"Spanning more than 20 miles from Winter Garden to Apopka, this paved trail is a local favorite for jogging, biking, in-line skating, or just plain strolling on a pleasant day. Kick off your adventure at the Killarney Station, which features facilities like restrooms, water fountains, a playground, and a bike shop where you can rent wheels by the hour or day. Once on your way, look out for interesting landmarks such as the old railway bridge that goes over the Florida Turnpike, and the farm that houses cattle, zebras, and ostriches. Just be sure to bring along a backpack loaded with plenty of water and sunscreen."

We went from Lke Apopka to Lake Mineola, 28 miles total round trip, easy trail, mostly flat, mild hills not too bad, gorgeous scenery, shade, few patches of woods (a little spooky at night but we feel safe)very well kept, rest stops, a few bike service stations and bathrooms, dinner at Winter Garden, perfect.

Love this Trail! Lots of beautiful scenery and happy people. Plenty of rest areas and shade trees. Great eateries in Winter Garden.

Great place to park and ride your bike or blades. Bathrooms were clean and it has a cute playground and a peaceful walking path for those looking to sit and relax. I saw basketball courts near it as well . Not a lot of parking but overflow is on street area.

Yelp
The west orange trail is a great place to walk, jog or bike. The only negative I would say, are the groups of bikers, mostly men, who will run you over if you don't move off the path. They do not warn you, they do not say "passing on the left." You just suddenly sense that you had better jump off the path. I have seen them almost run over people, except for the quickness of the person walking. This is mainly on Saturday. I walk on the cute dirt streets of Oakland on Saturday due to the aggression of the bikers. The views from the trail are beautiful, peoples backyards are gorgeous, lots of birds, one eagles nest, close by the West Orange Trail. And you actually can walk down into Oakland Nature Preserve also as it is right off the west Orange trail. There are restrooms, available. totally free, restrooms in Oakland at the historical center, and also at the different branch stations in Wintergarden and in West Oakland. The trails are kept up by the state of Florida, and they do a good job of keeping debris off of the trail. Unfortunately, a lot of stately old oak trees have been cut down due to development in Oakland Park, which is not Oakland but Winter Garden. As a tree lover, this hurts my heart. Within about a half mile of my house, which is in Oakland, at least 50 trees have been cut down in the last year most of them at least 50 years old and some even older. Do come and enjoy the trees and the birds. It is a lovely walk, jog, or easy bike. If you are a biker, please, do warn people that you are passing them, many people who walk are doing a walking meditation, and it's distressing to have people suddenly pass one, without a warning. thank you in advance for that!

Yelp
Get it! That runner's high (okay, maybe not) (COVID?: The trail is fairly wide, most people are not wearing masks, but some are. People give each other enough space so it is fairly ok...) What? That outdoor gym! Okay maybe just a trail to walk, bike, or run! For me it is running. When the gyms were closed for Covid, I picked up some running. I have ran this trail before but more than ever last year! I usually start downtown winter garden and go west on the trail. I like the west more than the east cause there is less traffic, also a bit brighter when running in the early mornings! The path is relatively wide and is mostly flat. "easy run" one would say. The downtown Winter Garden area is great to relax after your stroll. Many coffee shops to sit down and enjoy. Environment There are plenty of water stations along the trail. There is also a couple of stations so you can stop and use the restroom and so. Nice scenery... maybe? Lots of trees on the side so it is mostly shaded. A nice and breezy run. If you are on the trail before sun rise you may need some sort of light as the path can be dark Niceness of the people around People are relatively friendly. There are some rules such as staying on the right. Be courteous of others using the trail. Beware of bike zooming by. Overall be nice! Dollar Free.99. This is a great trail to get some steps and fresh air in Yes? Absolutely! I really like it! I run the trail a couple of times a week!

Yelp
This trail is by far THE BEST I have ever taken. It's an easy ride with a few subtle hills. The atmosphere from the start is great and so were the people that greeted you along the way. The area of Oakland is everything you see on television of a small modern town. We wished we knew of this area before purchasing our home. The downtown area of Winter Garden was a great spot to take a break and get something to eat or drink. We'll for sure be back for further exploration on the trail.

