My first time ever going to a pub and I LOVED the experience. I came two nights in a row. First, we stayed at the hotel adjoined to the pub, and they let me use their microwave to heat up some food. The next two days we visited for the games and food. The service and workers were super kind and timely, and they were attentive, even during busy periods. The sweet potatoes were the best sweet potato fries we ever had and we split it three way. There are two pool tables, some couches and chairs and tables well spread out, very cozy place well decorated. Well heated as well. The TVs were plenty and can be seen from all angles. Bathroom is down some stairs which has accessibility concerns. food pricey but great and worth it considering the service, quality and TV and company. Great atmosphere.

Whistlers Stop Pub is without a doubt one of the best places in Jasper for dinner. Its location in the very heart of town makes it the perfect spot not only to enjoy delicious food and drinks, but also to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Jasper from its central hub. Whether you are a visitor exploring the Rockies or a local looking for a cozy place to unwind, this pub has something special to offer. The menu is fantastic with plenty of hearty choices, perfectly suited after a long day of adventure. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Pair that with their excellent selection of drinks, and you’ve got the ideal place for both casual dining and social evenings. What truly sets Whistlers Stop Pub apart is the staff. The team here is incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The servers go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. Their positive energy and great service add so much to the overall experience, making each visit memorable. If you’re in Jasper and want to experience a lively yet comfortable dining environment, Whistlers Stop Pub should be at the top of your list. It’s not just a place to eat, it’s a place to relax, connect, and enjoy the true spirit of Jasper right from the center of town.

This pub was part of the hotel, i stayed at, which makes it convenient. Had a pool table, fireplace, making it Comfy and pleasant. However, I came early and later it sounded much more exciting. Laughter, music and good times. I will return a beautiful experience.

Visit June 28,2025. We like the restaurant as it has a nice location and a nice patio that we encourage seating there and enjoy the weather . Service was great. Food is great , just I gave it 4 as the main burger Sandwich was containing bacon although it wasn’t written in the ingredients. We have to remove it from each Sandwich

We showed up after a day of hiking in Jasper with a large party - 14 people. We were able to take over the back room and we had an amazing server who was attentive and somehow managed to get all the drink, food, and bills just right. I had the snakebite to drink (a PBR mixed with an angry orchard) and my daughter and I split the pierogies and the schnitzel sandwich. Both were really good..we also had an order of the plain poutine for the young adult table to split and they devoured it. My husband got the poutine with pulled pork and jalapenos is his main dish. He said the pulled pork was not good and that he would definitely have preferred it without. The rest of the food seemed pretty standard. The service and atmosphere really won out! The servers was a guy from Australia or New Zealand based on his accent and he really was very good at his job. The 3 stars on atmosphere is based on the fact that we sat down for dinner at at 730, and due to the large group ordering drinks, dinner and food took a while. At 9, kids under 18 have to be out because it is a pub. Luckily the 17 and 14 years olds in the family were done and we sent them to get ice cream while we finished up. This would have been nice to know ahead of time. Again, the server handled it extremely tactfully. The kids loved having WiFi there too!

Google
Hopped in on a Saturday night, could tell the place was lively through the window. Very nice community energy inside (locals mingling and catching up). Drink prices outstanding (normal beer, wine, highball prices; NO $20 cocktail ripoffs for the Pataguccis). Live music to top it all off. Great little place to pop by on our walking pub crawl. Very kind staff, prompt service at the bar.

Stayed in Jasper a couple of nights and called in both nights. A local bar with great atmosphere and staff. We were made really welcome! We didnt eat here but my husband loved the Guinness!

Google
It was a nice little pub with great staff and tasty food. They have a pool table, bar and all kinds of different seating while you enjoy watching the game. Good central location across from the park

Yelp
Located between the two main streets, it's almost hidden. The Whistle Stop Pub is a place the locals go to, so we figured the food was probably better than the turn and burn touristy places along the street. And we were right. I had the Whistle Stop burger on the waiters recommendation. A really good burger at a below average price point. My wife had the fish and chips and it was cooked right, not greasy. It was seat yourself. The wait staff was attentive and helpful with menu selections. If you are looking for a simple meal that tastes great at a great price, give this place a try. It's not fancy, it's a local pub.

Sherry D.

Yelp
Cool vibe the food was not good at all. Only had one bartender working on a Sunday football day. Yes one bartender working as a server and bartender .
google avatar

Arlene W.

Yelp
Great food and prices. Easy to get in without a reservation on a Saturday night. Service was quick and our server was excellent!
google avatar

Angi M.

Yelp
This was a great place! Very welcoming atmosphere and over-the top service. We had the nachos with pulled pork; so tasty and even discounted for NFL Sunday. If we didn't live so far away, I'd go there once a week at least.

Yelp
Great service. Had the ribs and wings that were great. Jasper is a unique town full of nice restaurants and bars.

