West Sixth NuLu

Great brewery with excellent bar-style food! We stopped by after a baseball game to relax and grab something to eat and drink. The kids had a blast playing pinball while we waited for our food. The wings were hot, fresh, and coated in delicious sauces. The tater tots with a side of queso paired perfectly with the wings. Both the beer and seltzers hit the spot—cold, refreshing, and really well done.

I stopped by West Sixth one hot day for a quick refreshment. It’s a nice casual space that seems to be popular. It seemed like it had its own community and was quite chill. I tried two of their beers, but I think the porter was my favorite. If the weather is good there is a patio space that’s partially shaded. I enjoyed the time I spent here, and it’s always nice to see a brewery doing well.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at West Sixth nulu this weekend and had the BEST experience. We utilized their galley kitchen to do our taco and queso bar and people couldn’t stop talking about how good everything was! Morgan helped us with all the details as we planned the event logistics and our bartender for the night, Nick, was amazing. So many people commented on how perfect the room was, marketplace hall was beautiful and warm! We always love coming to west sixth and now it’ll be even more special to us.

We hosted the Rehearsal Dinner for my son's wedding there this past weekend. The space was perfect, I can't say enough good things about Morgan and her communication with us throughout the planning process. Our dedicated bartender was outstanding, and the space was set up exactly as promised. I would definitely recommend using West Sixth for any event you are hosting.

Great atmosphere. I really like the communal patio. Good bar food selection. Service was definitely on point. Highly recommended if you want a comfortable, casual good time.

Thank you West Sixth for being so family-friendly and accommodating to us! We were traveling for fall break and called ahead to see if it was ok to bring our dog, the bartender who answered was so friendly and let us know that the taproom was kid & dog friendly. The bartenders chatted with our kids and the entire taproom was just such a great experience- plus, the beer was solid - a great combo! Cheers W6th!

Visited for the first time at the end of December and had an awesome experience! I’ve been looking forward to checking out the new Nulu location of West Sixth and was not disappointed. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the beer was delicious as always. We tried a couple of stout/porters and they were great! Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable as well. I am digging the marketplace and the whole vibe of the indoor/outdoor venue. Definitely recommend hanging out here over a beer and ordering some of Emmy Squared to your table! Just choose one with a QR code and they will bring it right to you.

West Sixth Brewing was a great surprise! As someone from Germany, I can be pretty picky with beer, but I really enjoyed their selection. The Cerveza especially hit the spot after running the Lexington marathon — light, refreshing, and just what I needed. Great beer, great atmosphere — absolutely deserves 5 stars!

West 6th NuLu is my go to Louisville Brewery. I love the atmosphere and friendly staff. The beer is consistently above par in terms of freshness and availability. There is always something new to try, but flavors that seem familiar and comforting, exactly what I look for in my neighborhood brewery. The addition of a kitchen helps make this a destination for craft beer enthusiasts.

Great beer but it's a bit pricy, and parking in NuLu is horrendous- and it's going to get worse with the redesign of Market, but it is a good location for lots of events Still, they have some great events- we LOVED the strong beer event a couple weeks ago. Service is always good.

Amazing spot in the heart of Nulu! The beer is delicious, the service is great and the view is spectacular! We love sitting on the balcony deck to sip a cold brew on a sunny summer day! Highly recommend!

First time to this location NuLu Marketplace square. Almost a block of building with great shops and restaurants located inside the square. Great idea! This place was busy and hidden away from the streets surrounding the building created a great atmosphere. We first walked about; it a bit confusing at first since the courtyard was extremely busy; great place to kick back and enjoy the camaraderie of patrons. We found ourselves in West Sixth NuLu; quite the busy place with about 8 bartenders all very busy. Liked the beer list; but we were looking for pizza; their menu looked interesting but just no pizza. So we found Emmy Squared. Sat down there and went back to West Sixth for drinks. The stouts were tasty and the cider crisp. Definitely a place to check out!

Came here for an after work social. The ambiance is hipster/industrial. Located in NuLu, a very happening neighborhood with tons of shops and restaurants. I wanted to like the beer, but tried several and just could not. The best tasting to me was Snake Buns, which is a dark port with Christmas-y flavors. Heavy with high alcohol. Could only drink half. All others had a weird aftertaste. Maybe the water? I didn't try the food but was told by coworkers that it isn't good.