Yelp
Great bike trail which connects to other trails. This is part of the coast to coast trail across Florida. If you'd like you can take it from the Atlantic to the Saint Petersburg. It is a black top trail not crushed stone. This makes for easy riding. We started our trip in Winter Garden and rode to Titusville. We stayed over night and then rode back the next day. The total trip was about 180 miles. The town of Winter Harden was a pleasant surprise. Lots of nice bars, restaurants and ice cream shops.

Yelp
Love the trail... I prefer to start and finish my ride in Winter Garden. I try to ride it 5 to 6 times a week...it's a Great Way to clear your heart mind and soul. You never know what may see along the trail which makes it a pleasure to walk, run, or ride. After an hour ride ending back in Winter Garden on a Saturday I hit the farmers market and the one of the great eateries it has to offer.

Yelp
The West Orange Trail is 22 miles long and goes through several counties. This includes my town allowing us all the benefits of a multipurpose trail. The trail is paved and mostly constructed using old railroad alignments. It passes through scenic and historic areas in downtown Oakland & Winter Garden. While you walk, skateboard or cycle through the trail you will pass by the Central Florida Railroad Museum in downtown Winter Garden, The Butterfly Garden at the Tildenville Outpost and the Oakland Nature Preserve. There are four main stations on the West Orange Trail. They have bathrooms and parking available. Some have picnic tables, bike racks and concessions. Bike and skates are available to rent at the Killarney Station. You can play basketball or tennis at the Chapin Station.

Yelp
This is THE way to spend a fall/spring day in Central Florida! This trail is stunning to say the least! Start in Winter Garden and either rent or bring your own bike to take a few solid hours of time to explore this beautiful neighborhood. Bike rentals at the Winter Garden station run about $7/hr for the comfort seat bikes. The trail is deceptively hilly, so you will get quite the workout from this ride. Over 20 miles of total trail! Your legs will feel like noodles by the end. For all ages, there's plenty of stops along the way near lakes, playgrounds and all of beautiful downtown Winter Garden. This is a MUST DO for all Central Floridians
google avatar

Yelp
Too bad we chose such a hot day to bike this trail; it started out being by almost-jungle-like trees, but eventually opened up to sun, sun, and more sun. Not great for a 90 degree bike ride. Nevertheless, it's a great workout, lots of hills (who knew there are so many hills in Florida?!), good views of lakes, lots of home developments, well maintained and well marked and offers good side trips to Winter Garden. The West Orange Trail Bikes & Blades is a good start point, both because of its equipment rental, advice, and rest room facilities. Oh, and the rocking chairs on its porch!
google avatar

Peter M.

Yelp
I enjoy all of the central Florida paved bike trails, for different reasons. Most if not all of the reviews for the West Orange Trail seem to dwell on the Winter Garden section of the trail, and yes, it is very pleasant to ride through the scenery, past Killarney trailhead and on into cute, touristy downtown Winter Garden. However, we live near the Apopka end of the trail, so we start there. It is urban at the outset, and so less pastoral and scenic, but you do run into shaded and scenic sections and there is less bike traffic on the Apopka end. We usually ride from Apopka to Winter Garden, have lunch, and then turn back, because that is a lot of miles for us and the Minneola section can be too hilly for us because we are tired out by that point.

Yelp
Bike riding after a long hiatus, first time riding on this trail and we couldn't stop smiling. We felt like kids again as we strolled thru the beautiful area of Winter Garden. This day couldn't of been better. We had the friendliest cashier at the rental location providing all the beginner tips she could. Everyone we encountered were very pleasant and Florida was on its best behavior as far as weather. We can't wait to go back before it gets too hot and now, Hubby is ready to purchase his own bike so we can make this a weekly event. We completed 10 miles and it was the best workout day ever!

Yelp
Thank you Orange County for this bike trail! Please make more! I'm writing this review after our third attempt at the West Orange Trail. Third time is a charm. The first time we came it was end of June. Was it hot? Uh yeah. So hot that I almost fainted and had to cool down inside Axium while my boyfriend got the car. Second attempt was on New Years Day. It was pa-acked! It's a well known fact gyms are packed after New Years. Any fitness related activity is no exception. Everyone and their mother was on the trail. So third time, we went this past weekend. A much better experience. We started at Chapin Station. I liked that there was an air pump and tools provided. Quite handy. The bf used the wrench to make an adjustment to the bike. We biked our way through downtown Winter Garden and then into Oakland. It was a beautiful day and we had an enjoyable time. The trail is nicely paved. It was busy again. There were points I felt like I was on the bike version of I4, having to pass and be passed. But overall, a pleasant experience. Next time we do the trail we are planning to go early morning and bike longer. If you don't have a bike, you can rent one. Definitely a must to Central Florida activity.

