Came to Weta Café for lunch as it was recommended by the locals. We ordered Eggs Benedict paired with pork belly and Chicken Pasta - both dishes were so tasty with top quality ingredients used. 😋 Oh my, it makes my mouth waters just thinking about it. The staff are friendly and are well loved by the locals. This place has really good vibes for all age groups, singles, couples or families. If I go back to Coromandel Town again I will revisit this café without hesitation. 👍

We've learned to ask locals for restaurant recommendations and Wētā Café was pure perfection! Divine dishes, delicious drinks (including the best mocha we've found in NZ so far!), incredible staff who showed endless care and kindness (especially Hera who is an absolute treasure for inviting my children to play a game and then gifting them a special treat for winning!), and fun assortment of outdoor games both adults and children can enjoy. The location next to a small park allows for children to play so parents can find a moment of peace and enjoy an uninterrupted conversation over a superb meal. Thank you for a truly unforgettable experience that touched our family's hearts and filled our tummies, Hera and Wētā Café!

Highly Recommended :) We (4) popped in for late brunch during April 2025. We all had the Turkish Prawns - absolutely delicious. And coffees, of course, well presented. This is a gem of a find. The service was prompt and good. There are small bids everywhere - add a charm to the atmosphere. There are some simple games in the park alongside, to add to the memory. Thank you :)

Called in this morning for late breakfast. I had Eggs Benedict with salmon and it was honestly the best I've ever had. Two beautifully poached eggs and a generous serving of salmon on a lightly toasted bread. Complimented by a half avocado for some freshness. Felt like a large breakfast without the weight in the stomach. My wife had the vegetarian option and was similarly impressed with what she was served. Coffee was good too! Definite would recommend and will return.

Lovely little cafe, cute and wholesome atmosphere with lots of birds around the area so lovely to listen to. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly. Had the heirloom tomatoes and it was so yummy! Person I was with had corn fritters and said they were very tasty also.

Great cafe, very friendly staff. Big servings so bring your appetite. Great coffee and extra.

Great food, great service, grumpy cat. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and takeaway sandwiches from Weta during our short stay in town. Everyone was cheerful except Helen Clark (the cat), which is understandable. Imagine if you just want to lie in the sun but everyone passing by insists on a pat 😊

Best veggie burger I’ve had from anywhere. Mum loved the Turkish prawns. Amazing flavour and a huge amount of prawns. This is a destination in itself worth the travel to Coromandel township.