Maybe 1 of my favorite brew spots in the area, tucked among multiple eateries, and offering a variety of beers at very low price, I highly recommend checking it out and trying the different beers and even taking some cans to Go. A great spots tucked with a variety of eateries to have while enjoying a bunch different beers from pizza, to Mexican, and everything in between at very moderately prices. The service was great and staff at tentative and I was really surprised How low the bill was for What we drank and even the few cans we purchased to have later back at the house.

Maybe my new favorite brewery! I like the beer so much I even buy cans at the grocery nearby. My husband and I went to enjoy the patio and the candy bar pairings for Halloween. Every pour was delicious, and pairing them with candy made them even better. Friendly staff, great space, and great beer. What more could you want?

Favorite brewery in Louisville, hands down. Location is awesome with the various restaurants and other bars surrounding it. Sat outside on the rooftop and had some great beers!

Really great meeting spot in Nulu. This is a must stop place on a Louisville bar crawl in my opinion. Selection is great along with flight options, a new food menu, and other non-beer options like their gin/vodka slushees.

I have been to west 6th many times and always loved it. We went on a chilly rainy night and it was a warm little oasis in the elements. Beers always tasty! My husband got a hopstatic (left) and I got golden something (Belgian, not sure exact name!!) parking can be a bit tricky because lot(free) is small for shared businesses there. We had to park on the street which took sometime to find an open spot!

Great venu for craft beer. Solid product. I tried several on the board. Coco Porter was my favorite. Service on the other had was not so good. The place was busy but the bar had 4 bartenders and many open seats with no lines. They did stay busy but didn't do well making rounds around the seats at the bar. I sat 30 minutes after my beer was empty before a bartender asked if I wanted another.

Ok so I first came here when this place first opened during the pandemic and for a Yelp Elite event in late 2020. I didn't come here a whole lot until recently for Ale Trail and 502 Books and Brews. This brewery is located in the ever growing NuLu Marketplace. West Sixth is located towards the back past Emmy Square Pizza. The inside is very spacious with many tables and bar seating (Yay for bar seating) . They have great choices for beer to go or stick around for a beer or two on tap. I have done flights the past few times I been here. My favorite beers so far have been their best seller the West 6th IPA and most of their dark beers. You get a wooden coin with your flight for either $1 off merch or they donate that dollar to a charity. First time I went with merch and got one of their long sleeve shirts, this past visit I gave it to a charity. This is a great brewery to stop by if your shopping in the NuLu marketplace or just want to see what the buzz is all about. There are a few restaurants around and you can bring food there.I give 5 stars for service and great beer. I do see myself coming back here more and more. It feels more happy and bright than when they first opened during the pandemic.

Went to a wedding reception in the upstairs venue space this past weekend. The venue was nice. The couple had an outside vendor for food and beer and vine were being served at the bar. Bartenders were pleasant and friendly. It was really cold in the space and the chairs at the tables where we ate were extremely uncomfortalbe so we sat in the only overstuffed, comfortable chairs in the venue. Parking is also an issue. There is street parking and a couple of dozens parking spots in the lot off of Main Street but on a Saturday night in NULU it made parking difficult, especially walking in heels to get to the event. They did have outside seating as well. So although a nice spot there were some things I didn't care for.

Always a good go to in nulu! We call west sixth our old reliable when we are in the area. Staff is always helpful and nice when I'm here!

Spme street parking and we came through an alley. Plenty of seating inside and out and some merchandise. Friendly staff. We ordered a flight of 5 [$12]. They have some snacks here but there's a pizza place around here. West Sixth Cerveza - similar to a Corona with a little more flavor. Fairly light and easy to drink. Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter - not as cocoa as I would have liked but still a good Porter in general. West Sixth Amber Ale - lighter amber Ale than I anticipated and a little light on the taste. It is simple and easy to drink though. Strawberry Kölsch - got a hint of Strawberry in the taste and it's pretty good. I did enjoy this one and it's probably my 2nd favorite. Christmas Ale - I really enjoyed this one and would probably say it is my favorite out of the 5. Good spice blend without it being overpowering.

This is a great place to stop by for a couple of beers on a nice night! The menu is always changing and has some great options! The service was excellent- they let us try a couple beers until we found the perfect one! The outdoor seating area shares a space with some other businesses- so grab a bite to eat next door at Emmy Squared and bring it over!

