Must visit. If incredible hospitality meets delicious food crossed with epic views. What’s not to like. Parking can be a tad difficult but they try to save spots for people visiting the restaurant and not just for hikers heading to the waterfall. The coffee is hot and dark and strong - yum. Waffles are thick and soft and delicious. The ice cream with caramel was the favorite but the jam with the sour cream also delectable.

Such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and professional and the daughter of the owners even took her time to tell us the story of the place and gave us recommendations for hiking routes. Top of the cherry was definitely the goats walking underneath the floor. Authentic, lovely and completely worth a visit.

When it comes to food, I wasn’t expecting much in a small town. I was just looking for a non-fish soup on a rainy day to take-away and found this place on Google. I grew a little concerned as I was driving further away from main part of town and into a small one way road. But, I’m glad I stumbled upon this place. I was pleasantly surprised by the mini-fine dining ambiance. It was very cute and quiet. Staff seemed very professional and the open kitchen was really clean. I still ended up taking out because I needed to get back but the food was good even as take out. I imagine it would’ve been better there. Would love to come back and dine in person.

The owner is a really kind and wise man who knows many interesting things, not only about places in Geiranger. We had a great, but not big cabin with an amazing view in the morning. Also there is a good parking zone. The goats near the cabin were also a fun and unique experience, just don’t forget to close the main entrance! Nice to сome back to this place again!

10/10 recommend hiking all the way to Storsæterfossen Waterfall and stopping for food on the way down. We had an amazing dinner after our hike! The food was delicious and the views were incredible. There was no one at all around us on the outdoor patio and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Definitely a hidden gem (maybe not so hidden but was to us until we happened upon it).

Wow, what a place! We were blown away by our dinner experience. The food, views, atmosphere, service, employees. Perfection. The perfect meal to end our day. Easily the best stop in Geiranger!

Such a lovely place! Incredible view, delicious food and nicest service. We tried goat cheese from their farm and waffles, and it was just great. Would love to come back one day.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here for a lovely dinner on our night in Geiranger. We were staying at Union Hotel and hiked up to the restaurant - about a 30 minute uphill walk through a beautiful trail and a farm at the top with a bunch of sheep! We arrived around 6:15 and it was fairly quiet, definitely winding down from peak season. We weren't super hungry so we split the entree of sea trout and the appetizer of smoked salmon salad. The salad was tasty, I found the ingredients a bit random together but it was very fresh nonetheless. The sea trout dish was delicious - it was very reminiscent of salmon. The accompanying veggies and sauce were tasty as well and it was a very hearty portion. There was fog in the valley all day so unfortunately we couldn't see any of the fjord below but I imagine on a sunny day, the view from the terrace would be quite impressive! It was a very cozy interior as well too; was interesting to look at all the old timey decor. What a quaint, unique dinner experience.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh restaurant with quality local ingredients! The road up to the restaurant is extremely sketchy as its a steep one lane road with two way traffic. It was worse for us as it was foggy and raining hard while we were driving up.. Luckily we didn't encounter any opposing traffic on our drive up. Use GPS and drive slowly to look for the signs leading to the road up as it can be easy to miss. The views from the restaurant windows are great even with foggy weather. You can see up to the viewpoint and down to the fjord! We visited after doing the nearby hike to the waterfall and ordered from the lunch menu. We ordered an open faced salmon sandwich and a waffle with strawberry jam. We told them we were going to share and they decided on their own to nicely plate both halves for us separately! We also got our first taste of the Gerainger Brewery beer here! Great place to visit before or after a hike but be careful with the drive.

Yelp
A little expensive (entrées are around 240NOK) but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food that this restaurant at the Westeras Farm puts out. We were staying there for the night, so we chose to eat here after seeing the good reviews on TripAdvisor. There are only three choices for entrées. My boyfriend opted for the salmon, and I chose the beef entrecote without cream sauce, and they asked for my preferred doneness for the beef. The food is well-plated and well-executed. My beef was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The potatoes and carrots (fresh from the farm) had a nice crisp crust. The raspberry sauce was a nice addition as well. We did not have room for dessert, but the desserts at the other tables looked great.

Yelp
Delicious food in gorgeous surroundings. Charming indoor area and epic porch near grazing goats. Staff super friendly. You can hike here from behind the Union Hotel or drive up. Road once you turn off the main road is very narrow. If you hike to the waterfall from here we recommend the new trail which is better constructed.

Yelp
Getting to this place in and of it's self is an adventure because you have to go up tight road with gates and drive through fields with sheep. There are hikers sharing the road as well as one-way traffic that has to navigate on a steep cliff side how to get around each other. It's the beginning of the kind of effort that's required behind the food as well it's absolutely exquisite. We had pretty much everything on the menu it's not a large menu and so that doesn't say that much. I wouldn't call the food simple by any means but I would say for sure it is everything you'd want in a finally prepared meal. In fact not a thing was out of place in it's preparation and the way it was plated! Services friendly personable and they have cabins for rent nearby so it's super casual environment with views of the entire fjord in the village below. The fact that when I making this post there's one only other post with the review means absolutely nothing I can't imagine that there's any other restaurant in town that's better. If you ask the locals they'll definitely tell you that when their friends are in town this is where they send them to eat.
