking about the drafts and she let me try some of the different draft options they have. There is a small stage in the front for bands to play. The music was a mix of reggae and alternative music so it was right up my alley. Cool vibe with cool artwork. The outside does not do this place justice!! Happy hour is amazing. Bogo on everything!!

Was harassed for having a West Virginia drivers license when trying to buy a drink. Bar tender and manager were both on power trips. Wish I could leave a zero star review.

The West End Trading Company is a staple here in Sanford Florida. You have not gone "bar hopping" in Sanford unless you popped in here for the best deal in town. Two-For-One-Drinks until 7:00pm Daily. The West End always has some of the best brewed beers on draft. Most of the Brew's are $5 to $5.50 so that is a great deal compared to most other establishments in the area. The West End is also Pet friendly so don't leave your best friend at home. This is a Dive bar so it is not fancy by any means (especially the bathrooms). However, the West End Trading Company is one of Sanford's largest contributors to community gatherings/events and without their support, we would not be doing as well as we have over the past 10 years. Additionally, the West End is the only other venue in the area (other than the Alley) who brings in the variety of musicians and bands from across the country whom play "original music". Great job! On 11-24-19, We stopped in for Sanford's Annual Sofa and Suds hosted by A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan. The address for the event was 202 S. Sanford Ave which is the West End Trading Company's address. The VIP area which included all the contestants prep stations, tents and conveyances were actually on West Ends Property, so I guess I am giving the West End props for this review. Tom and Dan's Sofas and Suds has been going on in Sanford for several years now. This time around it was located on Palmetto and 2nd street. This is an event that seems to get bigger every year. Local businesses race modified couches against one another in an effort to secure the Sofa and Suds trophy and bragging rights until the next annual event. People from all over Florida come to see this event and it is a great time to meet local peeps in the process. I love that we are able to just grab a beer or drink of choice and walk around the event to mingle with other event goers. There are several bars, breweries and restaurants in the immediate location that visitors can patron as well. The event started at 2pm and went on until 6pm. I like that fact that there are breaks in between races that allow for ample time to grab another Brewskie. I also enjoyed that there are multiple viewing locations available to see the race. If you have never been to this event, definitely mark you calendar for this time next year. If you have never visited the West End Trading Company or even heard of them, look them up and stop in for a visit on you next trip to Sanford.

Food was good, ambience brought me back to my 20'a and the boho was fun! Full bar and great service!

Disclaimer - Review is based on seeing a show here. Came here for the Kashd Out - Christmas show. Pretty cool spot to see live music. Line wasn't long and moved quickly. Got carded and 21+ wristband on way in. There's a front area and a back area. The front area had a bar, a very small stage with live music, and bathrooms. The back room was where the larger stage was and where the concert took place. Fairly small, intimate setting. Place was packed! Glad I got there early to get a spot near the front. Show was sold out and it seemed several people couldn't find room in the actual back area and just hung out by the front bar where the view is very limited. Only had 2 beers, as I didn't want to fight the crowd over and over again. Really enjoyed the show and exploring downtown Sanford and the surrounding bars! Would definitely come back for another.

I am a local and used to come here all the time. The service is always great and dished out with a smile. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. The food is pub food so don't expect a lot but there is variety to pick from. It is served kiosk style and you order From your table (very convenient). I did find it expensive for what it is. I ordered a Hawaiian Teriyaki Hot dog. It came out luke warm rubbery and had NOTHING of what it was supposed to have: Hawaiian teriyaki slaw, habanero mango hot sauce. I upgraded to onion rings cause they were supposed to have some aioli drizzle... nothing. It took two tries to correct the plate. Onion rings were soggy so I just left them. The hotdog although cold was all beef so I ate it but not even the little tub of aioli helped the onion rings. For $14.00 I expected better. So in closing, go for the drinks and scratch the food. The place is a locals hangout but people are friendly. The ambiance is extremely casual so no need to put on your best. It's not a date night sort of place. If you sit outside on occasion you will be panhandled for booze, smokes or money..not very appealing but maybe it happens to me cause I'm a local. Even still, it is not appreciated.

First time at West End last night. Very impressed with the service, drink options, specials, and wings. The wings were phenomenal. We will definitely be back.