Truly one of my favorite places in Louisville to grab a pint, a very, very tasty pint in fact. If you're a fan of hazy IPAs, I recommend you look no further than my favorite tap of Fuzzy Fields. As the name suggests, this perfectly golden and yes, fuzzy, hazy IPA sends tingles to every last one of your taste buds. The ambiance is very relaxed. Beer tenders are all kind and friendly. You can bring your dog. No food served but Nulu is stacked with options you can bring in to munch on while you sip glorious beer. They have a really great trivia event every Sunday at 5:00. Jake, the host, is fantastically charismatic and puts together a challenging but fun to play game.

We've been excited about West Sixth coming to Louisville, keeping up with their groundbreaking. They've moved forward with their opening even with the challenge of Covid. The space is great, especially because it's connected to the new outdoor marketplace. We enjoyed amber beer today ($6) on the patio. Order inside or scan the menu at each outside table. They also have Legacy caps with their logo, which my husband bought. (This is what happens when he's not supervised!) Future brewer and barrel room coming.

Stopped by West Sixth NuLu. Have been a fan of their beer for a long time. They have a very large indoor space, and a nice patio area. With fans!!! The patio area is open to patios of other NuLu Market business' patios which makes for a fun outdoor area.

I checked this place out briefly while driving through Louisville, and was really impressed. It is a great brewery. Large beer selection with a wide variety of beer types and styles. They have indoor and outdoor seating; however I think the patio is definitely where it's at! I love the setting of this place and the cute courtyard that it shares with other local businesses. The bartender was super friendly and gave us beer recommendations too! Highly recommend next time you're in Nulu!

West Sixth is one of the most ubiquitous breweries in Kentucky. If a bar or concession stand needs a go-to IPA to placate the craft beer crowd, they're likely going to put West Sixth's flagship IPA on tap; the cocoa porter and amber ale are also pretty famous. It's a reliable, crowd-pleasing brewery, but not one that's in the upper echelon. While the beer tends to land in the "good but not great" camp, the NuLu taproom certainly elevates the West Sixth experience. They knew the NuLu crowd was gonna bum-rush the place and by God, they came prepared. It's one of the most sizable taprooms around and is VERY well-staffed with kindly, efficient bartenders. Even on Friday or Saturday, you're unlikely to run into any issues securing the pints you crave; this taproom is a well-oiled machine. Additionally, some beers are brewed in NuLu itself instead of West Sixth's native Lexington. They're tagged as NuLu brews on the menu, and you should definitely prioritize them. In particular, the Talus single-hop IPA is easily the best West Sixth product I've yet to try. Not an essential Louisville brewery but still a very pleasant addition to any night in NuLu, especially if you're jonesing for some pinball.

This is a place that understands the concerns of COVID-19 and still wants people to be able to enjoy their beers. Outside (shared) patio seating, huge door that's open, limited indoor seating spaced apart, take away options.... On top of that, they have hand sanitizer by the door, lines for where to walk and stand, and every staff member is correctly wearing a mask. If you really want to drink around others, or just want a beer to go, give them a chance!

I had a great experience here. The bartender Chloe was very helpful and nice. She gave me a few beer samples to try. I ended up going with the Berlinerita slushee and loved it. If you don't like ginger I wouldn't recommend but if you like bourbon it was perfect for the warm summer day. Highly recommend it if you like bourbon or ginger. They also have a slushee with tequila for the tequila lovers. I definitely will be coming back.

I think this is a great spot for a brewery... nestled right in the Nulu Marketplace. It definitely feels like it anchors the whole marketplace. I didn't feel entirely welcomed by the staff. We walked to the bar from within the Nulu Marketplace courtyard and was taking a look at the menu. There were about 4 staff members standing around at the bar, and we weren't greeted by any of them. We ordered our beers and went back out into the courtyard to enjoy them. We ended up venturing up to the second level to overlook the courtyard. I had gotten a flight and enjoyed most of the beers I picked out. The courtyard is really cute and relaxing. I would definitely come back here - this is a cool spot for grabbing drinks with friends!

