Lunch with a view? West Shore Cafe has definitely got it! Lucky enough to get a reservation after a morning on the lake. If you are coming on a boat, you are able to dock near the restaurant and the staff members will help you anchor your boat & ferry you up to the dock. Great service!
When it comes to the food, lots to like, and def some room for improvement. For appetizers, we got the fried calamari, crab cakes and the ahi poke. Both were fabulous! The calamari was probably one of the best I've had, great combo with tasty breading, fried perfect, and full of flavor. Crab cakes, full of meat, super good! The poke was fresh-tasting and definitely hit the spot. For the appetizers, the portion sizes are tiny, so one order is good for 1-2ppl, so if you are in the group, plan to order more than 1. For a main, I went with the West Shore Burger, which was a Wagyu patty served on a brioche bun with a side of truffle fries. The burger had no real stand out flavor here, but very passable. The truffle fries were light on the truffle, and the bun could've used a good toast. Overall, a pretty standard burger.
Our group also got the fish tacos. This definitely left a lot to be desired. The fried fish itself was really good. The dressing of the tacos is where there is room for improvement. It lacked some type of aioli or creama, because it was a dry-tasting bite overall. The tortillas could use a toast and/or quick fry too. I think simple fixes, that can really take these tacos to another level.
If you are going with a group, plan to spend a minimum of $50-60+ per person, depending on how many apps and drinks you get. For the view and experience, and price isn't an issue, West Shore Cafe is definitely a solid option on this side of the lake!
