Westenra Arms Hotel

Stayed here for the June bank Holiday. Was woken at 7.00 AM with the sound of a power washer. Fumes in the window and after hour I went to reception to be informed that the Council was washing path. I got night porter to open door and the hotel was being washed down the walls and the Side of the building. Fumes in the rooms and feeling sick. Complained that morning and wrote and E mail at 7.40 AM on the same day. No reply after 2 weeks and made a call. Got a reply after 2 days saying sorry and Washing company,s fault and they are insured ?. |Rang again to seek clarifications re the E mail and Ciaran apologized and said he would ring back the next day after he spoke to the general manager. After one more E mail to Ciaran I have still heard nothing from the hotel after 2 weeks. After being woken at 7.AM on the Bank holiday Monday and feeling sick with the fumes in the room. Terrible customer care and terrible experience.

Have eaten here several times. The staff are always polite, friendly and helpful. The food is always good too.

Two couples stayed for one night meeting up with relatives from the Monaghan area. We had dinner which was excellent and the service was superb. All the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful and nothing to much trouble. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. We would highly recommend the Westenra Arms Hotel.|Ger & Anne

We had a fantastic meal in here today. The food was absolutely next to none while the service was also acceptionable. We shall be returning and looking forward to that. There is a carpark at the back which can be accessed from the left side of the front. Ask the staff for a token when leaving as you will need it to exit the carpark.

We were in the bar for food and we were served by Katie. The food was excellent but the service was even better. Katie was very friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back.

My mum and dad has been going to the west for bar food for years when they can and even after mum's passing my dad always went there for bar food still when he cud. He went there this eve looking forward to having food he enjoys when can only to be told by a very rude manager that he was not coming in and he hadn't booked. He was told he wud have to wait till 8:30 it's fully booked. Yet the bar where he wud always sit was not even occupied. He does not drink alcohol he does have a meal and leaves. He had been working from 6am this morning. Food stops at 8:30 so y tell someone ud have to wait till 8:30. My dad was not rude but left feeling very insulted and upset by it. I'm disgusted how my dad was treated. Shame on Ur establishment to allow staff to speak to human pl that way. Place already has a bad name from they choose new staff. They lost wonderful staff due to new staffs ignorance. U mite treat outsiders with respect to gain Ur profits. But don't disrespect Ur own community pl.

Popped into the Western hotel for a coffee and something to eat. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The scones and coffee we ordered were very nice and the front area is very nicely decorated.

First time eating out here, carvery pork chops 10/10 15e per plate, staff first class. Very cosy inside, decoration very classy
