What a wonderful hotel near the train and ferry stations. The hotel was comfortable and clean with a spacious bedroom and balcony. If the weather had been better we could have enjoyed it. Dining at the hotel was a great experience at dinner. The mussels were the best I’ve had in Scotland all summer!! Breakfast was in a lovely dining room and what we did have was good. We did not understand how important early dining was so when we arrived 45 min before breakfast service was over, they had run out of many dishes. However, their kindness and service were the stars here. Highly recommend staying and dining here if you are traveling through.

One of tour typical Scottish tourists hotels . Tired in places . Creaky floors and rooms where the air doesn't seem to flow and you can't get a window open. Then outside seating area is nice but not cleared often enough so thing just lye around. At the bar a barmaid whomrolls her eyes and olives off rhe distinct feeling that you are inconveniencing her by asking about a drink . That in contrast to the nice staff on reception who were great . Still, the hotel is overall decent and with good views over to Skye . Would go back , but perhaps avoid the bar.

Cute hotel but DO NOT stay here unless you book a larger more expensive room. Unless you are in a King you are up AT LEAST 2 flights of stairs! Our “cozy double” was up 4 flights, on the second floor, at the farthest end of the hall. No help and no elevator so be prepared to haul your suitcases. The choices are slim in Mallaig so this might be the place to spend your dollars on the biggest room.

When you enter the hotel there is a bar with a nice seating area , and some comfy sofas. You then go up the stairs to your room . The room was nice, and well equipped. Unfortunately you could hear the bar music till about midnight andIt started again at 6:00 but the staff are nice! You get a nice view of The sea!|A. Ruscoe at eight years of age !!!!!!!!!!!!❤️

The hotel has one of the best position in this area. Facing the Isle of Skye and the Atlantic Ocean. We came two couples and we had a relaxing time. Enjoyed the time and surroundings. Although the hotel is a little old and worn down it is still worth a visit. There are no elevators so two stories may be tough with heavy luggage.

Good location, free parking and good breakfast, rooms small unless go for top dollar price.|Great views over the harbour.|Poor Wi-Fi|Good pub next door.|2nd floor “cosy double” room we had was certainly cosy. If you’re tall or overweight don’t choose those. Sloping ceilings and very narrow doors. No lift either and 4 flights of stairs.|Dining room spacious with windows and views on both sides . Buffet only breakfast but plenty of choice.

Stayed here for an overnight with a group of friends. Staff welcoming. Decor typical Scottish. Room was clean and a good enough size for 2 people. We had a decent view of the harbour area. Hotel is dog friendly and there was a good few very well behaved dogs. (No barking). Location is a 5 min walk from train station.

True Scottish hospitality, Bob welcomed us and catered for all our needs, there were 8 of us in a group. Celebrating a birthday. He seemed to double up as reception and helped out in the bar. ||Not suitable for disabled as there are steps and no lift! However there is a slope, to get to the ground floor restaurant & bar. |Jean in the breakfast restaurant was super helpful and looked after us. There was plenty of breakfast choice, during the week the hot food was cooked to order. I can definitely recommend the smoked salmon. |The hotel is relaxing with a super view. The sun shone for us, so we could enjoy the veranda in the evening. Then late at night Fiona was there ready to serve us with a night cap and cold glass of water to take to bed. |Just a 5 minute walk to the station and ferry and has a car park, so well situated.