Can't recommend more! The service at this bar is immaculate, the workers seem to really enjoy working here and that adds to the positive vibes throughout the whole bar. Really small town feel during the day where everyone knows everybody and it's nice. At night the bar livens up a lot with ages 25-45 and sometimes older. You have to come try their Sunshine State Bomb and their Astro Bomb shot, really cool neat shots and it's like the staple in downtown Sanford. The security guards are also extremely strong so be careful if you try to start a ruckus. Good luck finding parking in the area, but if you're drinking anyway consider taking an Uber or Lyft. Also a neat little change they've had recently is if you open a tab at West End it cares over to their bar next door at Wild West End Honkytonk Saloon so that saves time for the bartenders which makes the drinks being served faster for us! They also have a Venue where they have live bands play shows and also an additional stage at the front for Karaoke and single performers which is neato! Again if you've made it this far reading this I can't recommend it more!

This place is out of control, the staff was completely intoxicated tonight... my boy, and I came in at 1 AM... him and I got two beers... my friend got cut off for absolutely no reason... when their entire staff was completely drunk... the girl that was dressed in white. Went into the back to do whatever I don't know... but they were intoxicated... while cutting off my friend... something is wrong here... I understand cutting off people at certain points, but my boy was nowhere near being drunk. Bad establishment.

We initially visited this spot because they were supposed to reggae night and it is local. We walked in through the back door and the smell was very funky. We walked out of the front door. Perhaps it was an off night but the atmosphere was off, there was no reggae and it seemed like maybe a bunch of regulars with no room for newbies.

This review is based solely on the drinks and the service. With that being said, this is a great place to hangout. Staff was super friendly and talkative and the margarita I had was awesome. Music is also great. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to just hangout.

I have literally heard about this bar for years from some of my friends but was able to venture in finally when I was in downtown Sanford for the Battle of the Food Trucks yesterday. It was pretty crowded due to the event so it's hard for me to say how it is on a normal basis. But there were some positives for this dive bar. The drinks were cheap, we got double rum and cokes for $4. And we heard while we were there that Bud Light was 2 for 1 so that's a pretty good deal. Also, our drinks were STRONG. I appreciate a good strong and cheap drink! There were 3 rooms that we saw. One had what I can only describe as a punk band playing. Not our scene. The other room had some game tables but was virtually empty. And the third room had the bar and was definitely crowded, probably due to the event. I would come back, I like a dive bar and I'd like to see how it is on a normal day/night.

I was out with my friends after enjoying a few libations and stumbled into this hip joint. West end? More like rear end. Smells like someone's ass. 5 stars.

The food service was terrible. The "Cook" was so obnoxious. Even the bar help tried to help. They couldn't get the card machine to work either. After working on it for 15 minutes of waiting/trying I decided to go somewher else. Then the cook says over my shoulder as I walked away "didn't want to cook for you anyway!". My wife and I paid our bar tab and left.

I'm in a wheelchair so I was looking for wings to roll. Knocked on door asked for menu, called number on menu ordered, server brought out food to go and I rolled. Great service kind and prompt. I got 5 wings, medium honey garlic with cheese sticks. Cheese sticks were pretty good, nothing insanely special, but cooked perfect from frozen. Wings were crispy, nice size. They could have used a bit more sauce but what was on them was sufficient and had fantastic flavor although I wish I would have got the hot honey garlic instead on medium for more bang to the wang. Over-all a great experience start to finish, bit pricey 5 for 10 or 10 for 18, but good wings are hard to find outside your home fryer. This place has amazing vibes and an outstanding atmosphere in and out. Highly recommended to stop and try out for drinks, food, and camaraderie. I bring my dog, but I hang outside.

Aaayyyoo the man who made our wings tonight needs a raise. Those are the best wings I've ever had in my life. Good lord!

DJ sucks. Cleared the room out but he doesn't seem to care "im a DJ" Music makes no sense. Plays 10 seconds of random genres.

This Sanford staple just got better! During the Covid 19 shutdown they gave the place a face lift. It looks clean and fresh and most important they no longer allow smoking. Smoking made West End a no go, but now it will become part of my circuit. They have 2 for 1 happy hour almost all day and the wings are tasty. They actively promote downtown Sanford and have lots of great local events and live music!

