Visited for the pirate weekend, it was great fun, Whitby is a beautiful place, we will definitely return. Great place for families to visit.

This was our photo stop before going to the Abbey. This is a popular tourist destination, busy at any time. The arch, the statue and the harbor views were remarkable.

Jaw bones of blue whale is an amazing stop in Whitby from where you can enjoy more than half of Whitby town views such as harbour, the 199 steps, ruins of the Abbey, beach light house etc. The real whale bone arch was erected in 1853 when this town was fishing whale. This whale jaw bones arch is replica of really one which Norway made it for Whitby 1963 and real ones in Whitby Archives & Heritage Centre. The last replica was donated by Alaska in 2003.

Quite disappointed with it once we got to the top. I guess being surrounded by shops and loud music takes its charm away. Worth the climb if only for the view of the sea and the Whitby Abbey

Always worth a visit to the Whalebone arch when in Whitby. Amazing views of the harbour, coastal walls, beach, Abbey and surrounding area. Easy to get to just a short walk away from the centre.

great place to view the whalebone and out to the seaview parking was possible but didn't take cash or card had to ring a number to register to park or you can download a app to pay your parking

This is a fantastic place to look over Whitby, the views are superb plus you have Captain Cook next to the bones.

Plenty of seating here to enjoy your fish and chips whilst taking in a view of the port and out into the sea.
