All I have to say is eat here. Went in for the first time and the food was great! Tons of different stuff to try and huge portion. I would imagine that this place gets packed we went in pretty early and it was somewhat busy. We just wanted some basic breakfast meals the first time trying the place but we saw some of the plates that were brought out to the other customers and everything looked so good. We will definitely be heading back to this spot for sure!! Loved it here!

Google
Western Omelette is the kind of breakfast spot that makes you want to unbutton your jeans before you eat. The food? Amazing. But let’s talk about that chili—they let you sample all of them, which is both generous and a little dangerous. Holy HOT! 🔥 (In the best way.) Whether you’re into green, red, or “are my eyebrows still attached?” levels of spice, they’ve got you covered. Friendly staff, hearty portions, and chili that’ll wake you up better than coffee. 10/10 would sweat again.

Google
Marvelous experience dining in here. Visiting from out of town for my birthday. Grateful to stumble upon this gem. Alexa was my server and I couldn’t ask for a better one, big smile, great recommendations. Food was definitely worth the price, thank you!

Debra Kaitschuck

Google
Our server told us they were best known for their southwest breakfasts, so we gave those a shot. The breakfast tacos were filling and hit the spot. I ate mine with chorizo and added Cholula. It was just the right amount of food for me. The breakfast chimichanga was a hit with the person who ordered that with some green chili on top. The yummy breakfast was a bit much to eat for a teenager, but was happily finished by the person with the biggest appetite in the group. The child pancake was a pretty decent size and came with thick bacon and a fat sausage as well as eggs. We all left full and satisfied, agreeing we will be back.

Google
This place is outstanding! We loved it soooo much!! The service was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious. This is the place to go for breakfast in the area. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, the prices. 10/10

Google
I have driven by the Western Omelette for years and finally things worked so I could go in. Such a wonderful family owned place. So accomadating for special meal request. And they take pride in making sure each customer is delighted! It is amazing wonderful restaurant!

Google
Small little place but was packed wall to wall. I ordered Yummy french toast plate. I did not like the French toast (there was no flavor and tasted like bread) and my eggs were over cooked. The hash browns were good. My wife ordered a breakfast burrito and she loved it. She got the hottest green chili and it was exactly what she wanted! I would recommend getting a Hispanic breakfast. The American type breakfast just wasn’t it. I’ve had there pancakes before and those were good. Also think $4.26 is a bit high for fountain drinks. Didn’t complain at all. Just ate n left. I will come back but would never order the yummy again.

Google
yeS. yES! YES!!! It warms my heart to experience this Locally owned and operated diner hitting all the right spots. Plentiful parking, I was seated immediately, food was hot, fresh and fast! The staff were professional, friendly, and even lovable! Thanks to Julie for the stellar service; she made me feel like i was the only one in the diner! And special Thanks to Angela for filling by belly and my heart, and minding my dietary concerns. *give them both raises and accolades.

Yelp
Best Breakfast in Colorado Springs! Great coffee, omelettes and pancakes! Always pleasant service.

Yelp
First timer here, loved all the art and pictures of history!! The restaurant was very clean and unique. The menu was pretty long, also the prices were a little high for simple food. But it was good. Four dollars plus for a drink is a little too pricy I say... But I do have to say the service was very delightful. All in all it was a good experience.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service! This is a family diner with regular staff and regular customers. The menu is quite extensive for breakfast and for lunch and alcoholic drinks are served as well. The artwork is eclectic and reminiscent of old route 66 diners. You always feel welcome and the food is reliably good

Yelp
6/17/25 Loved our Server Alma, food was delicious as always! Been coming here for years and we'll keep coming back!

Yelp
Closed an hour early today due to the heat in the kitchen, hello upgrade your ventilation system. Its June in Colorado. Very poor judgment call. Bad for business. We drove over 30 mins to go here.

Raquel M.

Yelp
I've tried many breakfast places in the springs and this place has the best green chili. Portions are big and staff is friendly. One of my favorite spots. Very busy on a Sunday morning but we were seated right away still.

Jim H.

Yelp
On my first visit to Western Omelette server Alma greeted me and we had a friendly visit before I began studying the extensive menu. Alma returned with my water and asked if I needed more time which I did and she went about helping her other tables. She returned a few minutes later to see if I had decided on a meal. I ordered the Yummy Breakfast. As it was mid morning and not very busy my meal was ready quickly. The Yummy Breakfast is a massive platter of french toast, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. At first I thought I had ordered too much food but took my time and ate nearly all of it. I have another favorite downtown Colorado Springs breakfast place I frequent but I will be going back to the Western Omelette in the future as it is very good and a nice vibe.

Yelp
I've enjoyed this restaurant for several years now and will continue to keep going back. The food was great and the service was good too, and I would also like to mention for hand to get people this place is really easy to get into.