AMAZING STAFF!! Johnny and Jamal (and one more I unfortunately can't remember the name of) literally saved me from being sexually assaulted and my friends from being sexually harassed- they will ALWAYS look out for girls, they will ALWAYS look out for customers in peril. The bartenders make amazing drinks, and this is just an amazing atmosphere to be in. Great music, great drinks, an all around fun time! Best place on Sanford ace to visit :-)

West End is a dive bar located in the historic downtown Sanford area. I never venture into Sanford, really, but I met some friends here and was surprised at how popular this bar is! Showed up Saturday around 4pm and by 6pm the place was packed. I believe there was a band about to play in the back room (they have a lot of shows here). Bartenders are very friendly and there is a very good selection of beers on tap. I had a Fat Tire, Pacifico, Blue Point, and Woodchuck - all on draft. Happy hour is the way to go - 2-for-1 beers at prices that will not break your bank. (8 decent-sized draft beers for under 20 bucks) I didn't have any of the food, really, but my friends gave it good marks. If you are in Sanford and looking for a good dive bar, this is the place.

Nice bar located in Downtown Sanford near 1st street. This is not a small bar with three different rooms and two bars but the place was packed when I came here after Alive after 5. Service was pretty slow but once we got one to serve us after waiting prob 10-15 minutes around. The only reason I ended up here with my gf was because I got two cards for shots at this place,this was my first time and the place is old but inside it is decorated with posters and the have several TV's inside and even hade a trivia game that day. The drinks we got were good and the lady behind the counter was nice and friendly bit she was drinking and looked pretty waisted. Lots of alcohol to choose from and even pool table to play. Plenty of seating inside and out side. Support local business!

Fun place full of locals. Enjoyed the large selection of craft beers on tap. There are beer pong tables in the entry way if you're into that. Lots of people were playing. This bar has two sides and a middle area. There is a small concert venue on one side, a small entranceway bar area with cool murals above. Everything looks sort of unfinished, but I liked that. The larger bar area, on the other side of the place has small tabes and booths. I understand there is food served here, but I've only been in for hanging out and drinks. There are three bathrooms, ladies, men's, and a co-ed bathroom. Surprisingly, the co-ed one is the cleanest. The entryway has a vending machine with funny things like Advil, beef jerky, chips, and just random other things you might desperately need after a long night of drink indulgence. By the way, it smelled really smokey inside, so just warning anyone if they can't tolerate that. I didn't see people smoking inside, I think it was coming from the large crowds of people hanging out by both entryways. I really liked his place and the staff behind the bar and servers were so on it when it came to making sure you were well taken care of. Would come back again and hope to catch some shows here.

It seems like this is a dive bar that is on a free fall where the owner has no pride in the establishment . For starters the place has just One disgusting bathroom. How the owner is cool with the state of the bathroom and expects the female patrons to use it is beyond me. 2nd, the place is filled with cigarette Smoke. You will smell like smoke when you leave. Honestly i don't know how smokers do it. 3rd, the mixed drinks seemed extremely weak, not very good so after the first one we didn't order another. Beer in bottles were cold though so that was ok. We were there for a concert and arrived about 6:30 thinking we would hang out there while checking out the first few bands, just have some drinks and something to eat. Well after seeing the bathroom situation and the full on smoke filled bar there was no way we were going to hang out there or even test our luck with the food. So instead we walked around the area and found a cleaner smoke free place to have food and drinks while we waited. We went back to Westend and was told the main band won't be on till 10 so we left again and had a couple more drinks at another place until it was time for the band we wanted to see. We spent a good amount of money on food and drinks, unfortunately due to the smoke and bathroom none of that was spent at Westend Trading Company. There was no way in hell I would expect or let my girlfriend use that bathroom, no way I would trust the food, and on top of that sit in the smoky atmosphere. They need to step it up. I'm sure we aren't the only ones to show up for a concert only to leave and spend money elsewhere until the band comes on If a band that you want to see is there then I would go, but untill Westend gets updated I would recommend you have drinks and food someplace else until the band comes on.

Probably the coolest place in Sanford! Walked in and I was in love. Tons of craft beers! The one wall is covered in cool a Sweet Water Brewing Co. mural. I said I was from out of state and wanted the most local beer the had and the dude was super awesome and helped me find one I would like. I ended up with Orlando Brewing Company's Uncle Matts Grapefruit Ale. Super delicious! Also everyday they have a happy hour buy one get one for free anything on tap. I am in love. Also this bar is dog friendly!

West End is the staple dive bar in Sanford. It has a main bar area, game room to play beer pong, and a venue space for live music. They have a great selection of beer and liquor and serve as the anchor spot for many downtown Sanford events. Great place to end the night. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because it is a dive bar so it doesn't have the clean, nice environment of many of the surrounding bars in the area.

The drinks are strong and the live music was enjoyable. Very crowded and hard to get a drink. Another stop on the downtown dive bar tour. Not our favorite place, but certainly worth a brief stop for a good strong drink.

