Wheatlands Lodge

My partner and I stayed at the Wheatlands Lodge in August 2024 on our trip to Windermere and we had the most fabulous time. Our room was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and overlooked the beautiful garden. Mike and Lynn were very attentive and breakfast was fantastic each morning. Thank you for a great stay!

We loved our stay at Wheatlands Lodge! Mike and Lynn are excellent hosts and very accommodating. Their dog Alfie is also incredibly sweet and friendly. We stayed for 2 nights, and the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The garden is immaculate and such a nice, peaceful spot to relax after a long day of hiking. The breakfasts also live up to the hype - absolutely delicious! Would definitely love to stay again and 100% recommend.

Our stay at Wheatlands Lodge was fabulous. Lynn and Mike were incredibly attentive and responsive to all our needs, making our stay comfortable and stress-free. Every interaction with them was met with a smile and genuine friendliness, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They maintained impeccable cleanliness standards throughout my stay. My room (Room 8) was spotless, and the common and outdoor areas were extremely well-kept. Breakfast was of an exceptionally high standard, with a great choice. A beautiful and calming lodge that offered the perfect escape. The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel so welcome and cared for. Its location was ideal—close to everything we needed while still providing a peaceful retreat. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it!

We just spent 2 lovely nights at the Wheatlands Lodge for our 10th Wedding Anniversary Lynn and Mike were wonderful hosts and the breakfast each morning was superb, I struggle to eat in the morning but managed the full English both mornings as it was so nice. The rooms are lovely and spacious and cleaned to a first class rate. We can most definitely recommend and say we will be returning.

Just spent two nights at this gorgeous place. Communication from Mike & Lynn was excellent throughout from booking to departing.||The hotel is super close to the amenities of Windermere, yet lovely and quiet. Our room (room 8) was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and well equipped. Having a Nespresso machine rather than just instant coffee was a very welcome touch, as was the Bath House toiletries. ||Although I’d hope we aren’t particularly demanding guests, Mike & Lynn were extremely accommodating of a couple of small requests we had. They were always friendly and warm whenever we saw them and yet they were never intrusive. ||The breakfast choice was great and the quality of the food was absolutely outstanding. ||Thanks Mike & Lynn for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay at Wheatlands lodge. This was our third visit and as always we had a really nice stay. The breakfast was delicious and room was great! We love the location, so close to shops and restaurants and not too far away from the lake. We hope to return again soon!

The rooms, along with the rest of the guest house, are maintained to a very high standard, with lots of little touches here and there making it feel very homely You have to request a breakfast time, but this is cooked fresh for you and is the best hotel breakfast I've had in a long time. Lovely garden which guests can use Free car park for guest to use. It's located close to the centre, there's a bus stop just around the corner a few minutes walk away, the main bus and train station can be walked to (10 minutes) or you can get there with a very short bus ride. I understand the current owners have run this establishment for about four years so I would discount any of the reviews that are more than four years old on some of the previous reviews. Overall, we have a very good experience here.
