The atmosphere... PERFECT! Its always quiet in here, very colorful, kid friendly, great prices, great food! Me and my immediate family always come here for lunch or dinner once or twice every week! I definitely recommend! The staff is WONDERFUL they are super kind! You never have to worry about rude staff, weather the food is good or not, nothing! I definitely recommend, this will be one of the best areas to eat a quick snack or meal at!

There is a slight outdoor. So sad we can sit on their swing chairs and check out the amazing interior. It’s pretty small inside with the social distancing and I advise you form a line outside. They can probably only service one customer at a time anyway. I love the interior. The art and wood detail make this place feels clean and warm. With a selection of 16 or so ice cream, it’s a hard decision to make. I would go back to try a few more time. Two scoops for $6 makes this a deal. We end up going for a walk and house watch a few blocks over in Kensington. I think they serve Bah mi and from the look of it, it looks delicious and legit. Definitely will come back for that one day. Stay safe and social distance.

I stopped by today for a couple of scoops of ice cream. This place has a pretty good selection and is reasonably priced for the amount you get per scoop. The ice cream is very tasty and creamy. The staff is also fast and helpful. There is a seating area indoors and some tables/chairs outside. I will definitely stop by again the next time I need an ice cream fix.

Ordered through seamless and once my order arrived and placed on our counter my son went to open the bag to proceed to take everything out low and behold it was a bag full of liquid and a sandwich soaked in milk tea. Completely disappointed. When I called they blamed the driver for the condition the cups were in. Both were damaged at the bottom and this was the end result. Strongly advise the team at the restaurant to check their packaging moving forward.

Google
(Original review 4 stars) I did enjoy coming here with they're fair variety of things on the menu. The only thing I don't like is that when it says they open a certain time. It's always an hour or two later which I do not like. There has been many times where I've been disappointed with their opening time. Recently the quality of their riceballs has become very sad and unappetizing. Honestly they use to make really good rice balls but now I'm not sure who's making these rice balls now. They are now more like rice cylinders than rice balls. And this has been an on going thing for a few weeks now. It's really upsetting to see how the quality went down over these few weeks. Also the tempura shrimp batter is a really thick. It use to be thin and crunchy but now it's really thick like if it was take out.

Google
A nice spot right around the corner from me. The decor is beautiful! The ice cream was also reasonably priced and was good!

Google
Banh mi was good, could have used more daikon and cilantro but was otherwise flavourful and the bread had a good crust to it. Milkshake was enjoyable (which it be should for $9)

Google
Real good ice cream. Limited flavors but real good. Has some cool seating as well.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this space. It's very cute - they have a little space for children to play in. And the table/chairs are cute but also appropriate for the space. I tried the ice cream, onigiri, and tea. The passion fruit tea is really good and they give a lot of ice cream lol. I bought the onigiri 2 days in a row. My friends and sister really enjoyed the chicken katsu, I liked the shrimp tempura. The folks there are really nice and work quickly to get you your food.

Yelp
Had a scoop of blueberry cheescake ice cream and it was so delicious! It tastes very similar to trader joe's wildberry cheesecake ice cream.

Yelp
This place is so cute. It is a combination of things. An ice cream shop, a bubble tea place and a small snack place. The ice cream otions they have are interesting, you can get something simple like vanilla or chocolate or go for their apple pie flavor. They even have vegan ice cream flavors. They have simple bubble tea flavors but they also make their own twists to it. The snack options they have range from a variety of onigiris to kimchi fries. The staff is also very friendly and let you take your time to decide. The have a cute seating area in the front as well as outdoor seating.

Yelp
Review by Jack, age 9: Super Duper good they're nice and they have the best rice balls, and Boba

Yelp
Came here for dessert. Wanted a root beer float but they ran out of root beer so they recommend coke float. I was like ok. It is ok. The place is small but there are cool swing seat in the front but it is nail down I guess because people have been swinging on them. Would go back to try other foods. B

Yelp
The place is so cute inside. They have these swings that you can sit and hang out. I was surprised that they serve food. I didn't have any but it did look and smell good so ‍ . I did get one scoop of cotton candy ice cream and it was actually really good. Oh almost forgot .. they have vegan options!!

