Beautiful room and super friendly people working there. Our room was truly amazing. The view from the room (nr5) over sea was gorgeous. The breakfast was lovely. I had salmon an two fried eggs that were especially made fresh for us by a lovely lady named Jean. I can definitely recommend this hotel, felt at home from the moment I set foot in there

Nice old fashioned hotel with spectacular views to the small isles from the rooms, terrace and restaurant. |Comfortable room with quality toiletries.|Easy parking.|Good service from friendly staff. |Surprisingly limited menu of typical pub food. ( I think that the previous chef had left.)

I visited the West Highland Hotel for an overnight stay travelling through Mallaig. I needed somewhere convenient for the station and the ferry port.||The hotel is in a fantastic elevated position with amazing views from many of the rooms across to Eigg, Rum and Skye, and I was treated to a fantastic sunset shortly after arrival.||The room was well appointed and had obviously been refurbished relatively recently. However there were a couple of niggles. The mattress on the bed wasn’t great and was a lot firmer on one side than the other - my guess is that with the room layout guests have often been sitting on one side of the bed to watch the TV - so the mattress could do with being rotated to spread the load so to speak! The other annoyance was that whilst the well equipped bathroom had a switchable overhead and handheld shower, at some point the control to switch to the overhead shower had come off and not been replaced, so it would be good if that could be fixed.||I ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast, both of which were tasty, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.||All in all a great place to stop off on my trip.

The hotel has a huge bar with great staff and a restaurant. The room was small and simple, the bathroom had a bath with a shower attachment, ample parking on site, wifi that worked well. ||The ferry to Skye is a five minute drive. The petrol station is also five minutes away - but has very odd daytime only hours. The railway station is a downhill walk away. Mallaig is small with lovely views of Skye to the west, very photogenic with the sun setting behind it.||The hotel dinner menu was a little unimaginative in my opinion. Staff were good.

What a nice hotel, perfect location. Bfast was lovely and staff great. Dinner was great until a large group came into the restaurant. Not the hotels fault but reined the romantic atmosphere. Amazing views from the restaurant ! Bedding was the most comfortable I have ever slept in! The only tiny issue I had was the menu showing in the lobby was different than provided in the restaurant

Just had a wonderful few days at the beautiful West Highland Hotel while attending the Mallaig Book Festival. Our studio room was spotlessly clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and views over to Skye. The food in the hotel was outstanding and the staff were super helpful and very friendly. Can't wait to return. Magic.
