Whangarei Falls Holiday Park and YHA

A pretty run down, but spacious and friendly holiday park conveniently located just next to the falls (so you can have them for yourself in the morning!). There was literally almost no-one in the peak (New Year) season which was strange, but I appreciated the peace and quiet. The people who run it are very nice. Kitchen is well equipped and you get 100 GB of internet. As many hot showers as you want, and the bathrooms are kept very clean. 30 dollars for one person in a tent (no vehicle) seemed a lot though.

Very nice place to stay, has everything you need, big kitchen for cooking with oven, microwave and all the other bits and bobs you might need. Toilets and shower are kept clean and well maintained. Right next to a waterfall which is cool. Staff are so friendly and accommodating which made the experience staying here even better. Recommend staying here 100%

The place is pretty dated but the amenities are good and it's clean. The lounge needs new furniture. Overall I would highly recommend it if you want cheap family accommodation. The pools great for the kids. Everyone was friendly and there were no problems while we were there apart from the spa pool being out of order and they had trouble getting it fixed over the Xmas period. The owner Martin is really on to it and takes very good care of the place.

Hospitality was excellent. Well priced. It won't be for everyone (we didn't use facilities but looked old and run down) and the road noise was loud. But again, the manager and his partner was so incredibly lovely.

Really nice and cheap place to stay. Rooms were very clean and tidy and were given heaters since it was winter. Facilities were great also with all the majors you needed and toilets clean. Showers were hot. Would have been great if the kitchenettes in the cabins had a sink but you got a microwave, toaster, jug and fridge. Would go back.

Great place to stay! We ended up staying for a few weeks. Tidy, well appointed cabins. The grounds are kept beautifully for tents and campervans. The pool, spa, showering and bathroom facilities are kept lovely and clean. Has a nice large kitchen for cooking meals, and seating around the park for outside dining. Very friendly and approachable staff.

Really nice. All the facilities in good shape, I really loved the small kitchen in every room. They have a common room with tv and PCs and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was kinda annoying, you had to go and get a new voucher every time and it would sometimes stop working. The surroundings are really nice, the waterfall is only three minutes away and if you want to do some hikes they will give you a map ans explain the main ones to you right when you check in! If you don't have a car it's a little effort to go grocery shopping though, because the countdown is about twenty minutes away. Other than that I've had a really good stay there!

Very noisy with people making noise till 11.30 pm then loud music at 5.30am. Dogs constantly barking. Showers are clean but the water runs away from drain and into other showers. Wouldn't return again at $50 night for caravan site which was over grown and very tight.
