Weygoss is located a bit off Bole Road. Quiet, but very far from everything except the airport. The staff is very friendly, and that almost makes me feel bad when writing this - but what this hotel has to offer simply doesn't match the price you pay.||||The first room I got was unspeakably dirty. Thick layers of dust and dirt in the room, and simply grimy spots in the bathroom. The toilet didn't flush, a bottle was conveniently placed under a tap in the wall. One electric socket (of two) and the two bedside lamps didn't work. The bathroom window couldn't be closed (enter the mosquitoes). No tv. ||||I protested and got another room. This one had a tv, and it was clean (except for some hairs in the bathtub). Still, the furniture was primitive. The toilet leaked. One bedside light and the phone didn't work. Again the bathroom window fell open. Everything was and looked worn. ||||Breakfast is served in the reception area, where a few old tables are haphasardly thrown together and covered with plastic tablecloths. You have to order your breakfast the day before and specify the time. Of course, breakfast only arrived half an hour after I had specified, and I had to ask again for everything I ordered. In the evening I asked for a coke, and the girl at the reception told me there wasn't any left - while sipping from a coke. Presumably the very last one.||||For this, I paid 65 dollars per night. In Bahir Dar, my next stop, I also paid 65 dollars - for a beautiful room with brand new and stylish furniture, airco and a fridge, in a spotless hotel with a large staff, right in the city center. Upon my return in Addis, I paid 85 dollars for a glorious room in one of the city's best hotels, the Addis Regency. In short: somebody is making a lot of money on this place. Again, the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's not their fault, but it's still a rip-off.
