Wheatlands Lodge

We had the most amazing 2 night stay at Wheatlands Lodge. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely owners, Lynn and Mike, who have created a truly special place in the heart of the Lake District. Our room had a beautiful garden view and was so peaceful, the perfect spot to relax with a cuppa! The bed was so comfy we didn’t want to leave it, and everything was spotless and stylish. You can really tell how much care and attention goes into everything they do. The location is brilliant, just a short walk into Windermere village and close to everything you’d want to see and do in the Lakes. The breakfast was top quality, with fresh, local ingredients and plenty of delicious options. Lynn and Mike are such kind and thoughtful hosts. This is a truly lovely home and a place we’ll definitely come back to.

Just did a weekend walking trip in the Lake District with girlfriends and stayed at the Wheatlands Lodge in Windermere. What a lovely Guesthouse! Great location, house and room. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom with nice pressure in the shower. a delicious breakfast with lots of choice. The owners Mike and Lynn were gracious hosts. Their advice on walks were spot on. Highly recommend this boutique guesthouse. It is a step above in terms of quality and the the kindness of the hosts. Fantastic place and people.

Exceptional Stay at Wheatlands Lodge – A True Gem in Windermere Our recent stay at Wheatlands Lodge was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mike and Lynn, who are not just wonderful hosts but truly care about creating a memorable experience for their guests. The lodge is beautifully decorated—elegant, modern, and refreshingly crisp, yet still homely and relaxing. We stayed in Room No. 8, which was spacious, spotlessly clean, and featured a large, elegant bathroom that added to the comfort. The location is excellent—just a short stroll into Windermere village and conveniently located near the “Library” bus stop, which made getting around the Lake District incredibly easy. The well-kept garden with its lush green lawn and colorful flowers provided a lovely setting to unwind. It’s clear how much care and attention goes into every corner of this property. Each morning started with a freshly prepared breakfast, featuring fresh juice, seasonal fruits, and delicious hot options—everything was made with great attention to quality and taste. Wheatlands Lodge offers a perfect balance of style, comfort, and warm hospitality. We couldn’t recommend it more highly and would gladly return!

Lovely rooms and the most comfortable bed of our entire trip. Mike and Lynn are great hosts and they go the extra mile to please with beautiful breakfasts. The location can’t be beaten to tour the Windermere area and on site parking is an added benefit allowing you to walk to any number of excellent dining options.

As it was our wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves to a little luxury in Room 8 on the 2nd floor, so expected a spacious and beautiful room. We were not disappointed. The decor and furnishings were spectacular. It is light, with plenty of space to move around and store luggage. The enormous bed was very comfortable, with quality bedlinen. The en-suite bathroom is simply luxurious. Everything was spotlessly clean. |The cooked breakfast was good; however I would have appreciated some cold "continental" options and having to pre-book a timed slot within one hour was a little restrictive, but we worked round it.|Hosts Mike and Lynn are friendly and personable without being intrusive.|We would certainly stay there again.

I had the most fantastic stay at the Wheatland lodge! The service was amazing from start to finish. Lynn and Mike made the best host and couldn’t do enough for us. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Breakfast was fantastic and prompt, happy to cater to my dietary needs. I’d recommend to anyone looking to have a weekend away in the lake district. I will be certainly booking again :)

We stayed here recently for 3 nights in room 8. Everything about this place is absolutely fabulous! We have stayed in various places in Windermere and this is by far the best. The room was superb, extremely comfortable, beautiful bathroom with high spec toiletries, the attention to detail was incredible. The breakfast setting and quality of food was outstanding and the hosts Mike and Lynn were lovely, their wealth of local knowledge was an added extra. I would definitely recommend this guest house, probably one of the best we have stayed in ever, a hidden gem. We will be back for sure! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful stay at The Wheatlands Lodge, could not recommend more. The location is perfect so close to Windermere centre but also tucked away just enough to feel private and peaceful!