Yelp
Wow, service was incredible, and the food... amazing!!! We had the house made meatball sub, French onion soup was the best I've ever had and the bartenders were so friendly ! Had a wonderful experience. Thank you!!! Highly recommend

Yelp

Yelp
We walked past this restaurant tonight and thought we would try it. The server was helpful in answering some questions related to my wife's dietary needs. She ordered the cheeseburger. I had fish tacos. The burger was OK. As were the fish tacos. Not bad, not great - just okay. The portion size of the tacos was generous. The burger and fries portion size was fine. Nothing stands out as being particularly good, and nothing stands out as bad. It was simply okay. Probably won't go back.

Yelp
This is a local's pub serving casual fare. The burger special is an exceptional deal, especially considering that the burger is actually great! Showed up here muddy and hungry from mountain biking and was served with a smile. The patio is situated on a quiet side road facing a park area, and you can see the bike rack from where you are sitting (important for those with nice bikes!). The decor inside is dated and has the comforting feel of an established, well-worn pub.
google avatar

Danielle N.

Yelp
I like this one best out of all jasper pubs. It has more of a local bar feel where the residents of jasper go to get a drink and socialize. Not too young and rowdy, but all walks of life and ages were found in here. More laid back vibe. It's got a kind of dive bar feel (in all the right ways). Big TVs for watching sports. But nice big windows to view the street. Service was excellent and very friendly, felt welcome right from the get go. We enjoyed a few pints of beer and shared the nachos which were massive in portion size and super satisfying after a day on the slopes. It's located right in the middle of town inside the Whistlers Inn. So excellent place to pop in for a beer on your way to or from dinner. Or to watch a hockey game or play a round of pool. Oh also they sometimes have jam sessions, if you feel like listening to some live tunes!

Yelp
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Typical pub, for better or worse. We'd spotted this place in downtown Jasper and thought it'd be a good place to hang and have some drinks. We stopped in one night for a few beers and a Caesar. The bartender was nice, but he didn't make the best Caesar. I think it had too much worcestershire sauce or something, the taste was a little weird. Better to stick with the beers, methinks. But it's a fun, casual place, with plenty of TVs for your sports-watching pleasure.

Yelp
THE FOOD HERE IS HOMEMADE AND MARVELOUS. The reason this place is getting 3 stars is because it's a dive. I say - who freaking cares! We put Jasper into our GPS and for 300 miles were driving through the freezing cold mountains. Our GPS ended us near the end of town and we decided it was fate to just go on into Whistle Stop. Plus, we saw the burger special sign outside and decided it was a must. Do not expect much of the decor, but honestly ALL of Jasper looks like it's straight up out of an early's 90's sitcom and just hasn't changed as dust gathered on knick knacks and the world just breezed on by them. That is the town in a nutshell, and honestly that is part of it's charm! We ordered the most food I think we've ever ordered because we missed lunch and were craving some serious comfort food. We opted for two burger specials one with fries, the other with their french onion soup - see photo for ultimate #cheesepull goals. And a round of beers. It was a greasy spoon dive burger and it. was. GLORIOUS. Some people are claiming the best in Jasper. These are my favorite types of burgers and I can agree, it was delish. We also ordered the peirogies (see photo) and my god. I would say top 2 I've ever had. We asked before ordered them if they were good because you know peirogies can range in good to terrible. She said they were her favorite thing on the menu and she was right. Lightly seared dressed in bacon and chive. These DEF hit the spot after a long day of hiking in the mountains. Fantastic service, I will never forget our stop at the Whistle Stop pub and how weird that we left our dinner choice up to fate at where the GPS landed us? WE NEVER DO THAT. Go and taste the magic for yourself.

Yelp
Typical pub food with staples like burgers, fries and beer. Had the stop burger which was a good meal for $8. Sizeable burger, well made patty and the usual toppings. I would recommend switching out the regular fries for sweet potato, it's worth the additional couple bucks. The French onion soup was reported to be on the salty side, but I considered it very flavourful. Laid back service but easy to find them when needed. The manager came around to make sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed. Great place to relax and watch a game over a beer after a day of wandering around Jasper.

Yelp
The Whistle Stop Pub is my go-to anytime I find myself in Jasper. If you're like me, a sucker for pub fare and local brews, consider dining here. My family and I stayed at the hotel upstairs and had a great time eating here throughout the week. Although the pub didn't have high chairs for our 7-month-old, the staff were super accommodating and let us bring our own to use each time we visited. If you're sitting in the restaurant, you have a nice view of the mountains as well as the visitor centre, and you might even catch some live music (so long as there isn't a global pandemic, right?). Our main servers were Sam and Craig, they did an awesome job and gave us some great food (try the mozzarella loaf!). I'm going to continue coming here when I drive through or stay in town, the friendliness of the staff and good eats is any travellers remedy!

Yelp
We stayed up stairs hotel so we decided to try the food here. Foods are good and it get crowded. The girl in my group didn't like avocado here, she has special salad with avocado.
google avatar

Yelp
My rating is a 4.5 for staff was friendly and food / beer was cheap! Happy hour until 7pm on beers and $7.75 for burgers and fries you can't beat it! Great option in Jasper and a good spot for people watching!
google avatar

Teofila R.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this pub! Nice friendly bartender! I had the steak sandwich cooked to my preference and it was tender and delicious ! My friend had the hamburger and she really enjoyed it! It looked delicious! My other friend had the fish and chips!

