Whalewatch Ocean Beach Resort

All I can say about this place is that it’s a great place to holiday. So close to the beach, shopping and nature. Kangaroos come up onto the lawns and seem happy enough around us and the beach is just a short walk. The apartments are spacious with everything you need in every room. We found the apartment to be 5 star clean and we loved that the Resort offered hire of various items like sun gazebo, chairs, boogie boards and heaps more, for a very reasonable price. There’s a heated pool, a games room (fun) and BBQ area for guests to make the most of. We found the staff to be most accommodating, friendly and very kind people. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Whalewatch Ocean Resort when staying at north Staddie. You won’t regret it.

Unit 27 whalewatch ocean beach resort is a fabulous location for a getaway on straddy. Walking distance via lily walk to main beach and a multitude of other great nature walks close by. Ocean views from the verandah are incredible and the resort facilities include a great pool, spa and BBQ area as well as access to the common grassed area where kangaroos regularly graze and curlews wander freely. Such a great nature experience with the comfort of a large 3 bedroom 2 bathroom well-equipped unit with excellent managers on site -all make for a perfect getaway on idyllic North Stradbroke Island.

‘Straddie’ what a gem! And so is Whalewatch Ocean Beach Resort! Amazing view, peaceful and welcoming! The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped! From the balcony stunning view on the ocean and the garden with Walliby’s! Last but not least Therese is very nice and a wonderful host!

Fabulous stay, great unit and brilliant staff We had a fabulous time at Whalewatch! My wife and I are regulars at Whalewatch and on our latest visit we wrere very impressed with the new management Therese and Garry. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure we had a relaxed and comfortable stay. The grounds and gardens were in great shape and the facilities such as the Gym and Pool area were spotless. Along with the staff at reception they were always welcoming. Hands down the best family holiday we've had. Spacious apartment for 3 kids in a perfect location, just a few minutes walk from shops, the playground and the Gorge Walk and an easy drive to the most pristine beaches you'll ever see. Heated pool with bbq area, awesome games room with pool table, table tennis and heaps of games. Managers were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Beautiful lawn area with spectacular views. Would not hesitate to recommend Whalewatch Resort and we cannot wait to return.

Wow, wow wow, incredible location, wonderful apartment, spectacular views, beautiful wildlife, an idyllic experience all round. Jacqui and Therese, the owners, are generous, kind and friendly ladies during my stay, making it even more amazing. I cannot recommend Whalewatch Ocean Beach Resort enough. It really is a must and is now becoming an annual holiday destination for me and the family. Book asap, gift yourself, you'll be so happy that you did.

We had an amazing stay at Whale Watchers Resort in a Premium Ocean Front room. The location is perfect! At one point, we could even hear whales right from our balcony, which was incredible. We were lucky enough to see so many beautiful whales breaching and playing in the ocean during our stay. The service was wonderful, and the pre-ordered cheese platter was such a lovely touch. The room was super comfortable, and both the bedroom and lounge TVs had all the apps you could want and were high quality, great for relaxing in the evenings. Honestly, it was a 10/10 experience. We couldn’t recommend it more for anyone wanting a special, whale-filled getaway.

The 3 bedroom premium ground floor ocean view apartment was very comfortable, spacious & well equipped (except no cutting board). We enjoyed lovely ocean views & could spot the whales using our binoculars. It was great to be able to walk onto the grass from our apartment. The kangaroos on the lawn were a great addition. Easy 5 minute walk to the local cafes & Gorge walk (best viewing of whales).

We were impressed by the nice big room to start with in a good location close to the beach. The first night was great, air conditioned room with self contained kitchen 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Then night 2 happened with the family from hell staying above us. We were on the middle floor. They had 3 kids that sounded like 10 kids due to the acoustics in this place. Every move they made, we heard. Woken up in the morning at 6am sharp every morning with the sound of a marble dropping on the tile floor above my head. Day 3 the father decided to spend the day drinking alone and we all got to listen to his music choices all day (lucky us). Went to reception to complain, reception closed for the weekend... the whole weekend... this family moved out Monday, but not before spending 4 hours in the pool outside our window with their kids screaming out of control the whole time. Then the next family moved in, not as bad but still heard every move they made through the paper this ceiling. Went to complain to management on departure... guess what.. office closed... I would never stay here if you enjoy sleeping. We won't be back to whale watch. There were several other disturbances, neighbour arguments etc, but what the point complaining. No one listens anyway, and they never there to complain to in the first place.
