I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Sydney and couldn’t recommend it enough. The location was perfect, quiet yet very convenient. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, the room was cleaned daily, and everything was consistently fresh and quiet throughout my five-night stay. Housekeeping did a fantastic job. What truly stood out was how attentive the staff were to my requests. When I mentioned that I needed extra water in my room, they made sure I had plenty of water every single day without me having to ask again. That level of care made a big difference, I especially loved the breakfast room service -On Time and warm ☺️ I also really appreciated that the hotel communicates by text message. As an international traveler without an Australian phone number, this was extremely convenient and saved me from paying extra roaming fees. Such a smart and thoughtful touch. Big thanks for the Lost and Found service for reaching out via email about items that I forgot during my stay. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. I would absolutely stay here again!

The room was nice, silent, clean and exactly as advertised. The coffee pods were especially good. The only issue was that the chrome casting function of the TV was not working. I have no doubt the staff would have fixed it if we requested or needed it. The staff were exceptionally good, they even provided us early check in in the morning, considering that we had a long flight coming in Sydney. The location of the hotel is very good for tourists its nearby touristic areas and public transport. Lastly the gym was really clean and nice for this kind of an hotel.

First stay at this new Hilton. The room was on the small side but was still very comfortable. The hotel has a small gym on the premises. No issues with Wi-Fi. The bed was comfortable. Great location, close to both Darling harbor and the city.

Do not let the hotel's boutique scale deceive you. From the moment of entry, West Hotel Sydney delivers a compelling "wow" factor, distinguished by its exquisite and thoughtful design. The aesthetic is impeccably modern and immaculate. Check in was swift and effortless, complemented by the cordial and professional staff. The guest rooms, while cozy in dimension, are elevated by a series of luxurious, small touches that transform the experience. The bedding is a particular highlight: wide, plush, yet supportive pillows, a remarkably comfortable mattress, and finely quilted covers combine to create an air of pure indulgence. Furthermore, the bath linens including the large towels and even the bath mats are of undeniable premium quality. The included buffet breakfast was rather disappointing.

We booked this hotel based on our previous positive experience with Hilton Honors in Cairns. The standout advantage of the West Sydney property is its location. The rooms were very neat and clean, though somewhat small. Being in the CBD—a highly congested area dominated by high-rise buildings—the hotel falls short in terms of room views, particularly as it is only an eight-storey building. The reception staff were polite and professional. Breakfast, however, was a bit disappointing. The online photos were far more appealing than the actual offering, and at this price point, expectations are higher. While walking nearby, we noticed the lobby of another hotel, which prompted our kids to ask why we hadn’t booked there instead. We felt that the pricing of this hotel largely reflects its location rather than the overall experience. On a separate note, it was disappointing to see food wastage at breakfast—greater respect for food would be appreciated.

We stayed at the West Hotel in Sydney twice during a two-week period - first for three nights and then again for one night. The location is excellent and makes it very easy to explore the city. Our room was a good size, clean, and overall very comfortable, which was reassuring after reading some mixed reviews beforehand.||The only real disappointment was the breakfast. We visited the restaurant during the latter half of the breakfast service and found the selection to be quite poor. The layout of the serving area is cramped, making it difficult to navigate, and many guests seemed unsure of where things were. Several food stations had empty gaps that weren’t being refilled, and overall the quality didn’t match the price being charged.||A pleasant stay in many ways, but the breakfast experience definitely needs improvement.

Google
Extremely disappointing stay at West Hotel Sydney. From the moment we checked in, the service was underwhelming — the staff member barely engaged with us and wouldn’t even make eye contact. The room itself was clean but very plain and not what we expected for the price. We also didn’t receive the welcome drink that was included with our booking and had to ask for it on our last day. Our air-conditioning didn’t work and when we raised it with reception, the response was indifferent at best — it felt like it was seen as our problem rather than something they were responsible for fixing. There was no follow-up after our complaint either. The buffet breakfast was also very disappointing — nothing like the photos, very limited and low quality. Overall, we left feeling very unimpressed with what ended up being a very expensive and underwhelming stay. Definitely not worth the cost and we won’t be returning Thank you for responding, however your reply doesn’t resolve or improve my experience. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, nothing in your message addresses the lack of service or follow-up during my stay, nor does it offer a genuine resolution. I raised my concerns at the time and felt they were dismissed. Unfortunately, a generic apology after the fact doesn’t change what happened, and I would have expected better customer care both during my stay and in your response now. I hope future guests receive a more proactive and personalised level of service.

Google
It has everything that a basic hotel should. Clean. Everything worked. Close to transport (Wynyard Station). Friendly staff.||However, it was totally unexceptional, often giving the bare minimum. The room is a bare minimum size. The space for a suitcase was a bare minimum, just big enough to squeeze mine into. (Many American bags wouldn't fit.) Small, round desk, just big enough to put a laptop on. My room had no view to speak of. There's no pool. Breakfast (not included) has only 2 juices and no potato dishes.||I'd call it a good 3* property, but it's charging 5* prices.

