West Wittering Beach

Beautiful beach walk between East and West Wittering today. The sand at West Wittering seems to stretch for miles and it’s fab to just sit and take in the vista.

A fantastic beach for watersports but does get very busy in the summer and on warm days. The beach itself is huge and with short walk leads to the stunning East Head. Plenty of room for all but the journey there can be challenging on busy days. Recommended these days to book the car park in advance. The parking price can be a bit high unless you are staying all day. However this very definitely is a place to stay all day. Good facilities and cafe available. Our photos don't show do it justice!

This is probably one of the most lovely beaches in the south of UK. It’s clean, spacious, plenty of toilets well maintained, lots of delicious food options but prepare yourself for a long wait in the line (aprox. 1 hour) at peak times - fish and chips is quite a massive portion for just under £10 and customer service on a fast paced environment it’s quite impressively calm and welcoming. The car park is on the field, as long as they have cut the grass there is plenty of parking, if they haven’t cut enough grass they will do it on the go as cars pull in just to create more space - quite pro-active on this which shows a good administration. The car park fee is £15 per day, you can pay at the kiosk or scan the QR code and if you have forgotten anyway you’ll have 48 hours to do so. By the way, this end of July 2024 I’ve put my feet in the warmest sea of the last decade in the UK - felt like a heated pool.

Great beach on the South Coast, haven’t been here for many years and although the old cafe and shop have gone (a new cafe has been built) the beach is almost unchanged. Plenty of room to enjoy either on the grass fields or on the sandy beach. When the tide is out it provides lovely flat sand for quite a distance.

Absolutely love this place. It’s a beach. It’s not too far from London. People say hello to each other when they pass. The Bosham Inn is a great place to eat. Come visit King Cnut (Canute) Country… Bosham lays claim to being the place where Cnut tried to halt the tide…

The beach is gorgeous and worth the 5/5 rating if you ignore the endless amount of people. However the whole experience is completely ruined by the parking situation. It took roughly 45 mins get to the car park and 1 hour 30 mins to leave! There are dozens of staff employed to direct the flow of traffic but it’s clearly not helping.

Great beach with lots of parking, but you do need to book in advance in peak and busy times. New building being built and nice food store. When the tides go out, the water is shallow and the small islands pop up every where, the sand is very fine and pretty clean.

Had the most amazing day at West Wittering Beach today. Rolled up to the beach car park, easy access parking, grabbed all our stuff and headed down to the beach to find a spot. Absolutely beautiful day, great clean beach and especially for young children to splash around all day. Big shout out to the life guards for doing a great job keeping everyone safe on a day like today. 5*

Great day out, lovely to actually go to a family and dog friendly beach that's sand and not have to drive miles. Only down side is having to pay for parking otherwise would be a 5/5 experience. Highly recommended
