West Kortright Centre

A beautiful little spot in the middle of farms and nice scenery where there was a fair. Locals were selling their home made products, magicians and musicians performed and there was lots of food & drinks. Donations were collected for entry that went to the beautiful church on site.

Amazing place for children! We had fun playing the hay fort and trying different musical instruments. Our son enjoyed the corn kernel pit too!

A friend recorded some music in the old church. It was a small building with some cool lights and a nice small stage setup. Great little place from what I saw.

Bucolic rural setting with world-class concerts-great for a picnic & a show! Plus, a super fun annual fair, great for kids. Worth the drive!

Very small intimate venue. Seems like everybody knows each other there and it's definitely a community more than a venue. Cool little place if you can make the trek out there.

Went to Kidstock this weekend. Had a fabulous time. Great music and fabulous and free activities for kids.

I went there when I was in school. The school took is on a field trip and we watched some people from another country dance awesome culture to see

The West Kortright Centre is simply the number one, great cultural treasure of the area. Intimate, and down to earth, their concert series, annually attracts big-name talent, that belies the venue's size, plus there are the numerous workshop opportunities--ranging from hooking rugs, to medicinal plant foraging, and landscape painting, yoga, and digital photography, to theatre arts classes, for toddler to adult, and most especially, the annual, month-long, teenage Shakespeare workshop, which, for over the past twenty-some years, has proven itself a glory beyond compare--combined with special events, such as a Gala, local garden tours, a harvest fair, et/al, to make this a very special place indeed, and well worth a detour, so as not to miss! I'm surprised more people haven't reviewed this local institution--a cultural gemstone right here in the heart of the Northern Catskills. Check out their website to see their lineup (or follow them on Facebook); most of the shows run during the summer months. Performances include folk, indie, world music, and other concerts by performers of high quality. The Centre also runs cool classes in writing, visual art, science, and other topics of interest. The setting is beautiful old church with handsome stained glass windows and wooden pews. It's a most worthwhile place with a strong community spirit and warm energy. So glad to have it in the neighborhood!

Don't know if what Yelp has as the address for this place is accurate but I know you can get directions at the website. Really though, one of the cool things about this place is making a wrong trun or two on your way there. The areas is quite beautiful! . The WKC has arts workshops, Shakepseare in July, and music... They make a good effort to get acts from a good array of culturs (e.g. Scandanvian, variosu African, American stuff...) Their latest jazz artists were uninspired , but years ago they had Steve Lacy (cool0, and Teddy Wilson (classy)