Camsie M.

Yelp
One of the best breakfasts I've had while in Colorado. Go online and read the story of why the owner opened the place in 1992. The place has incredible vibe and is so welcoming. Our server Jasmine was super friendly and attentive. The food - so so yummy! Watch out for the green chili - it packs a punch in a very very good way! We spoke with the owner on our way out and told him how awesome it was! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Omelettes are okay their waffle is your typical Waffle House type of gross waffle and there were flies everywhere. There are better breakfast places in town, however the staff was great!
google avatar

Diane G.

Yelp
It's OK. Decent breakfast but nothing special. Good service. My husband had corned beef hash & I had sweet potato hash with 2 eggs. No gluten free bread so I didn't get toast.

Lucy L.

Yelp
Good breakfast food. The breakfast enchiladas are so good with green chili! The pancakes were HUGE! One single one will get the job done. Good service!
google avatar

Mckensie V.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the staff was incredibly sweet. Restaurant was super cool and had lots to look at! It took a sec for us to be checked out but honestly I could care less it was just so good! We had breakfast enchiladas I had the southwestern green chili which was just enough spice and then my boyfriend had the highest spice level chili. For me it was way too much but he loved its great flavor and great staff we will be back!!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for a good breakfast experience, try the Western Omelette Restaurant. The Mexican breakfasts and pancakes are on point. It's a nice atmosphere, with multiple drink options. Not a fan of the cupcake Prosecco, and the service could have been a little better since we sat for 20min before our order was taken, the tables needed to be cleaned, and the pancake came out late since it was entered into the kitchen separate from the rest of the food. But other than those service related issues, I highly recommend.

Yelp
Hubby and I have heard about this place numerous times about the green chili and had to try it out. We were not disappointed. Very clean and friendly staff. We definitely had to take left overs home, which were just as good. I know my green chili and they passed with flying colors. They have several to choose from (mild to vegan to OMG HOT), I chose the southern style.

Yelp
Happy New Years! What a great place to start off 2023 .. 2 of my buddies and I met our good friend Biscuit. Yes, his name is biscuit. No, he does not have that name because we all went to a breakfast spot and had biscuits. Well his actual name isn't Biscuit but that's what we call him! Food was awesome. I had Huevos Rancheros and everything about it was amazing except for one thing. Whenever I order it I never feel confident saying it because I feel like I say it funny. That is probably something I need to work through but it is the TRUTH.

Bella A.

Yelp
Was here on December 24th and the service was horrible. We will in fact not be coming back ever again.

Yelp
I will drive on the other side of town just to come here. I come here because I think the green chili is so freaking amazingly good. Buut I always request the medium heat, you're able to enjoy the flavor and ur food, and at the same time you get enough to almost break a sweat. I tried the Very hot green chili, and those are only for the hardcore brave ones. Let me tell you, my mouth was burning for 30min. I can't tolerate that type of heat but be my guest if that's how you roll. The servers are always so kind and I absolutely love the host, he's always so welcoming. Food is always mouthwatering, huge portions and the waffle is always made to perfection. Also! The Micheladas are so good. The restaurant is always busy but never have to wait for a table and we always come on a Sunday. One of my favorite places for breakfast.

Andrew A.

Yelp
Great food! Genuinely friendly, attentive, and accurate service. Never felt rushed. Had not eaten there since Covid and we were so happy they did not close as they had announced!

Yelp
This place is an institution in Colorado Springs, I can't even describe what they mean to me and have throughout my life. The food is amazing and tastes like home, some dining rooms should NEVER change and the omelette's hasn't in years. You want green chili that's gonna light you on fire? Yea, theirs will. The breakfast burrito is my go to, however the huevos rancheros and the Harley are also favorites. You won't be disappointed in anything you order; servers are rad and always nice and plenty of parking. They do get VERY busy, especially on the weekends but it's totally worth the wait!

Yelp
Food/Drink: 4/5. Multiple items were delicious including the breakfast tacos, pancakes, and the pico was clearly VERY fresh Atmosphere: 4/5. Cool Native American Art. A little cramped though. Service/Prices: 3/5. Service was extremely slow(waiting over an hour for our main course) and at times inaccurate. Our server Grace was amazing(I think she was in training) but the rest of the team was frankly a bit impersonal. Pricing was reasonable. Overall would return to try some of the other food items.

Bethany N.

Yelp
Good food and exceptional service! We had the breakfast tacos, chimichanga and an omelette with a pancake. The food was good and our server was awesome. We got there right as they opened on a Friday morning and had our food within a few minutes of ordering.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
Used to be great service and great food. The service (or maybe just a bad server?) was sub par. She took a long time to seat us and take our order. The food that used to be delicious is now acceptable and nothing exciting.
google avatar

Jodi W.