This is a solid establishment, but not my favorite tasting beer in town. Pros? They have a wide variety of taps at all times Perfectly happy with doggos inside and out which is awesome Staff is all friendly and knowledgeable Diverse crowd that comes here... families, working people, couples, friend groups, all sorts The bathrooms are always clean Neat location in Nulu with lots of space to spread out and choose what experience you want Good tasting flight size Their mexican lager is on point, also love their good beer lager and their Belgian triple Lots of options to bring food from other places here or order it to get delivered if you're fancy Cons? I'm usually only a fan of a few of their very long tap list of beers at a time but the ones that are good are really good Pricing is a bit high for the area I do wish they had ice... lol

Always love visiting west sixth in Lexington so was excited to try the NuLu location! Of course same delicious beer and friendly staff! Love the location and ambiance- loads of seating, inside and out! Located on the courtyard with other local businesses. Had so much fun Sunday I went again Monday with friends! Enjoyed a delicious flight both times! Cheers!

I love West Sixth! Such a fun space with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. You can bring in your own food or order for delivery since they really don't have anything other than snacks. I am gluten free and they have so many options for drinks that are fun, like slushies and their new hard cider. Service is always great here and I love coming for yoga on mondays!

West Sixth is awesome! I've had some of their beers before, so I know coming in that I was going to enjoy it. I've always wanted to check it out in Lexington, but now that we have our own it makes it much easier to visit! First off, I love the new Nulu Marketplace. It's such a fun hangout area, and I also love how it's hidden behind buildings in an alley-way. Even though West Sixth doesn't serve food, Emmy Squared Pizza is right next door! There are many different beers to try from, and their staff are very friendly to help give recommendations. I was a little sad to not be able to try a flight due to COVID, but the Cranberry Sour caught my attention immediately. LOVED it!! I can't wait to come back to West Sixth to try some other flavors. Another great addition to Nulu!

West Sixth NuLu is an awesome spot with really solid beers. We popped in early on a Thursday and enjoyed a flight at the bar. The space is really cool and has a great, open feel to it. I imagine it's pretty good time on Friday or Saturday night. Beers were very good, especially the Meadoweisse and the Strawberry Kolsch.

I was very excited to try this brewery! Open air space with plenty of seating outside in the cool courtyard also. They have a great selection of beers! We tried 2 of their new beers, Nuzu, a pale wheat ale, and Waffle Waffle, a maple cinnamon scotch ale. Both were really good! If you are a fan of porters, their Cocoa Porter is one of the best. Good customer service too. We will be back.

Spacious bar area, both inside and outside. They offer a great selection of beer-from lower alcohol to the darker higher alcohol options. Located within the Market Place, it's such a great location. Every visit is a different experience-but most importantly...the beer is delicious and you can always satisfy your taste buds.

This place - these people - these beers.... Second to none! The staff is extremely helpful to those looking to find their way in the craft beer world and make everyone feel at home.

Super excited for this new GIANT location in NuLu. Lexington based West Sixth has been a solid option for KY brews on tap and in cans around town, but it's nice that they not only opened a tap room in Louisville but picked a KILLER space within NuLu Marketplace. They've got two floors with indoor and outdoor seating both upstairs and downstairs. It's open enough that social distancing has been pretty doable the times we've visited. Service has always been great every time I've been and it's been fun to get to try beers beyond what they offer in cans. I can definitely see myself meeting up with friends here as there's room for groups.

How do you not give this brewery five stars?! I love West Sixth beer, and their brewery are just the best. It's probably because I have such an affinity for excellent customer service, and they have the best. I have been to West Sixth in Lexington several times, and every time, I have been treated with great respect. West Sixth NuLu did not let me down. Today was not my first visit here since I was here the first day that they started curbside service, but for every time, I am welcomed into their establishment with a friendly hello and a smile that is noticeable even through the masks that are worn. Kaitlyn has always been friendly ever since Iet her at the Lexington location, and today I met Austin. As for their selection, wow! They have always had an excellent selection for purchase, but I was blown away at the massive selection that they have on draft from their brewery. They have styles that range from light, amber ales to more robust flavors that are found in their flagship IPA and the double IPA collaboration with Gravely called Dueling Banjos. My partner is a big fan of stouts, and they have a nice selection of bourbon barrel aged versions. The venue itself is very open with a nice patio, which is great during this COVID pandemic. Not only do they have plenty of open space and masked employees, but they promote social distancing and have hand sanitizer on hand. This is a definite spot for hanging and enjoying beer.