Yelp
Me and the bf are newbies to biking, but we had a blast out here!! Definitely very different from just cruisin' in my neighborhood. The trail has pretty steep hills and was a little intimidating at first, but I've come to enjoy the thrill and breeze especially on a warm day. We started at West Orange Trail Bikes and Blades where you can rent, but we brought our own bikes. My goal in the future is to bike the whole trail so I can see all the stops!! Orlando Date Night Guide has a nice article on the trail and is what inspired me to visit in the first place, check it out! https://www.orlandodatenightguide.com/2018/02/eat-drink-explore-west-orange-trail/

Yelp
Biking and Beautiful Trails. I love the fact that you can rent a bike from the Winter Garden Station. The Scenery along the trail is incredible. What a great way to workout while simultaneously enjoying Nature at it's finest. The trail is spacious and makes for a nice smooth ride. I love being surrounded by a mass of beautiful trees. This trail is perfect for any day.

Yelp
Calling all outdoorsy people, attention, attention, you MUST go to West Orange Trail!! Came here on a Wednesday during the day and had the time of my life! You can either bike, walk, or even roller blade this trail. We started at Killarney Station, where we rented bikes from Bikes and Blades. It was $7 an hour for each bike and included helmet. The trail itself is very wide and spacious and completely paved throughout the whole way. Very rarely are you crossing a major street, only really occurs right in the beginning of the trail, but for the rest of the trail to Winter Garden the streets you cross cut through neighborhoods, so you don't see many cars at all. The trail itself is absolutely beautiful, you see everything from beautiful Florida foliage, small orange groves, to a butterfly garden, to passing past the Oakland Nature Preserve, to a private home who owns zebras and antelopes that you can see through the fence, to passing through beautiful Oakland. We decided to go biking to Winter Garden and stop there for lunch at Plant St. Market and then head back to Killarney Station. It is about 5 miles to Winter Garden, and let me tell you as a bicyclist who hasn't ridden since middle school and do not work out that much, the 5 miles there was not too tough. It was the perfect leisurely ride with the perfect little stop for lunch. Everyone on the trail is so friendly and helpful. I am so thankful I found this little gem and cannot wait to explore more of the trail. It's about 26 miles long and I only saw 5 miles of it, so I know there's plenty of more beauty to see! Also side tip** You will pass through a beautiful lake that is part of a neighborhood in Oakland, here at this lake is a beautiful massive tree that is the perfect tree to climb!!! I suggest that you park your bike here and take in all the beauty that Florida has to offer and while you are at it, I recommend that you let your inner child shine and attempt a climb at the beautiful tree!

Yelp
Best trail ever!! My fiance and I used it for the first time today and it was great!!! The bike trail is beautiful, mostly shady, spacious and nicely paved. We completed (and thoroughly enjoyed) a 20 mile ride with ease. We took the trail through gorgeous communities and up to historic Winter Garden, which was awesome! We are so in love with this bike trail. The thing I really appreciated most is that the direction going toward WG felt very safe to me, which is always refreshing. Can't wait to go back this weekend! Note: From the parking lot, if you go the other direction, away from WG, it's a lot more hilly and more of a challenge. Also, it's more wooded and secluded. So as a woman, I would not feel quite as comfortable biking or jogging on my own. Stay safe ladies :)
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
This trail is great! I jogged here occasionally. I start off at the Winter Garden Station. The station has bathrooms, water fountains, bike rentals, and a playground. It's pretty safe. You can walk, jog, bike and there are sections were you can even horseback riding.
google avatar

Janene H.

Yelp
The West Orange Trail is a great multiuse trail in many ways. Certain parts are absolutely gorgeous with lots of places to explore. I love the stretch through downtown Winter Garden all the way through Oakland. You pass through quaint downtowns with nice shops and bike-friendly eateries as well as rolling pastures, oak canopies and cute little houses. There are nice stops with playgrounds, benches and bathrooms. The only reason I'm not giving the trail 5 stars is because the northern section, through Apopka, is in an unsafe neighborhood. I'm not even sure I'd feel safe riding my bike through here with another person. It's really a shame because I live in North APK and could conceivably ride my bike to the trail from my house. Too bad I wouldn't do it because it would require that ride through South APK. Better to drive the bike and catch the trail closer to Ocoee/Winter Garden.

