We have a back-to-back reservation as part of our stay was with a group. At check-in, I confirmed twice that we were checked in for the entire stay, specifically verifying the dates. Despite this, on day two, our keys stopped working, we were checked out automatically, and I even received a receipt by email.
After getting that sorted at the desk, we returned to our room at 3 PM to find it hadn't been cleaned. We called housekeeping to ask for service and at least some toilet paper (the room was out). When I called 20 minutes later to ask for an estimated time, I was given a rude "lecture" that I had only called "29 minutes and 29 seconds ago" and that with 350 rooms, they would get to us when they get to us. It took a second trip to the front desk to finally get this addressed.
Additionally, the bed was fitted with a sheet that was way too small, which immediately came undone. I asked the staff to change it and was assured it would be handled, but I returned to find the same sheet still on the bed. At this point I gave up…
On the bright side, Tyrell at the front desk was very helpful, and the restaurant service was excellent. However, we have come to expect much more from Marriott.
