Came by here on a Yelp recommendation after a weekend of portaging in nearby Algonquin. Famished and dying for some A/C and cold beer, this place didn't disappoint.
It's a little outside the 'downtown' core but parking is plentiful out back and I enjoyed the winter signs warning of falling snow (it was early August when we visited).
The service was fast and friendly, and we ordered the family-sized fish 'n chips - hey, if you're in a place with Fish & Chips in its name, you probably should, you know.. order that. For about $30 it came with a heap of fries and 6 pieces of fish, with a smallish coleslaw side. Actually they gave us 7, not sure if that was by accident, or perhaps because the pieces were quite on the small side. Flavour-wise it was pretty good, and the price was very reasonable, though a little too much batter, and too little fish. Also tried their spicy spuds, which were little more than lightly spiced home-made potato chips, but again not bad.
If I could suggest any one thing, it would be to have bigger pieces of fish, even if it meant higher prices. Value was good, but the fishes were a tad small, is all.. Aside from that, everything was great and I'd come back again.