Yelp
Great spot for a bike ride and a break from anything theme park-ish. It was fun. Fully paved and easy biking through scenic town and other spots. Excellent bikes and service from the rental company. Would definitely do again. Go bike!

Yelp
So my friends and I wanted to start the new year off right. We decided to dust off our bikes and give the West Orange Trail a try. Normally our bike rides consist of bar hopping in and around Ivanhoe, so we knew we were going to have to put in work on this ride and boy did we! We met up at the stop near Clarke Rd and Clarcona-Ocoee Rd. I definitely felt safe leaving my car there, as it's located right on a busy road. Our plan was to ride towards Winter Garden, with a pit stop at Plant Street Market for lunch. The ride was pleasant. At times we were riding through neighborhoods and the next thing I knew, felt like we were in the middle of the woods. The trail was a little challenging for my cruiser, as I struggled a little to make it uphill. I highly recommend a bike that has gears and it suited for long rides. Along the way, we stopped at a park that had a service station for bikes. It included a bike pump and tools to make any needed fixes or adjustments. After 7 miles, we made it to our destination in the middle of downtown Winter Garden. After so good and a beer to cool off, we dreaded the ride back but we're determined to do it. The trail runs from Apopka to Clermont and our next ride will be from the stop on 9th St. in Winter Garden to Oakland and or Clermont. If you need to rent a bike, you can do so at the 9th St. stop. It wasn't easy, but the scenery and fresh air made it worth it. Can't wait to do it again!

Yelp
Awesome trail! Just went for the first time today and had a really good time. There are so many parks along the trail and the view is so perfect. It also goes through down town Winter Garden which is nice to see. One thing I really liked about it is it doesn't go through too many busy intersections and your not driving by any car traffic. I only rode 12 miles today but I definitely plan on coming back and riding more than that. It was perfect for a lovely day like today.

Yelp
Being an avid runner and biker, I was tickled pink upon the discovery of this outdoor trail. From start to end, the trail stretches across 22 miles of West Orange County. It takes you through wooded areas, downtown Winter Garden and Apopka. It's the perfect place for joggers, cyclists, horseback riders and rollerbladers; a nice change from most areas where anything with wheels are prohibited. The course had a few small hills, but overall very manageable whether you are riding a bike or using your own two feet. There was also a nice mix of shaded and exposed parts. I would bring sunscreen next time though if that helps any. Each mile was clearly marked so you always knew how far you had gone. There are also well kept stations all along the trail's path. Some have playgrounds, full restrooms, equestrian facilities water fountains, benches, etc. It was a wonderful place to spend a Sunday!

Yelp
Great scenery and trail! You can map it out so you grab lunch in winter garden on your way back or a coffee.

Yelp
The West Orange Trail is one of the best trails in the area, especially for cyclists. We ride on it regularly, and it's well maintained, paved, and has plenty of rest stops. If you're looking for somewhere to play or exercise outdoors, I highly recommend it.

Rodney F.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite trail. It's extraordinarily well maintained. The trail is wide and great for walking, running, biking, or whatever you do to keep active. It doesn't cross roads very often, but when it does, everything is conspicuously marked with stop signs and crosswalks. I've traveled this trail from Apopka to Winter Garden many times and it is very beautiful. Lots of shade and trees. Benches, trash cans, and even a few water coolers along the way. I highly recommend.

D C.

Yelp
Love this trail. I usually begin my ride at the Ingram road parking trailhead. Best option is go west to towards Winter Garden. There are mile markers along the trail to keep you on track. The first quarter or so mile runs along the side and back fence of a golf course. Then it continues towards and cuts through a townhouse complex, then to an underpass slow downhill to the first traffic stop light. From here, you'll smell cattle livestock and sometimes a zebra that attracts the curious. Continue. It gets crowded tho, so be careful with other bikers, hikers, runners, or the occasional horseback rider. All along the way there are trees to keep shade when it's hot. Next station is Winter Garden station. Take a break, you have just made five miles.