Yelp
Very busy. Great friendly service. Server was fast , quick and had a great memory. Quick coffee refills. Bacon was very good. Kids plates are great. Eggs were cooked well. Hash Browns nice and crispy. Sausage patties were a little over cooked. Biscuits were dry. Pancakes flour tasting. Plates were huge and a little challenging to move around on small table. We will try again.

Bambi B.

Yelp
Excellent service, comfortable environment and HUGE portions. Will be back when we are in town next!

Yelp
While visiting CO, we were told to try Western Omelette and it did NOT disappoint! The green chili is incredible!! Our waitress was precious and the service by everyone couldn't have been better. I wish we had a Western Omelette in KY!
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
I love the food and the service, but I dock two stars for any place that doesn't offer gluten-free options for their toast/pancake side and want to charge for any other side substitution like fruit. For the love of Pete, it's 2022. Have some gluten-free bread ... Outside the Breadbox (an amazing GF bakery) is a mile away. ‍

Larry B.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Service was attentive. Classic place to eat! A must try in springs!

Aakanksha P.

Yelp
Rude. Unprofessional and rude servers. She seemed to be bothered because we asked for some more syrup for our pancakes! We were asked to pay soon as we took the first bite. The server was annoyed to even refill my cup of coffee. Just don't go here if you want any refills or extras with your food. I'm not sure if the color of my skin was the problem or my face or my gender or what. You can probably get better food anywhere around downtown. The flavor is just average with below-average service.
google avatar

Karina C.

Yelp
Great place with great food! You really get a lot for your money and I've yet to try something I do not like. It's a great mom and pop place with friendly staff. Definitely one of my favorite places!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
I don't know how I had never been here before! The vibe is very old school, loved it. You can tell this is a scratch kitchen, and I can't wait to try more things on their menu. The green chili, sausage quesadilla, and steak and eggs were all fantastic. Service was awesome as well despite being busy. Can't wait to go back.

Ray E.

Yelp
Just a few observations: Air conditioning was not working, but still sat down to eat because we were from Houston, TX. (Originally from Colo Spgs). 1). Asked for coffee, but was served a favorable type which we did not asked for. 2). Waited 40 minutes for our food. 3). All of our food was cold. 4). Waitress did not know what she was doing. Horrible experience, will never come back....

Michelle F.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food! The coffee is hot, and the chili comes in 3 levels of burn. This is a great place to drop in for a filling meal!
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
Long wait almost 1hr 45 min. Our waitress was a bit rude and didn't put our order in. But the manager was nice and had our order out in 15min once I brought it up. Three stars for the food, it was definitely worth waiting normally I would have left, but my niece was comfortable. Coffee was good too.

Coral D.

Yelp
Best Mexican I've had in Colorado so far but if you're looking for truly authentic this place is not it. I recommend because the food is flavorful in comparison to other restaurants I've tried in Colorado. If you're the kind of person who likes your green chile to have flavor and kick then get the medium hot. The hot spicy is ridiculously hot with hardly any flavor and the mild is mild with little flavor. I am from El Paso Tx. Can't beat the mexican food there unless you go to Mexico
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Big place with plenty of capacity. Great big menu. Excellent quality and flavor. The coffee is good too.

Yelp
Look, I'll be honest, 3/5 stars is more than they should get. But I have faith that maybe they had an off day. I tried this place years ago and remember being super disappointed. BUT! I'll give it another shot Let me start by saying, holy cow! First off, they suggest a reservation, cool, can do! So I make a reservation. So I walk in, the "host" can barely peel himself off The wall, but asks me how many. "Two", I say, he says "okay 15+ minutes, but I won't seat you as an Incomplete party (many free tables around, but I get it, some sections aren't available.)" I say "yeah no Worries, I get it!". Meanwhile, a party of 7 walks in, only 3/7 are actually there. The host tells them they'd have to split into 2 parties of 3 & 4, they say okay. He seats them immediately. I realize it's not the last thing in the world to not be sat, but that kinda felt like a fart in the face that he jumped over me. Long story short, after waiting a bit for menus and then an even longer wait to place our order, my friend and I left to grab brunch elsewhere. The staff is not to blame. This is a management issue. Your staff was running their bums off. I could see BOH staff running food. Y'all are a team, and that's obvious, you deserve better.
google avatar

Jeff P.

Yelp
Great old school breakfast place. Must try the green Chile but beware of the hot - very hot! Service was great and very attentive even though restaraunt was full at prime time breakfast hour.
google avatar

Marina M.