Yelp
ATC (Australian Travel Companion) wanted to help out on the Aussie trip by booking our first 4 nights in Sydney via points; The hotel was okay, but there was much room for improvement esp bc she has top level Diamond status w/ Hilton. Positives: The room was avail early. Greatly appreciated after a 15 hr direct flight. We wanted to clean up b4 exploring "Harbor City"; Staff was super friendly & helpful. Mini bar items were complimentary; Good location in Barangaroo, a neighborhood on the edge of CBD. Plenty of bars & restaurants within walking distance; Negatives: Small 250 sf room. An upgrade to a 500 sf suite would have cost $180 AUD more per night; No lanai (patio) to take in the fresh air; No wand in the shower; No Executive lounge; No pool; No view for being so close to Darling Harbour; No local restaurant recs via the app like other Hiltons I have stayed at; Tiny gym; The No's (negatives), far outweigh the positives: I would not stay here again. Unfortunately, the Marriott, Hyatt & IHG properties in the area were unavailable via points during our stay, and the Four Seasons had bad recent reviews.

Yelp
(Checked In 12/12/24 TH @ 3:00pm; Checked Out 12/14/24 SA @ 12:00pm): If you went far enough west from Los Angeles, you eventually arrived at this Sydney, Australia hotel! I did major research before I decided on staying at the West Hotel Sydney, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton property. Full disclosure... I was a hardcore Hilton Brand Hotels disciple and looked to them whenever I traveled especially since my favorite credit card was from them with points. On this particular occasion, my travel companion and I simply needed a place to rest our respective heads for a couple of days at a relatively centralized location for the least amount of money before we embarked on a 12-day Southern Australia Explorer Cruise with Princess Cruises. Did this hotel in the west satisfy our needs!? LODGING Twin Acacia Room w/2 Double-sized Beds (approx. $300.00AUD / $200.00USD / 60,000 Hilton Honors Points per night): Unknown sqft. and Room #, a non-smoking room with Level 1 views, plush bed sets, a 49-inch LG flat-screen HD Smart TV, work space with nearby integrated ports at a marble table with a chair, coffee/tea maker, complimentary snacks and water, in-room Bluetooth speakers and safe, room service, complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, a hairdryer, and a designer bathroom with equality eco-friendly Mr. Smith amenities. Sadly, there were no microwaves nor mini refrigerators. Here were some snapshots that gave you an idea what to expect: ~Double-Size Beds & Living Room: Shared with another human. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=APuC4_NhWcMoe3mrYoJbcQ ~Work Station: Could've used more space, but we made it work, and there were plenty of charging ports throughout. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=Dzv03OiKJYtktR0HaDRQPg ~Medium Bathroom: Medium shower pressure, no handicap safety bars, and plenty of towels. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=eRecSkU1t_Dcqrkfe2BkfQ ~Toiletries: Mr. Smith. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=754vFNlG5KmIo9GKKhg5iA ~Complimentary Snacks & Water: These were surprisingly tasty with probiotics! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=6gfAVfKK6-A4lq1H-VK6_Q SERVICE Online reservation was a snap. Upon our extreme early arrival, we tried for early check-in (no dice) but they were able to secure our luggage while we freshed-up in a travel bathroom before we headed out to explore the city. We returned around 2:00pm when the room was ready (we received a text notification), received the room keys, and took our luggage to the room. Until we checked out, there wasn't much else needed except for printing out luggage tags and any recommendations of things to do/see. The staff was awesome - thank you! PARKING (Unknown; N/A this instance) I didn't see any onsite parking. Otherwise, everything was within walking distance, a subway station away, or a rideshare reservation away, there was no need for a vehicle - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A boutique modern multi-story hotel, an onsite bar and restaurant (Solander) off to the right as you entered into a pathway https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=Lmzmqo6OLzSPdh7Gackt0w that led you to a minimal lobby/waiting area. Supposedly, there was a fitness center which I never saw, and a beautiful open-air atrium to enjoy company and drinks. Sadly, I missed the happy hour https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=DHadOOTDjU2UaWE8H3vjPA this time around. That was the extent of major amenities. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=8jRys3M3m98gmBSXCxWDqw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL West Hotel Sydney filled all the necessary checkboxes on this travel vacation and would gladly return. The biggest selling points were its location (Central Business District) and that it was a Hilton brand hotel. Sadly, they didn't offer any transportation service (Uber was more than useful), and the lack of an in-room refrigerator or an onsite convenience store was unfortunate. Lastly, I couldn't say enough about the staff at the front desk, who were friendly, kind, patient, and extremely helpful. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $600.00AUD / $400.00USD / 120,000 Points BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Yelp
I'm giving it 5 stars because of the great service of William at the bar. He knows how to deliver five star customer service. The place is centrally located in the middle of everything . You can walk just about anywhere. Things I didn't like : no pool, rooms are small, no room the small fridge. And bar is closed on Sundays . Also, it was closed one day for a wedding.. you can't change things. Overall experience, it was good .