Yelp
The following reasons pertain to why this bike trail is phenomenal. Quality bike rentals:\\ For $6 an hour or $30 bike rentals all day the rental shop has clean duty strong bikes that has 7 adjustable speeds! This makes a difference when you are riding with others for either catching up purposes or slowing down. You can burn more calories just by adjusting the speed and that is just great. Enjoyable trail with a great deal of length to adjust to your preference:\\ They are stating in the bike rental's website that the trail now stretches up to 24 miles which is the Clermont stop to Winter Garden then Apopka, or if you will like to do 10 miles then Clermont to Winter Garden should be your ground zone. Peaceful scenery:\\ Nature will surround you in this bike trail and sometimes it's just nice to get out there and enjoy miles of grassland/trees/fresh air/ birds! Midway through the trail in Winter Garden you will stroll by their downtown area which consist of tiny antique shops and restaurants. Perfect for the exploring type who will like to try a little random sandwich shop. This trail is the perfect wind down after a long week and to add some additional zen in your life.
google avatar

Melly M.

Yelp
Very interesting trails. Not flat like other ones, this one has lots of hills to climb which is unusual in florida. Definitely one interesting trail to bike on with lots of hard work. We biked for 10 miles then stopped by farmers market on sunday in cleremont, got some hummus, fruits, had a nice picnic under a tree at the Cleremont Water Park. If you don't have a bike, you can rent one at the county line station.

Yelp
This trail is a mixed bag... While the southern part of the trail closer to Winter Garden is really nice and safe, the northern part that runs through Apopka is a complete nightmare. Yesterday I launched from the Apopka Station Trailhea, heading south on the trail. The trail runs through a very industrial area and crosses very rough neighborhoods... I was alone on the trail and a few time saw extremely shady individuals emerging from the woods surrounding the trail, and at one point came across a guy just walking in circles in the middle of the trail.. It was a really jarring experience and I felt like I was going to get jumped at any point. If you ever make the mistake of launching from Apopka Station, make sure it is in BROAD daylight and in the company of as many other bikers/runners as you can get. Also have your phone on you. I am certainly not coming back to that section of the trail.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
This is a great trail for biking, running and walking. Round trip it's just under 40 miles, but of course you can choose your own milage. the trail winds through secluded areas, residential and downtown Winter Garden (my favorite part) . There are plenty of bathroom and water stops on the way and they even rent bikes. I used to bike the entire trail but now I like to go here for my long runs . What I like best about it is the changing scenery and the fact that you only have to cross public roads a very few times. The only downside is that on busy days you will sometimes have to deal with parents who think it's a good idea to let their little brat crash into you while learning how to ride a bike and then blame YOU for the fact that they can't control the little shit.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
This is a great trail for running, biking, roller blading, walking, strollers, etc. You can rent bikes at many of the stations, including Winter Garden (mile 5) and Kilarney (mile 0). In the area that I frequent, there are stations at mile 0, 5, and 7, with drinking fountains at 0, 3, 5, and 7. The fountains at 0 and 7 are MUCH colder and tastier, very important for summertime activities. Make plans to stop in Winter Garden (mile 4.5) for ice cream, Saturday morning farmer's market, kids fun fountain, shopping, bike shops, breakfast, french bakery, bars, etc. At Kilarney (mile 0) the trail continues westward to Lake Minneola/Clermont, it just has a different name because it has turned into Lake County. There's also a spur that goes up to the National Training Center (NTC). The most popular section for runners is mile 0 to 5 between Kilarney and Winter Garden. West of Kilarney, it gets much more hilly, it's scenic but tough on the legs.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
The West Orange Trail was beautiful, scenic, and lots of fun for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our ride. There are so many stations to stop at with restrooms, bike shops, playgrounds, and refreshments. Winter Garden has an adorable downtown area that the trail runs through. We look forward to many more adventures on the West Orange Trail!
google avatar

Meghan K.

Yelp
Been on this trail dozens of times! Very well maintained, good variety of scenery. Lots of stops along the way to get water or rent bikes. We like to ride from Killarney to the Clarcona Horse Park usually, though going in the other direction to Lake Minneola is quite nice too, though I find that section to be more challenging. I can't say that I'm very fond of the trail much past Clarcona going towards Apopka but overall it's a great place to get outside.