Yelp
I must say - because the awning said "vegan" made this a "let's try it" I am a glutton for tried and true. I do not deviate from Strawberry very often. Ice cream delish... tasted of real strawberries and not loaded with sweet. My son enjoyed his tried and true chocolate immensely as well. We also tried then chicken katsu onigiri (sp?). Not a fan, but my son enjoyed it. Nice nook in the neighborhood.

Yelp
While walking up this part of Cortelyou Road for the first time, this business quickly caught my attention. Could it be? A cool, fun, hip Asian American ice cream spot that offers onigiri AND banh mi? We were mindlessly checking out the neighborhood and stumbling across this eatery pretty much had us sold. I even *outdoor dined* here for the very first time since the pandemic hit. We didn't get to try the ice cream this time around, but we did get a chicken katsu onigiri ($3) and classic bbq pork banh mi ($7.50). We ordered at the counter and ate on one of the small tables outside - very casual. Onigiri and banh mi are the perfect on-the-go snacks/meals so I think this is one of the greatest combinations ever. The chicken katsu onigiri tasted a little bland, but extremely fresh. We had it right when it came out, and the rice was so warm and soft. It would've been a bit better with some spicy mayo, but next time I'd go for the poke salmon or even tuna instead. (We were so excited that we didn't really finish reading the menu before ordering) The banh mi was yummy and solid overall. I think the meat to pickled daikon ratio was a little off, but it's all good to me since I love me my pickled daikon. A little more than usual doesn't hurt. I noticed they also offer lots of fun teas and drinks including seasonal ones like chai apple cider and the essential Viet coffee. Seems like a great neighborhood one-stop shop for me. I hope to be back soon!

Yelp
Ice cream, onigiri, and banh mi on one menu is the stuff dreams are made of, particularly in this whimsical space filled with swings and a wall covered in brightly covered cartoon characters. Said swing seats are unfortunately off limits right now due to the ongoing pandemic but stepping inside to admire the comic strip art and colorful ice cream mosaics is a fun time in and of itself. Their ice cream menu features dairy or vegan scoops, with mostly classic flavors like cookies and cream and vanilla. More interesting flavors include matcha and peanut butter confetti, but there's nothing that the average New York palate will find too exotic. I was hoping for more asian inspired flavors since they have banh mi and onigiri on the menu, but the banana cream pie scoop I had a delicious blend of flavor and textures and was a solid ice cream cone all around. The ice cream isn't quite as good as say, Blue Marble or Van Leeuwen, but I also wasn't mad at paying just $4.50 for 1 scoop.

Yelp
Came in for a scoop of Ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. Some of the creamiest peanut butter I've ever had in my life with chunks of peanut butter cups. Loved it.
google avatar

Lorianne W.

Yelp
Ehhh. Found the workers rude and dismissive. They didn't allow for me to mix scoops. A bit pricier than most "fancy" ice cream shops. The person scooping was rude. I won't be back.

Yelp
My friend and I came to What's The Scooooop on a Sunday around 7:30pm. We noticed that it was a new ice cream shop in the area, and we were excited to try it out! The interior has a unique design with chair "swings" and a children's play area in the back. They also serve snacks like banh mi and onigiri, but this review is just for the ice cream. Yelpers, if you check-in, you can get a free drizzle. I got a single scoop of the Brooklyn Black and White Cookie in a cone with a chocolate drizzle ($4.50). The ice cream was fine, but just not worth the price tag. First off, the ice cream was on the harder side, like it had been sitting in the freezer for a long time. I prefer a creamy consistency. Next, the Brooklyn Black and White Cookie was one of the more inventive flavors on the menu, but tasted like a less flavorful cookies and cream. My biggest problem with the shop was with the presentation of the cone. The drizzle was put on in a sloppy way so it dripped onto the side of the cone instantly. Then, most other places I've been are able to fill a cone to the bottom, but they took the order of "single scoop" literally, so the bottom of the cone was empty. Again, the ice cream was okay, but just not to my personal preferences.

Yelp
What a nice addition to the neighborhood. They have so many cool flavors as well as the basic ones. They also have specialty milkshakes as well as classics. I'm more of a classic girl so I had a vanilla milkshake with fruity pebbles on top. Super delicious, nice and thick which is the way a milkshake should be! Also, the space is super cool. The art and the spacing of everything. I feel like I'm Super Mario 3 world and the swinging chairs are a plus. I can't wait to experience the inside once the pandemic is over.

