Whalebone Arch

Visited the Whale Bones site as it had been much-discussed by family who had been before (this was my first visit to Whitby). Now, sorry, I have to say - for me, personally, the whale bones were a tad underwhelming. However, I'm more a views and scenery person, and these more than made up for it. Stunning part of the world and well worth a climb up to take in the breathtaking coastal views.

Visited for the pirate weekend, it was great fun, Whitby is a beautiful place, we will definitely return. Great place for families to visit.

This was our photo stop before going to the Abbey. This is a popular tourist destination, busy at any time. The arch, the statue and the harbor views were remarkable.

Quite disappointed with it once we got to the top. I guess being surrounded by shops and loud music takes its charm away. Worth the climb if only for the view of the sea and the Whitby Abbey

Offers great views from the other side of town.

Always worth a visit to the Whalebone arch when in Whitby. Amazing views of the harbour, coastal walls, beach, Abbey and surrounding area. Easy to get to just a short walk away from the centre.