Yelp
I've used this trail for biking and training for a half marathon. I found it perfect for preparing both beginners and experienced athletes as it is not flat and will make you work for your goal. Be forewarned, you are in Florida so running during the day should be reserved for very experienced and hearty runners. I recommend starting before sunrise or close to dusk if the heat is an issue. I once ran later in the morning and found myself regretting it as the sun baked me into a bad place. I highly recommend starting at the station located in downtown Winter Garden and running out and back. Be forewarned, the portion in the Apopka area travels through an unsafe neighborhood and you should avoid running close to sundown as the trail has heavy cover and becomes pitch black in the absence of sun light. The parking lot behind the Buddhist Temple has a nice park for children but seems to attract unsavory characters at night time. This is the only reason, in all fairness, that I didn't provide 5 stars. I love this trail and I strongly recommend using it for running and biking. I really enjoy running from down Winter Garden west to the trail end station and back. Especially early mornings on the weekends as it is full of people and very safe. There are oodles of watering stations but I recommend a belt pack with electrolyte packs when running over eight miles. Bring your iPod or cell phone with Pandora to make those longer runs less monotonous. When your ready to carve weight off your tail, trot along the West Orange Trail!
google avatar

Valeska F.

Yelp
This is a wonderful park. I've been biking on its trail for 4 weekends now and every time I do it just gets better and better. The closer you get to the Winter Garden area, the prettier it is. I recommend coming in groups and in January or February when the weather is chill. There is a beautiful park on Chapin station with bathrooms, a lake, playgrounds, bicycle parking and car parking. Recommended +++

Yelp
Word to the wise. Start at the Winter Garden side. I made the mistake of starting at the second stop in Apopka the first time and found out the hard way it isn't in a nice area. Now I start in Winter Garden and am completely happy! Much of the trail is shaded which is great in the summer. There are a few bathrooms along the way and even some water stations. There are quite a few cyclists but it isn't crowded. You may even see a few equestrian riders as well. Trail Length/Surface: 19 miles, paved (asphalt 14' wide Access/Directions: County Line Station From Orlando, take SR 50 west past Winter Garden. After you pass the Florida Turnpike, look for County Line Station on your right near the county line between Orange and Lake counties. Winter Garden Station From Orlando, take SR 50 west to 9th Street in Winter Garden. Take a right (heading north) until you reach CR 438 (Plant Street). Take a left, and head west until you reach Winter Garden Station.

Yelp
I love this trail! It is very popular and you can often see walkers, runners, bikers, and I have even seen people roller blading. This trail runs through several different neighborhoods and has a few stations where you can park along the way. At the Killarney Station in Clermont, there is ample parking. Also, there is a shop where you can rent bikes and fill your tires with air. This trail passes right through Winter Garden, which has all sorts of cute shops and restaurants on Plant Street. Additionally, there is the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Along this trail, there are plenty of places to stop and relax or take a break. There is also the Oakland Nature Preserve, which is a park with hiking trails, that you can stop at between Winter Garden and the Killarney Station. I really like how scenic this trail is and it really makes exercising outdoors enjoyable.

Yelp
West Orange Trail is a must if you live in the Orlando area. Enjoy the most relaxing bike ride of your life. I love to load up the kids on a Saturday and head out. If you do not have a bike, you can rent one at the main station. You can also stop in downtown Winter Garden and enjoy a yummy lunch. It is a family favorite!

Yelp
Get a Move on! This biking/equestrian trail is one of the best in central Florida. No matter whether you are trying to experience it on hoof, wheels, or foot, it looks beautiful, and there's a lot of natural Florida beauty to experience here. The Good: Plenty of stops: Since this trail is quite long, there are several stop areas included. And they're pretty good too. Along the way, you'll walk by a butterfly garden, a museum, and an equestrian area. It's pretty cool, and might give you some purpose while hitting the trail. Nice wide trails: Since this trail is meant for all kinds of transportation, it is a good thing that the trail is nice and wide, and allows for all kinds of traffic in both directions The Bad: N/A West Orange Trail is a great place to get active and go on a beautiful trail. There's plenty of shade and amenities, but definitely remeber to bring your trail mix and water bottle! Overall 10/10