Yelp
I had bad experience and then came back and it was worse. I could waste more time telling you more but just know that all the good reviews are really hard for me to believe. It was such bad service and cold food you would have thought they didn't want business. Or maybe they were discriminating against us for some reason? I read the reviews and the people who said they were ignored by the staff, I believe them. The I bet food could be good on some days but it is shocking how little they staff cared and never apologized. I was glad to pay it and never return. Don't go.

Yelp
One of the best authentic breakfast I have had in a long time the house burrito with green chili sauce outstanding! Service was excellent happy friendly staff. Party of four all enjoyed the meal. This is a true authentic and comfort food location must try if the area. Very casual. Large portions. Thanks for a great meal
google avatar

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a great breakfast with huge portions this is the place to be. From start to finish the experience was great. Service was prompt, staff was very friendly, and the food/drinks tasty. Being in the Springs, green chili was a must. My fella who used to be stationed there recommended I ordered the habanero green chili to get my chili fix. After multiple warnings I chose to ignore his warnings and proceeded. The rice and beans accompanying my platter were delicious. The rice was nice and fluffy and beans were full of flavor. The green chili was tasty, but as every bite went on, the sweat particles began dripping down my face. This is not the fanciest of places but it good food, great prices, and a nice local joint. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area, I will be planning a returning trip next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
This place never disappoints I came here two years ago and had a omelette and the Bloody Mary and loved it a gain I'm back 2 years later and love this place had same thing and loved it the only thing is they did away with the pico de gyo and I missed that but highly recommend if you good food good service and a great place to eat
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Overall, too expensive, but here's my review. The food at Western Omelette is good, but the wait for a menu & water is long, the wait to order and receive your meal is even longer!! The omelette was tasty, the hash browns were well browned and the coffee was good. The charge for the small amount of green chile added to the omelette was not worth it. Also, most breakfasts normally come with two pieces of toast; this one only came with one. Total price of omelette smothered with green chile and a cup of coffee was $20.54 before tax and tip. I will not be back. I can't afford $20 for breakfast.

Yelp
I am not going to lie, I am giving them 2 starts instead of 1 because Angel was an amazing server. She was super friendly, always checking on us and even tried to make up for the kitchen's mistakes. We were greeted at the door by the owner and sat right up front. We were immediately greeted by Angel and she took our drink order. I ordered a mimosa for $5, a friend ordered a non spicy bloody mary and the two others had soda or tea. The mimosa was the tiniest thing, not worth $5 at all. The bloody mary was definitely spicy. He was okay with it, but still. We then ordered food. Then we waited. And waited and waited. We watched two tables be seated next to us. They ordered food. They got their food. Then they left. We still had no food. Right as we were about to ask Angel what was going on, our food came out. One plate had completely burnt sausage on it. The whole thing was charred. Another plate was the French toast breakfast sandwich. It came out with no cheese. When we asked just for a slice of cheese, the cook made another whole plate (in two minutes I might add) for Angel to bring us. It was the wrong sandwich. We gave up hope at that point and just ate what we could, paid and left. I understand that they were busy, but to watch other tables be sat, get their food and leave before we even received our food was ridiculous. I heard this is the place to go in the Springs, but I doubt I will be back.

Yelp
The sign on the door says open until 3pm, I sat in the restaurant and waited to be waited on just yo be told that they actually close at 230, it would be nice if they changed their sign instead of wasting my time.

Da'John L.

Yelp
this establishment used to be great until they decided to charge a convivence fee for me not using a credit card to pay for me and my wife's meal. Server got pissed because I asked her what the extra fee was for and she told me to pay in cash next time also mentioned that there was an atm in the restaurant which was confirmed.my point is that why are they charging me extra fees for not using cash when they own their very own ATM that's gonna charge you for taking out cash? decently priced meals don't even exist in this city anymore and Green chili is not an excuse to completely ignore seasonings and spices!!!!!!!!!! whatever happened to creating the food with love there's no more passion in the food they serve i should have stop going when the bikers stopped going cause this place used to be jumping with customers

Butz S.

Yelp
The food is phenomenal here.. it's so phenomenal that there's always a huge crowd!!! The price is right for the huge serving size you get.. I can never finish mine and always have to take the rest home!!

Yelp
We were visiting Colorado for the first time and our friend recommended this restaurant. We were very pleased with our meal. My husband enjoyed his delicious Steak breakfast and his hash browns were cooked perfectly and the eggs were also very tasty. I had the pork chop breakfast and my pork chop was juicy and seasoned very well. My eggs and hash browns were also delicious. Our coffee was delicious as well. We liked the diner atmosphere and our waitress was very friendly and attentive to our requests. We will definitely be back when we visit again. I highly recommend coming to eat a wonderful breakfast when you're in town!

Yelp
Packed to the gills, usual weekend rush, yet seated and drink orders done promptly Excellent food, amazing service, and one more reason for me to come back over and over. Mimosas fantastic
