Western Australia for the Food Is the Next Great Food Lover's Destination

"A family-run whale-watch operator that takes guests to a spot called the Patch about 19 nautical miles offshore, where a resident population of coastal orcas surfaces daily between January and March. The guide, Gemma Sharp, narrates with a hushed, taut style, knows individuals by name (the pod is led by matriarch Queenie), and recalled dramatic encounters — including the time multiple orca families joined forces to kill a blue whale — warning that "Hunts are exciting," and adding later, "Every day is a bit of a storyline." - Kevin West Kevin West Kevin West is a writer, food consultant, and “canning evangelist” (according to NPR). He’s the author of the cookbook “Saving the Season,” and his work has appeared in Travel + Leisure, Martha Stewart Living, Condé Nast Traveler, Bon Appétit, and Food & Wine. We had a really good family experience with whale watching WA. It was very easy booking and well organised. The staff and crew were really friendly and professional. We all felt very safe. The vessel was amazing. Large boat with great inside facilities and seating and plenty of outdoor seats for the trip. And most importantly we saw so many whales! They seemed to love us and circle the boat over and over. They came very close and all round we thought the experience was well worth the money. We highly recommend the tour!

Google
The most amazing whale watching tour in WA!! A selection of whale tours, including humpbacks, orcas and blue whales, friendly service from the staff who make you feel at home and part of their "pod", and a beautiful, comfortable ride upon their two storey yacht! 100/10 ⭐️

Once in a lifetime experience! We saw so many breaches during our short time out at sea, it made the trip worth every cent we paid. The crew on board was also very experienced, being able to roughly point out before the whales breached and giving educational facts about the whales, identifying the males and females. So so fantastic!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this Whale Watch trip today. The crew on the boat were outstanding and the commentary by the marine biologist was very informative. Highly recommend this company Cheers Terri

What a fabulous morning out on the water! Not only did we get spoilt by a mama whale and her calf giving a playful display of tail splashing, breaching and general shenanigans but the crew of the whale watch vessel was so helpful and friendly, they gave the best service and made the morning even more so memorable. The vessel itself is modern, clean and very comfortable and spacious. The guide commentating on the whales was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt so much about the Humpbacks while watching them. Highly recommend to book with Whale Watch WA, if you would like to get up close to these gentle giants and get a deep insight in their behaviours and way of life. We had a fantastic time!

I absolutely loved my whale watching experience. The staff are very knowledgeable of the whales and being able to locate them. We saw lots of whale pods and even some dolphins which was a lovely surprise. Would recommend and I will probably come back at least once more to do this experience again!

What a stroke of luck—two humpback whales approached our boat! Throughout the trip, the staff shared fascinating insights about the whales, offering educational lessons on their behavior and migration patterns. Truly an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Excellent job! Will definitely doing this again!

This is an unsolicited review. My family had such a memorable experience watching the humpback whales on their Southern winter migration with Whale Watch Western Australia. Saw many whales, and was very impressed by the level of dedication and enthusiasm the crew gave us. The vessel was in great condition, plenty of books and toys to keep the kiddos occupied, and it was not crowded. Highly recommend!