West Sixth NuLu benefits mostly from being part of the NuLu Marketplace courtyard area. But I am glad they are there, a good anchor for the new courtyard restaurant and retail area. West Sixth beer is not hard to find in town, since they are only from the relatively close by Lexington. But a tap room always makes trying new and seasonal brews more economical! So I am glad that there is a direct line to their less-widely-distributed and specialty offerings, and closer to home without having to drive halfway across the state. I like the outdoor seating options. Inside it a little less welcoming to me than the Lexington location. And the staff I have interacted with come across as annoyed. But could be I've just gone at busy times or when they are having a bad day. I guess, if I had been there more times rather than just the few times I have gone, and they had still been cranky....that would knock my rating down. But basically, the service is not a draw or positive addition to a stop in here.

This spot was cool. It hides in the back of market street so iys very low key and a chill vibe. I enjoy the different beers and I would definitely be back there for another drink.

I've stopped in here twice now and enjoyed everything I've had to drink! I tried both their beer and their beer slushee and they were both great! I especially liked how the beer slushee wasn't overly sweet

West Sixth Nulu is in a trendy, sophisticated area of Louisville with eateries and boutique shops. It is located in an area of businesses that share open space outside with tables for two and for groups. We ordered a flight of five to try the multiple beers they have on draft. I found out they actually brew their beer in Lexington and this is a second location for them. The beers we ordered were the Michler Weisse, Lemongrass Wheat, Meadoweisse Berlinger Weisse, West Sixth Anber Ale and the Sour Ale. It was a nice day so they had the doors open out to the patio. We sat outside in the shade and enjoyed our beer. They were all good but I thought the Sour Ale was the best. We bought a six pack to carry out from the cooler inside the brewer for $9.99 plus tax, which is a good deal. They had other canned beers in addition to the Sour Ale. Nice brewery with friendly service to boot! Next time I am in the area I plan on returning.

The beer is solid, the atmosphere and space are amazing and you can bring your dog! It's hidden back off the street, but it's worth venturing back. I'll definitely be back!

Seems like a cool place but... Maybe I'm thinking it's a bar but I saw 2 TVs neither was in during Saturday afternoon. It's a brewery but not really cause the beer is made in Lexington. May e I'm being picky and maybe it's better later in the night. But for me on a Saturday afternoon, it was just ok. They did have beer tho... of which I had 2 and wouldn't want either again. NuLu is cool tho so they have that going for them and location is everything. I'll try them again and see.

The best way for me to explain how I felt about this brewery, it's vibe & their beers is to let you know that it is the only brewery in which I have visited and walked away with a 12 pack.

We recently visited Nulu Marketplace while our friends were in town. I'm a big fan of West Sixth beer so I was excited to visit. Great selection...something for everyone! The inside is huge, plenty of tables spread out. And there's lots of seating in the courtyard outside. They don't serve food but Emmy Squared pizza is right next door and I'm pretty sure you can bring in other food. You go in and order at the bar, they have menus set up all around. They even have glasses filled with clean and dirty pens to sign your check! We all felt very comfortable. A few faves of ours were the West Sixth IPA, one of the lagers, the bourbon barrel stout and the cerveza. They had an Angels Envy beer I really wanted to try, but the keg just tapped. So now I'll have to go back soon lol. All the employees were super friendly, quick service. We went on a Tuesday night with our pup and it wasn't too crowded but I can see how it could get during the weekends...especially if there's games going on. They also sell 4 and 6 packs to go! Which was a nice surprise for our friends staying in a hotel down the street. All in all, we had an awesome night here and can't wait to go back soon!

Great, dog-friendly atmosphere. We spent our early evening of New Years Eve hanging out at this brewery. The staff was friendly and took time to explain their drinks options to us newbies even though they were wild busy! They had the peach bowl (go dawgs!) playing for us on huge projection screens. Pin ball machines too. Able to bring food in from outside businesses. Beers were delicious - lots of IPA options and at least one beer option in the different categories.

Good vibe, nice space, excellent beer. Price range moderate to expensive, but worth it.

Love the beer, the staff, and the atmosphere. There's always a great selection available. They have event space too. A must visit for locals and visitors!