Yelp
I live in the area and enjoy stopping here for a quick snack during my weekend strolls. They offer a variety of items and I especially enjoy their ice cream which is always very creamy and delicious. Their food offerings are solid, in particular their rice balls are pretty good with a nice variety of fillings. I also tried the lemon grass chicken rice bowl which was good, nicely flavored chicken and good portion size. Their drinks are also quite good especially their hot seasonal drinks. Service is very friendly and definitely worth supporting this small local business.

Yelp
Checked out What's the Scooooop over the weekend. (There's always an excuse to indulge in ice cream!) I had a scoop of the Brooklyn black and white cookie and a scoop of the matcha ice cream with dark chocolate hazelnut granola on top. It was $6 for two scoops and toppings were $0.50 each, so this place is a bit more expensive than your average ice cream shop. The Brooklyn black and white cookie flavor was a bit richer than your regular cookies and cream flavor, but I couldn't really tell the difference. I still enjoyed it though! To my pleasant surprise, the matcha ice cream had a true matcha flavor, which matcha fans would be pleased to know. Probably wouldn't get the hazelnut granola again as I found it to be dry. They also serve milkshakes and hot food (banh mi, hot dogs). Plenty of seating available inside.

Yelp
Only two flavors for a Sundae. Ice cream is super hard. No balance of proportions. Too much brownie and not enough ice cream. Not a lot of variety for an ice cream shop. Like 16 flavors. I got a basic flavor: cookies n cream but it didn't taste like it. Peach cobbler ice cream for second option: started out tasting nice and then it made me nauseous. Almost $10 for the Sundae- no presentation since it's in a disposable bowl. Looks like it maybe eco friendly but you probably won't bring a date here for one of those cute Ice cream dates that you always see in the movies. They have a child play area in the back. Establishment is super clean. Male cashier is super nice- might be the owner I think. The swing seating in the front doesn't actually swing.

Yelp
Very yummy ice cream! This place is going to be packed during the summers, I can taste it! Get it while you don't have to wait in line. It's great for a snack as well, they have some Asian foods! I still need to try that out. If it's as good as their ice cream then I'm going to be so happy and a repeat customer for life! They have vegan ice cream as well!

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and saw this cool ice cream shop. They have very cute swing seats in the front. I got the one scoop cookies and cream with whipped cream, pretzels, and chocolate sprinkles. It was so good I will definitely come back again. The workers were also really sweet and helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
Their vegan peach cobbler is really good. I was surprised because some vegan ice creams taste a bit odd. My mother had cinnamon dark chocolate. She enjoyed it quite a bit. Beware the cones aren't vegan!

Yelp
What's the scooooop has great food and ice cream. This is usually where my family stops when we're in the neighborhood. The rice balls are amazing, and the Ban Mi is alright. The ice cream comes from blue marble and it is amazing! The only problem is, it some times takes them a long time to make your food. I do highly recommend however!

Jon L.

Yelp
Bubble Tea - I don't think they use real Tapioca. They're more like sugary gelatin blobs, which are not spherical. Veggie Bahn mi - Also not great. Bread is pretty dry, and it's mostly lettuce.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
I am now asking why the best banh mi I've had in NYC was from an ice cream shop!? Very fresh, great bread, so delicious. Also, the ice cream was to die for. I got the vegan french vanilla w/ sea salt caramel + captain crunch as toppings. Highly recommend this combo!!! What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Great vibes inside as well. Love.

Yelp
This place is a great addition to the neighborhood. I love that they have vegan options. The seating and decor is so cool. Great place to my sweet tooth. The prices are just right too. Tried dairy and vegan ice cream. Love bread and roses.
google avatar

Lexi A.

Yelp
Update: still love these guys and still gonna give them 5 stars for existing, BUT they need to try again with the bubble tea menu. 1) Classic milk tea does not taste right, flavor is off. 2) They need a decaf option for the fruit teas. Kids love bubble tea but kids can't have caffeine. 3) What's the scoooooop with that boba? Disgusting texture. Worst tapioca boba I've ever had. 4) The lids don't seal right. I'm hoping they'll get a consultation and start from scratch!

