We decided to head into cottage country for Easter weekend. Naturally, my quest for good food did not end when we left the city.
Upon arrival, we found about 3 groups ahead of our table of 3, but still managed to get a table within about 15 minutes. It seems that since being on tv, this has become the local breakfast hot spot, and wait times in the summer can get pretty excessive. But with good reason, as EVERYTHING on the breakfast menu was under $10 pre tax and had some really interesting options for meat lovers and fruit/veggie fans alike. As a Toronto resident, this was very appreciated (I'm so tired of places charging $14 for mediocre breakfasts/brunch offerings with minimal options).
After debating between a few items, I settled on the PB&B&B. Also known as Peanut Butter & Banana & Bacon French Toast. 4 pieces of french bread cooked up into french toast with a spread of peanut butter, sliced bananas, and strips of bacon in between and on top of the bread. Once it was all sliced up and had maple syrup in the mix as well, I was destroying this tasty breakfast plate. I'll admit it they could've toned back the peanut butter amount, but it was a tasty flavour combination all in all. The only way it got better, was when I ordered a side of their pulled pork to add another pig-based element to the plate. FLAVOUR DOMINATION!!!! A nice and sweet yet savoury pulled pork.
My wife had some sort of turkey bacon wrap and an accompanying family member had some heavily berry-saturated waffles. Everyone loved their meal. For the 3 plates, 2 coffees, 1 orange juice, and a side of pulled pork, the bill came to only $40 post tax pre tip.
I wish I could take a table of 3 for breakfast like that and only pay $40 in Toronto.
5 stars, without hesitation.