Yelp
January 2024- I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel location is very convenient to all the shopping malls, the wharf and other tourist attractions. The room itself was spacious enough and clean. My only complaint is that there's no real closet to hang your clothes, but only a rack above the little luggage bench. Also, the fridge itself can really only fit 3 regular sized water bottles. The bathroom was nice and spacious. I was concerned with the window curtains. It was only a sheer white drape and I felt like it provided no privacy and could be looked into from the outside. The employees I encountered at the reception desk whenever I came and went were most times pleasant and would greet me. I enjoyed an old fashioned at the downstairs Solander bar. The local whiskey was good. However my old fashioned came with an entire orange slice instead of just being an orange peel. But the customer service was friendly. Overall I would stay here again.

Yelp
They don't give you an actual key, you have to use your phone, but it almost never worked in the elevator to get to our floor, so we had to go to the front desk anyway to get a key (so stupid). Pillows had down in them, so my husband's allergies were a mess (why do hotels still do that??). The "continental breakfast" only included fruit, cold cuts and juice, but if actually wanted a hot meal (a real breakfast) you had to pay for it, even as a Hilton Diamond member!!!! And it didn't even look that great. Would never go back here.

Yelp
UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Yes, the rooms are nice. The bar and dining area are nice. The offerings are nice and appointments are well done. But what truly stands heads and shoulders above the competition is the dedication to superior customer service. Sadly, wonderful customer service is a dying art these days but at the West Hotel, it seems to be an everyday focus. When we arrived, very early and after a very long flight and airport experience, we were warmly greeted by the manager, Christian. He worked his magic to let us chill out in the restaurant / bar area while he diligently sought out two rooms for us. Let me just say, this is the first time I have ever experienced such service because it seemed like he genuinely cared - again, not something you come across anymore in the customer service industry. As we chilled out, Christian let us know that he graciously found two rooms for us and they were ready right away. From this first interaction until we checked out, nothing but five-star service! We will definitely return and the location is an added bonus. It really isn't very far away from all the places you want to be! Thank you Christian, thank you to the team or individuals that hired Christian, and I hope you recognize the gem you have because he really makes a difference to the customer.

Yelp
My stay at this hotel was stellar. I enjoyed staying in the spacious suites and eating a great breakfast in the morning. Most importantly, all the staff were kind, professional, and welcoming. I'm looking forward to my next stay at West Hotel.

Yelp
What an incredible weekend. Our cruise ended in Auckland, but we wanted to spend a couple of days in Sydney before heading back to the USA. What a wonderful gem this is! Service from start to finish was wonderful. Front desk, concierge, room staff, restaurant servers - everyone put on an aura that told me I was the most important person to them at the moment. It was so much appreciated! Our room had a bit of a view of the waterfront. It was clean, fresh, and inviting! The bathroom was spotless and modern, and the bed couldn't have been more comfortable. Breakfast in the mornings was spot on. A wonderful way to start the day. It is within walking distance to many entertainment, gastro delights, and vistas - what a wonderful place to cap your trip to Australia! Treat yourself! You deserve it!

Yelp
Considering I live my life on the road, this 5 star review should hold some weight. From the moment we arrived early until we departed we were treated with nothing but perfect service and pleasant smiles. By far this is one of the best customer service hotels I've ever stayed at. Kate went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Breakfast in lounge was fresh and always fully stocked. Delicious pastries, chia puddings and passion fruit yogurts. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help in any way possible. The room we were given was a spacious suite and always tended well and replenished. It comes with your own nespresso machine which was nice. The location of this hotel is perfect as it is only a few blocks from Darling Harbour and less than half a mile from the main downtown and Queen Victoria Building and shopping. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this stay...the hotel is so clean and classy. The staff so friendly, courteous, and professional! The decor definitely modern and chic! The bar---classic and grounded with a centralized bottle of Pappy!!!! Stayed in the Barangaroo Suite and was not disappointed. The bathroom was large with a HUGE tub and walk-in shower... The hotel is located in a great area surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, retail and a 15-20 minute walk to the Harbour Bridge area. The staff made the visit very enjoyable!!! Thank you again...

Yelp
INCREDIBLE Hotel. INCREDIBLE I say !!! Clean & boujie. Their complimentary breakfast was ridiculously healthy and fresh. Their Concierge service was over the top. We were married at a local beach they sent up champagne as a gift. At night they had live music. It was a total lil hot spot for a younger crowd. It was also very conveniently located downtown. We could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go.

Yelp
Wonderful!! We spent a week here on our honeymoon, and the luxury of the hotel is bar none. The concierge was outstanding and helped us with everything; from cabs, umbrellas, urgent care and laundromats--anything we needed, they helped us with. If you are a good member like me, the continental breakfast is quiet superb and more than filling. The location is great as well; it's more in the business district--so convenient to the train, but not overly crowded like the Quay. If we make it back to Sydney, we absolutely will stay here.

Yelp
Part of the Hilton luxury boutique collection, it was my first time staying at this brand and the service was great and thoughtful. The rooms are a bit small but the emerald color touches are chic and trendy. Bath products did not seem to entirely match the classy brand but the scents were nice