Marsha D.

Yelp
Went to what's the scoop yesterday on recommendation. They were out of many flavors - very disappointed! I enjoyed what I ordered but had very little choice!
google avatar

Cathia L.

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood ice cream shop, but they offer more than just ice cream. My girls and I stopped in after having a light dinner near by and honestly I would have preferred grabbing a bite to eat here along with my ice cream instead on where we ended up eating but that's besides the point. They have vegan options which is cool but I had the banana pudding flavored ice cream and it was the highlight of my evening. If I'm ever in the area I'll make sure to get a scoop and all try their rice balls.
google avatar

PeteTanut P.

Yelp
Nice and cozy place so happy in here Ice cream is awesome And Banh mi Beef Bulgogi The Best and also Rich Ball delicious

Michelle M.

Yelp
The ice cream is super high quality. They even have a few vegan flavors. I tried the vegan peach cobbler and my son got the vegan chocolate by mistake and they were both amazing. I got the crinkle cut air fries. They were good. I'm happy that there's a good ice cream place on Courtelyou. The staff is sweet and friendly too. They have 2 2-seater tables out front during covid.
google avatar

Rubina Y.

Yelp
We were enjoying the Banhmi sandwiches and rice balls this summer for lunch. Now that my daughter has lunch at 11am or 12pm, we haven't been able to do that because the restaurant doesn't open until 1 pm. They really should open at 12pm for lunch.
google avatar

Will A.

Yelp
I come for the milkshakes. Stay for artwork. Listen to the vibes. Had the opportunity to try one of their new additions to the menu, "Lets Chocobout It", a delicious combination of all my favorites shaken and stirred into one mobile treat!
google avatar

Scary T.

Yelp
Great spot to get icecream. Different flavors, many to choose from, milkshake (create your own). Only down side is never any brownies for sundae
google avatar

Diana P.

Yelp
Love that we have this spot in Ditmas. Nigiri, banh mi, fries AND ice cream. Highly recommend if you are looking for a yummy snack.
google avatar

Susan V.

Yelp
For one of those independently owned ice cream shops, I expected more interesting flavors. Interior was cute though and the staff was friendly and helpful but I felt the ice cream was overpriced. One very dinky scoop of ice cream on a cone was 4.50, in a lot of ice cream parlors I've been to even if you get one scoop, the employee digs in and gives you a meaty scoop of ice cream.
google avatar

William K.

Yelp
Delicious lemon grass banh mi. Thinking to get another one even. Raspberry choco chip hits the spot after. Highly recommend for a tasty snack.
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Get the onigiri rice balls (ANY flavor) and put soy sauce in that b*tch. It is FREAKING AMAZING. Beat snack or even dinner ever. Beats sushi in my opinion
google avatar

Sol C.

Yelp
they have many options to eat. the place gives good vibes and the service is very good. i like that there is many vegan options which is pretty rare for an ice cream place.
google avatar

Stephen C.

Yelp
It's like God answered my prayers and put an ice cream parlor in my neighborhood. Dreams really do come true. So been here a couple of times. Fell in love with the Brooklyn black and white cookie ice cream they have although I haven't seen it as a selection in a couple of weeks hoping it will make a comeback. I quest due to Covid there not doing there sundaes either maybe they should take the stuff there not offering off the my till they are offering it again. Banana Cream Pie is my second favorite flavor. Also, I see a lot of vegan options which is nice for people who need that type of thing I guess. Would have given 5 stars but picked two things off a chalkboard menu and was told we are not offering that right now.

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
They have nice shrimp tempura and good fries. The fries aren't too crisp and aren't too soft. Would come again.

lauren b.

Yelp
Adorable place! I'll be honest, I haven't had the ice cream yet, but I came in because the sign outside said they had onigiri, Japanese rice balls with different filling and wrapped in seaweed. My favorite snack!! Each Onigiri is made to order and was delicious, I can't wait to try the rest of what they have to order

Ann M.

Yelp
Love their Banh Mis, my kid loves their ice cream, plus the space is cute and has a clean play area. Lovely addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
great place. the caramel ice cream with fudge and caramel drizzle was delicious and more decadent than anything else this neighborhood has. the shrimp tempura onigiri the shrimp was huge and delicious. 5 stars would come back here again.
