We went to the Westenra for a girl's night out with work and it was brilliant from start to finish. Pauric and his team gave us a very warm welcome. There were 11 of us, and we were kindly seated in the lobby with a waiter taking our drinks - such a lovely touch! We had a great table upstairs in the bar; spacious, airy, and perfect for chatting without having to shout. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for facilitating a great night out - 10/10!

We buried our Mothers ashes before we had lunch in the westenra. Many of us stayed both nights and some one night. All were satisfied with the accommodation for a small hotel. The lunch and facilities provided for the function were excellent and the event was managed by the staff with efficiency and respect. The pre event organisation was made very easy by the events team.

Stayed here for one night. Really nice hotel in an extremely central location. Rooms were very clean & comfortable & have everything you need e.g., tea/coffee facilities with biscuits, drinking water, bathroom essentials provided, iron & ironing board , hairdryer, hangers, etc. The staff were amazing, so welcoming, friendly & helpful - especially the lady at the reception desk whom we chatted to every time we passed. Also big thanks to her for upgrading my mum & dad’s room to a suite, which made their stay so special. We had both our evening meal & breakfast in the hotel & the food was outstanding - everything we had was delicious. Overall a top class experience & we can’t wait to go back next year!

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the area/family.||The room was ok, we were up on the 3rd floor during a warm couple if days. Some street noise due to the proximity of a late bar/night club close by. |All staff we came across were friendly and accommodating.|Free car park at the back of the hotel.|WiFi good even on the top floor.|Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs were particularly good.|Evening meal however was a disappointment on both nights. First night had the fish and chips, took the batter off the fish as it was very greasy and the fillet was small for the cost. Next night had the chicken Caesar salad and I should have learnt from the previous night as the chicken was battered and I didn’t enjoy it - admittedly I misread the menu and thought it would be chicken breast fillets but it was battered chicken. That said the sweet potato fries were pleasant. I thought the choice of food was poor. ||Management please note, we sat in Reception on Sunday and witnessed several people coming in asking for sandwiches/a light lunch but only a carvery, soup or scone offered. So lots of customers turned away.

Stayed here for the June bank Holiday. Was woken at 7.00 AM with the sound of a power washer. Fumes in the window and after hour I went to reception to be informed that the Council was washing path. I got night porter to open door and the hotel was being washed down the walls and the Side of the building. Fumes in the rooms and feeling sick. Complained that morning and wrote and E mail at 7.40 AM on the same day. No reply after 2 weeks and made a call. Got a reply after 2 days saying sorry and Washing company,s fault and they are insured ?. |Rang again to seek clarifications re the E mail and Ciaran apologized and said he would ring back the next day after he spoke to the general manager. After one more E mail to Ciaran I have still heard nothing from the hotel after 2 weeks. After being woken at 7.AM on the Bank holiday Monday and feeling sick with the fumes in the room. Terrible customer care and terrible experience.

Two couples stayed for one night meeting up with relatives from the Monaghan area. We had dinner which was excellent and the service was superb. All the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful and nothing to much trouble. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. We would highly recommend the Westenra Arms Hotel.|Ger & Anne

We were in the bar for food and we were served by Katie. The food was excellent but the service was even better. Katie was very friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back.