Yelp
Since I have been training for a half marathon, I'm always on the lookout for long running trails in the Orlando area. I'm glad I finally checked out the West Orange Trail. I parked at the Winter Garden Station which was very easy to find. The station had a shop to rent bikes as well as a bathroom and water fountain. There was even a playground there as well. The staff in the bike shop directed me to find which way would be appropriate for my distance. I wanted to run 10 miles so I went 5 miles to the south end of the trail and back. I'm going to check out the north end next. I like that this trail is really long and has plenty of water fountains and restrooms along the way. It is also pretty populated with other runners and bikers so I felt safe. There was even a cop at the south end when the trail crosses over traffic. There's plenty of shade along the way and some beautiful scenery. I think the Winter Garden station was a good pick given I was able to check out the farmers market right after the run.

Yelp
I love, love, love this trail and the beautiful ride in from the West Orange Station into Winter Garden. It's an easy ride and you can even stop at the Oakland Nature Preserve on the way. It's paved and there are always friendly people out and about. This is truly a great addition to the area.

Yelp
Great bike trail. After one hour riding in a very hot day we had to stop at the Chapin station to hydrate. Because I was feeling dizzy and overheated I decided to knock a the office door to get some air conditioning. Not only did the staff welcome me and offered me their chair, but they went out of their way to bring me ice cubes and an an ice pad. I was particulalrly impressed by the site supervisor who provided first aid information and bike safety. Kudos to Tammy Stockdill and the rest of the staff at the Orange County Parks and Recreation!

Yelp
Loved the West Orange Trail! Yelp comes through yet again! Wanted to do something besides sit around the house before the WOB yelp elite event so I decided to see what outdoorsy stuff there is to do. Sure enough West Orange Trail pops up in my search. The station at the beginning of the trail has bike rentals and friendly staff to boot. I filled out some paperwork and was told it would be $6 an hour or $30 for the entire day's rental. I was asked what kind of bike I wanted to ride and had the opportunity to try both the road bike and the Standard bike. I decided that after having my nuts disappear painfully into my body that the road bike wasn't going to be a comfortable ride. I was given the choice of a helmet and then issued the bike I'd selected. The seat was adjusted and just like that, my gf (had her own bike) and I were off! The trail is beautiful and leads through the downtown Winter Garden area and beyond. Plenty of nature and fresh air for riders to behold. Plenty of cyclists, roller bladders and runners along the trail. We rode 17 miles round trip, just passing Occoee High School before turning back. I enjoyed how easy the bike rental process was. After being out for two hours my bill was $12 and change. No hidden fees, no hassles. Looking forward to coming back to the trail for round 2.

Yelp
40 miles trail.. now this is long, but if you are like me I do no more than 20 because after the Winter Garden shops/restaurant there is nothing! A little boring for another 10 miles... I usually start from the park at Winter Garden and then go my way to either side, then finish back where I started and grab a treat at any of their restaurants. About six months ago before we got our bikes I didn't even know that Central Florida had so many trails. It's actually very nice knowing all they had to offer, we truly enjoy them.

Yelp
I found out about this trail when I was new to the area and looking for a home around Winter Garden. I rode it on a weekend and just fell in love with it so much so I moved where I had easy access to ride it. The trail goes some 30 miles or so, I like to ride it from Winter Garden to Lake Minneola in Clermont and back. Great way to get some exercise and you can take in some great views along the way. You get to pass through several downtown areas that are bike friendly and it gives you a lot more to do.

Yelp
It is nice to see that the metro Orlando area actually does have some recreational trails/paths for everyone to use. This particular trail is very well maintained and is wide enough for 2 way traffic. My wife and I go as often as possible to go ride our bikes on the trail, everyone is very friendly and the trail is long enough to get a good exercise.

Yelp
Trails are well maintained and shaded by natural landscape. Starts in downtown WG so it's a nice place to grab a bite before of after your ride. Plenty of parking by the "Marketplace" for easy loading and unloading.

Yelp
Ran 8 miles on the lovely West Orange Trail this morning & started off at the horse park station. This trail is great for hills but you should bring your own water bottle since half of the water stops are actually coolers. They do have portapotties which was nice. Will be returning to this trail for sure.

Yelp
I came out here for a 5k race, but I was very impressed with the facilities. What a great place to take kids! The trail runs right along the park, so access is wonderfully easy. The playground, pavilion, and restrooms were all clean and welcoming, and parking is abundant.
