Everyone has a different experience in high school, and whether it aligned with their goals and experiences in life greatly influences their opinion (whether they peaked in high school or not). I have been to two high schools in my life, one in a poor city and one here. I would go back to the one in the poor city, despite the money issues. This school does not properly prepare you for college, has a bunch of racist faculty members (Hello Mrs. Fraser, thanks for calling Muslims barbaric! And only checking the non-white boys backpacks when candy went missing), and has very conservative policies (yes, girls' shoulders are definitely the problem for boys not studying, and the best way to handle "the problem" is definitely humiliating the girls!) Students end up thinking that the smartest time of their life was high school (I have to admit, their AP classes stimulated the college rigor very well), but the fact of the matter is that the school does not prepare you for college, despite the fact that half the teachers work in El Co because they are not paid well. This is a cookie cutter school and does not having anything different about them educationally, socially, or culturally. The only good thing are the other students in this school, but again, they are only a temporary factor. The students are the ones who created the schools good reputation. They are very studious, hardworking, and creative people. It might be because of the large immigrant population in the area. The kids have a great influence from their peers and their families. Anyways, 0/10, would not recommend...