I stopped in with some friends on Saturday night while doing a downtown Sanford pub crawl. It was very low key, no live music on this night. I hate this place when they have live music for several reasons. The large room where the stage is set up is a hole - dark, dingy, SMELLY, last visit it wreaked of vomit... The acoustics in the stage room are awful, you can never hear the actual music, just loud noise. They also only have 1 bathroom per gender. Put 200 people in a venue with 1 toilet per gender, it gets really nasty really quick. However, on this particular night no live band = low key and tolerable atmosphere. My friends and I sat at the bar, bar tenders were super friendly and somewhat entertaining. We ordered some lite bites to help with the home stretch of our evening. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich (easy enough). My friends ordered a wrap with some fries. The wrap came out within about 5 minutes. My grilled cheese took almost 20 minutes to come out. Go figure. Not a bad place, just don't' expect to be comfortable or catered to if there is live music/a crowd.

If I could I would give this place no stars.It smells god awful, it smells like a sewage hole and it's remarkable that they have employees that come back to work like everything is okay.

One of my favorite hole in the walls in Sanford! The drinks are SO cheap and strong. I always let the bartender make me their fav and its always good. I also LOVE the wings, the housemade sauce em is the best!

Dive bar in Sanford that has two for ones until 7 pm. Rock, Metal and pop bands play in the back for a fee. Inside and outside seating. Smoking inside and outside so come prepared if you are not a smoker. The folks that come here are 20's to 30's. They have a few games inside and overall a fun atmosphere. Gets crowded on some weekends and their street parties are always a hit. I hope they will fix it up a little in the future.

My husband and I went to West End for a concert, which was touted as being smoke-free. Inside the first room, I was immediately greeted by a dog, someones dog, that wasn't leashed, and eventually got all the way inside. It was so smoky in the bar that I immediately felt bad for all of the animals trapped inside. Onto the second room, more smoke. Into the very overpriced concert, with one sign outside the last room and one sign inside stating "No Smoking'. And enter the concert area where people are smoking everywhere. (Did I mention I'm allergic to smoke?) The concert was to start at 6, 4 bands, so since it was 8, we left and went down the street to another bar (non-smoking!) and had a drink. Came back at 9, still not the band we were there to see, so we went to another bar (non-smoking!) and had a drink. Came back again and yet another band was setting up, but we decided to wait it out...until 10:45 when the final band finally went on. The sound for the first few bands was so loud and the treble was turned up way too loud it was annoying...couldn't hear anything those bands sang. Luckily, the got it right for the headline act. Security walked through several times and would tell 1 person there was no smoking, but walk right past the 5 others smoking without saying a word. I guess he tried? Just don't go expecting to have clean air. Would have loved to have gotten our money back for the concert, but since that was a no-go, we tried to tough it out for the show and only stayed for the first few songs because I was sick and miserable by then.

Awesome place, never understood why everyone thinks that being cold inside a bar is a thing.

This place has good, cheap drinks to grab when I am hanging out in Sanford for Open Mic Monday's or any of their other events. Fun to play games or watch tv. Wish it was more updated though and had a better food selection available!

Great vibes and has been the home for a lot of my bands shows! They always have some type of event going on and the staff is always friendly!

Came here for drinks while alive after five was winding down. Great lemon drops, and the bartenders are great. It turned out to be a good place for groups, and they didn't mind is pushing a few tables around so everyone could sit together.

Food? I have no clue but I totally dig the fact that this joint supports local music and I went for the local band showcase. The bartenders were uniformly friendly and knew their beers. The event staff seemed to have much enthusiasm and the guy working the door was hilarious. It was your typically bar. It smelled like you typically bar but the scene was pretty cool. I plan to come back and check out some more bands indeedy!

And just when I thought that there isn't anything to do in Sanford, I stumbled across this bar, in downtown Sanford of all places! I used to go out to downtown Orlando every time I thought night life, but this gem is where all the kids in Sanford have been hanging out at. Great beer selection, a really chill vibe, and a ton of people from my high school go here! I finally found something to do in Sanford!

My favorite local spot. Great food, great drinks, a pillar of the local music scene. My favorite place to gig and one of the best to catch a show.

My friends all like this place. I don't really. The place seems trashy to me. But there are always good bands and the beer is cheap. The people are all nice for the most part. If they spruced up the place a bit I would come back.

Sux. The bartenders are rude as hell. I can buy a beer in a lot of places in downtown Sanford. Why would I give these idiots my money?
