A wide, relaxed beach that’s worth the drive 🌅
I’ve been to West Wittering Beach a few times now, and even though it’s a bit further out for me, it’s one I keep returning to. The beach itself feels wide and open, with very soft sand that’s easy to walk on and comfortable to sit on.
Parking has always felt straightforward during my visits, and there’s somewhere nearby to get food if you don’t bring your own. On calmer days, the coastline has a clean, open feel that reminds me of beaches I’ve visited abroad. It’s also often less windy than some other coastal spots, which makes it easier to relax for longer.
On one visit, the number of seagulls around people eating stood out. When food was left out, it quickly attracted birds and disrupted the area nearby, so it’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning to eat on the sand.
Facilities are close to the beach and have felt well maintained when I’ve used them. The sunsets are another highlight, especially when the sky is clear. Overall, it’s an easy and reliable place to spend time by the coast when the weather’s good.
