The 3 bedroom premium ground floor ocean view apartment was very comfortable, spacious & well equipped (except no cutting board). We enjoyed lovely ocean views & could spot the whales using our binoculars. It was great to be able to walk onto the grass from our apartment. The kangaroos on the lawn were a great addition. Easy 5 minute walk to the local cafes & Gorge walk (best viewing of whales).

Stayed with family for a winter break from Melbourne and we had a terrific time. Resort is well situated with a beautiful nature walk down to the beach that takes around 5 mins. We had a lovely meal at the surf club with best patio view in the world! Whales and dolphins easily visible from our table. So many kangaroos on the island and so close to us all the time - the kids loved it. A car is a must for the island and allowed us easy access to home and cylinders beach as well as day trips to brown lake and amity. We loved it and have booked again for next year

We are staying in one of the ocean view 3 bed apartments and it is amazing. So spacious and well laid out, clean and it has stunning views! We were able to check in early, they suggested lots of great places to eat and fun activities for the kids without me asking and the service has been incredible. Highly recommend!!

We had an unforgettable experience at Whale Watch Resort Stradbroke! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — friendly, helpful, and full of great local tips. Their warmth really added a personal touch to our stay. The highlight for us was the incredible wildlife right at our doorstep. We spotted whales from the balcony, saw kangaroos nearby, and enjoyed birdsong every morning. It felt like being immersed in nature while still having all the comforts of a cozy, well-kept resort. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and be looked after by genuinely lovely people. Can’t wait to return!

Another fabulous break at Straddie. Whalewatch Towers is perfect! The view down Main Beach and the whale highway is exceptional. So much wildlife to view! And the advantage of doing it from indoors for when the wind is high and the temperature drops. The well appointed kitchen is also a bonus! Thank you for a fabulous get away.

Incredible stay at the heart of winter in a coastal paradise. Every day we saw whales, mantarays, dolphins and turtles. The sea life is incredible. All of our kids caught fish as well. The apartments are terrific, simple games room and lovely pool and spa

Whale Watchers was excellent. We had a garden view 3 bedroom apartment that was more than big enough for 6 adults. The new managers were very helpful and accomodating. They also have some cabanas and beach gear for rent if needed. A great family holiday. We will be back!

Our stay at Whale Watch Resort on Stradbroke Island was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the friendly staff who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The location is unbeatable – perched perfectly to offer breathtaking ocean views, especially during whale season. We spent hours on the balcony, mesmerized by whales breaching just offshore. It’s a front-row seat to nature’s magic. The heated pools were a luxurious treat, perfect for both relaxing swims in the early morning and winding down after a day of exploring. They’re beautifully maintained and ideal for all ages. Nature lovers will be in their element here. The abundance of wildlife – from kangaroos hopping nearby to colorful birds and, of course, the whales – made every day feel like a nature documentary. The resort’s location also makes it incredibly convenient. You’re just a short walk from stunning beaches, local cafes, and scenic walking trails, yet the peaceful atmosphere makes it feel like a secluded retreat. If you’re looking for a tranquil escape surrounded by natural beauty, with modern comforts and genuinely kind hospitality, Whale Watch Resort is the place to be. We can’t wait to return!

Yelp
We were impressed by the nice big room to start with in a good location close to the beach. The first night was great, air conditioned room with self contained kitchen 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Then night 2 happened with the family from hell staying above us. We were on the middle floor. They had 3 kids that sounded like 10 kids due to the acoustics in this place. Every move they made, we heard. Woken up in the morning at 6am sharp every morning with the sound of a marble dropping on the tile floor above my head. Day 3 the father decided to spend the day drinking alone and we all got to listen to his music choices all day (lucky us). Went to reception to complain, reception closed for the weekend... the whole weekend... this family moved out Monday, but not before spending 4 hours in the pool outside our window with their kids screaming out of control the whole time. Then the next family moved in, not as bad but still heard every move they made through the paper this ceiling. Went to complain to management on departure... guess what.. office closed... I would never stay here if you enjoy sleeping. We won't be back to whale watch. There were several other disturbances, neighbour arguments etc, but what the point complaining. No one listens anyway, and they never there to complain to in the first place.
