The absolute worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Sunny side up eggs were crispy on the bottom and yolks partially solid. Hashbrowns tasted freezer burned and were either soggy or so hard they couldn’t be chewed. Sausage links couldn’t be cut with a fork, didn’t even bother to taste them as they appeared to be completely dried out. Toast was the only thing on the plate I took more than one bite of. Luckily I ordered a half order of B&G that was edible but not great. Service was ok. Cool decor. Still will not be back

I absolutely love the Whistle Stop! Taco night is my favorite, and they have a very neat train that goes around on very neat track right above your head. And did you know that train track was made by the owner himself Steve. Steve and Dixe are very very nice people that have big hearts I really enjoy spending time and talking to them.

Have had the oppotunity to eat here many times and do so. The food is good. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Kids love the train up by the ceiling. Will definitely be back.

Very good traditional Cafe. Nice employees and owners. Salad bar was great! Good choices on buffet. Great prices! Railroad decor is perfect.

Eggs were perfect Sunny side up. Fresh hash browns. Sausage patties were spices, very good. Coffee was excellent and great service!

Stop in for a quick lunch on Sunday after Flint Hills trail ride. Good friendly service. Food came hot. Nice clean restaurant with railroad theme.

Subpar at best. Prices just a bit higher than need be. I like the liver and onions. Haven't been to the buffet in a while. But not much selection and their operating hours are odd.

Love this place! It's the "Cheers Bar" of Osawatemie. Owners Steve and Dixie bend over backwards to do what they can for people. I have seen Steve in the parking lot working on customer's cars! Food is diner food; wholesome and humble. They have the best pancakes I've ever had! Prices are as reasonable as they can keep them in a small town in this economy. Highly recommend getting to know the restaurant and owners. Good eats! Good people!

Excellent breakfast options. Small town warmth and welcoming environment. Great for family breakfast on the weekends. The overhead trains are entertaining and funny. This is worth the stop!!!

Honestly this is probably the worst restaurant in Kansas. The food on the buffet is inedible, greasy, old and somehow bland. The service is slow even if the place is nearly empty. On my first try of this place I waited over an hour and never got my order. had to leave without lunch as I had ran out of time. The second time I dared to try the buffet only to find the greasy unrecognizable slop on the buffet. Well at least I paid $16 for it and an ice tea which was never refilled. Honestly these people should just give it up.

Tried the breakfast buffet and was very happy with the offering. Great Biscuits and Gravy and service was nice.

We were referred here from the John Brown museum and were pleasantly surprised to see a fried chicken buffet. There wasn't a huge selection but it was very tasty. Multiple pieces of chicken, plus some hot wings, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, brussell spouts and cherry cobbler sent me away quite full. The only negative was that the ice cream from the machine tasted sour but I'm sure that was easily fixed. I'd feel quite comfortable going back again the next time we are in town.

Met girlfriends for Taco Wednesday - $1 tacos and beer. The beer was cold, the tacos were fair, the service was friendly. However, receiving a public 10-minute rant from the owner when paying with my debit card was something I could have definitely done without. Don't offer this payment option if it is going to cause an emotional breakdown. She is the reason I will NOT be back. TIP: It's all about customer service, especially in a small town.

Typical small town restaurant. We had the Sunday morning Buffett. I don't recommend it. The choices were slim. The items on the Buffett were stale or not cooked well. The visit was not worth our time or money.

Very first time here @ this resturant and trust me it won't be my last. I,m in Osawatomie for work and this will be one of my food stops here while I stay in town

Gave this a try on one of our evening cycle rides. They had a buffet with fried chicken so we decided to give it a try. The food had good flavor but the end of the buffet rack had a problem with the heating element and the mashed potatoes and gravy were a bit cold. The rest of the food was hot so it must have just been the heating equipment. It was fairly late in the evening when we got there and only 2 pieces of fried chicken were on the bar. When we asked if more would come out the lady told us they had decided to fry the chicken basically to order to avoid wasting it if no one ate it. I certainly agree with that opinion and it basically assures you'll get fresh food. In the end, we enjoyed the food and the experience. We just found out they have a motorcycle night on Wednesdays and have some food specials. We plan on checking that out some time and will give a quick review when we do. Keep in mind that this is a small town cafe and the buffet can't compete with the big city versions but for it's size, it turns out good food. I would say that the desserts on the bar were very good too.

Wow, never had such terrible food. Had country fried steak, with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, a roll, and salad. Steak was greasy, corn had a 5 inch hair in it (I have short hair), mashed potatoes were crunchy from being in the warmer too long, roll was a premade roll cold out of a bag. Salad bar had just enough lettuce to make two small salads, Waitress was active, busy, and quick to refill drinks. I was stupid and didn't say anything, didn't want to cause a scene because it upsets my son, so I ate it, and went on.
