The museum is outstanding but the highlight was the whale-watching trip piloted by Captain Carrie! We ended having 14-15 fluke sightings which she told us was a personal record!

This was my first whale watching experience and it was amazing. Carrie was very knowledgeable and was wonderful, and the dogs were a added bonus. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

We couldn't do whale watching because we were traveling with a dog so instead we just looked around the museum. If you are kid free or have kids older than 8 then I don't recommend. It is a 10 minute experience and adult prices are $5 each.

My wife and I went whale watching on 8-20-25 and it was truly an awesome experience. We both enjoyed whale watching and will do it again if we ever get back to Depoe Bay , Oregon. It was well worth the money

I really wanted to like this place - there is so much potential in there, but the "museum" was really poor quality. It wasn't for lack of opportunity - there were some cool items, but things were dilapidated and printed on copy paper that wasn't even laminated - and there were not that many facts or things to learn. Tourist trap. That being said - admission is only $5.

Such a cute little museum! My daughters had fun learning and buying souvenirs in the gift shop. We also loved the whale watching tour!

Carrie loves to teach. She is so full of information of all kinds! Every minute spent with her is such an experience.

Yelp
They have wonderful trips. Very interactive. Very informative. If you're looking for a sea life tour, this is the one to take.

Yelp
Proper description. On the label, it says whale and shark museum but when you click on the icon on the map, it pops up as a whale watching tour, which is not a museum.

Yelp
This place is likely reviewed by most under Whale Research EcoExcursions, and this is one of the locations you can come to to purchase whale excursions. But this is really a separate experience. $5 gets you into this humble, somewhat aging museum. I'd really describe this as a personal collection more than a museum. Carrie is the curator and also the Marine Biologist that personally takes most of the tours out on the ocean. You can really tell that whales are the love of her life and it's endearing to read about all of the whales that she has "adopted" and pledged to care for and watch out for and learn about. We purchased one of her books here which is a collection of personal stories and information about whales, but also information about each of the individual whales that are found off of the coast. They all have names. And while we were on the coast, we got to do a little bit of whale watching, and it was neat to know that all of these whales have been identified and people were watching out for them. If whales are your thing, definitely come here. If you're wanting a really polished museum that has bells and whistles and is really clean, then don't come here.
