This is a very popular beach among many British beaches. It is not only very large but also has very fine sand. Even if you walk on it barefoot, you will not feel any discomfort. If you like to go in the water, you can come here to have a good time during the heat wave. But even if you don’t like swimming, walking barefoot on this beach is also a very good holiday program. Many families and couples will bring their equipment to enjoy a wonderful afternoon.

Love this beach. If you can time it at low tide there are miles of sandy beach with little pools to paddle in. You can save money by pre booking parking the day before ( pre 11pm I think) . Then a short walk to the beach. If you turn left towards east wittering ( about 1.5 miles I think) there is a lovely walk and dunes. If you turn right there are cafes and food…but restrictions over dogs on beach in front of the huts. The day we were there there were a big group of kids doing litter picking and the beach was beautiful

Good place to visit with kids to play with sand and make castles. Easy to swim and we enjoyed a lot. Good time to visit after 12pm and when it is becoming late the water flow will go return. If you are going in the weekend book parking slot in advance

Incredible beach, silky sand, safe for children as you can walk almost a mile out to sea and it’s knee deep especially at low tide. Great for canoeing and sup boards Note that traffic can be crazy to get in if the weather is great so leave early and be prepared to leave late. Pack a picnic as not much around in forms of shops as it’s really remote with ample parking. We paid £15.75 on way out. The have registration tracking as you come in so easy to pay via QR code etc Beach feels endless and lots of space to create your own spot like we did for the children and our dog with a bit a bit of shade from a pop up tent

As beaches go, West Wittering is definitely one of the most notable. When the tide pulls away (and it really does pull away), it allows for a refreshing dip into the clear water on a balmy day, but when the tide begins to roll in, it comes in hot - it's why the lifeguards are always alert and warn beach goers to not swim too far out, lest they be dragged out beyond the reaches of the shore. The sand at West Wittering is of the powder soft variety and allows for great picnic opportunities - if you can withstand the menacing seagulls that engulf you the moment you take any food out. Parking spaces are aplenty and the toilet facilities are decent, too. On a scorching Summer day, this beach is absolutely ideal for the sand, sun, sea and relaxation. You can't go far wrong here.

Such a stunning beach and excellent facilities. The lifeguards were highly professional and attentive, without being overbearing. We visited on a Wednesday and arrived at 10.45am when the beach was fairly quiet. It became more busier after lunch but still plenty of space to pitch up and enough room around us to build sandcastles etc. The water is beautiful and clear; and the tide goes out quite far so great to walk along the sandbanks that show. The toilets are impeccable and plenty of them. The showers were functional; one tiny gripe…the water could have been a bit warmer in the showers but apart from that, highly recommend this beach for a day trip from London. Make sure you pre-book your parking as well. Very organised and definitely will be visiting again.

The beach and view are gorgeous. Heaps of parking, a restaurant, toilets and life guards. Downside is that it is VERY popular ... too crowded. £15 to park ... we had a nice lunch and left. To be fair - school hols & good weather Sunday is NOT the best time to visit if you don't want crowds. Traffic management - signposting re: likely waiting times if your headed to the beach - would be very useful. We would definitely have turned around had we known what we were queueing for and how long that would take.

Amazing beach, my new favourite! It was the 1st time we visited, so didn't know what to expect. We didn't take anything with us apart from towels. There is NO shade anywhere, so take umbrellas/beach tents with you. We've burnt to chrisp. 2 weeks later still peeling. Apart from that it was amazing, we had a blast wave jumping.

Yelp
Great day out, lovely to actually go to a family and dog friendly beach that's sand and not have to drive miles. Only down side is having to pay for parking otherwise would be a 5/5 experience. Highly recommended