Yelp
Great people. Treat you very good Good value on food and drink. Best burger in Jasper.

Megan P.

Yelp
Went in for some appies and a drink. Service was awesome. Food was mediocre and had to ask for the food to be remade. Decent local pub.

Darlene R.

Yelp
Warm inviting casual atmosphere reminds me of an English pub. Server was welcoming, gave great suggestions and was attentive. The burgers were delicious and salad was ultra fresh. Price was reasonable. Will recommend. Thank you!
google avatar

Marcella Z.

Yelp
We ordered chicken wings -salt and pepper- which is really good. Crispy on the outside and tender inside. We also ordered the game burger which is a mix of venison, bison and elk minced meat, top with goat cheese, fresh onion, tomato and pickle. The meat itself is very good and flavorful but unfortunately, the big slice of goat cheese is too overwhelming and masking the beautiful flavor of the meat. Another let down is the burger bun. It's too much like the ones you get from a supermarket. They should have grilled the bun a little with butter to enhance the meat flavor.
google avatar

Serena J.

Yelp
I wish I could give a lower star rating. Dive bar. Dirty and low end. Rude staff. Cheap food yeah but you get what you pay for. And now that I know that they are affiliated with Cassio's, one of the rudest places in Jasper we will never go back again. We like to support the local businesses here but we've never had anything but bad experiences here. Even had local people getting drunk at the bar verbally abusing us because my husband is English and the staff did nothing about it. Laughed it off but god forbid you poke a joke at them! They'll go on a millennial snowflake tirade that will last a lifetime! Joke of a place. Try the Athabasca or Ded Dog instead. Better food and better staff.
google avatar

Sharon P.

Yelp
Should I go here for the cheap burger and fries? Yes. Should I go here for the nachos? No.
google avatar

Allan R.

Yelp
Friendly staff and fast service. Many TVs showing the NHL playoffs. Great food. We had the salt and pepper ribs, pepperoni flat bread, Alberta beef dip and mac 'n' cheese. Food was hot and fresh. Nice place to stop for food when travelling between B.C. and Alberta. It does have a pool table.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Nice locals pub. It's cozy, it has a couple TV screens. You can sit by the window and watch people. It has cheap beer. Crowd is both young and old. Neighborhood pub feel. If you want to party hardy go to the Atha B across the street. The Stop burger with the coleslaw is a great deal. A little annoyed that the Clubhouse is not triple decker and don't tell you. Still two thumbs up.

Yelp
Passing thru Jasper for a quick bite can b a bit overwhelming as there are approximately 60 restaurants downtown. We ended up at the Whistlestop Pub and we knew as soon as we walked in we knew we made a good decision. If u wander into an establishment in Jasper (a place with a mostly transient clientele) and its packed at 2 in the afternoon you've chosen well. Lots of great energy in the room. Had a couple burgers that we more than decent and a quick beer before getting back on the road. It's nice to know a place where u can get great service and good food in a town where u can strike out, wasting a bunch of money in the process. Would stop again for sure. Thanks guys! Andy

Angus J.

Yelp
One of the best small town pubs of all time. Excellent service, great ambience, two bars, two pool tables, multiple flat screens, buck hunter and live music events make this a place to check out. The staff at this pub are a cut above the rest, even at the end of a long shift they are welcoming you in, friendly and quick to help. All the staff are long time locals with a lot of knowledge on what to do around the park if you are out of ideas of what to do. The food is consistent and pretty good, but it is pub food. But still, how can you pass up a burger and fries for $6?! The drink menu is typical of most pubs, offering most domestics and the more common import beers, and depending on the bartender, you can get some mighty interesting cocktails and shots created for you. The live music is usually pretty good, with a great range of genres throughout the event schedules. It is a local favourite, frequented by no particular crowd. On any given night, you will find 18 year olds playing pool with 60 year olds! A great little pub, and a great hangout with even better service.

Yelp
Just arrived in Jasper with my boyfriend who is from England and has never been to Jasper before. We stopped here to have a drink and maybe find out about some good places to eat - who not better to ask then a bartender! We sat at the bar and I asked what they had for wine or a wine list (this place clearly screams that the chances of having a wine list is next to none, but it is Jasper afterall so you never know). The bartender chuckled and said "we're a classy kind of place, we have red, white or pink". I laughed and said white. Might not have been an issue except for when he turned to get my wine he decided to tell two old men locals that I asked for a wine list and they proceeded to laugh and make fun of me while I was no more than three feet away no less! Needless to say that was inappropriate and extremely rude and put a damper on our good moods - temporarily, we'll leave and have fun elsewhere where. Just be forewarned, if you want to avoid being the butt of jokes, just state your preference up front - red, white or pink. (Don't bother asking for bubbles, who knows what might happen)

Yelp
Looking for a reasonably priced night out in Jasper? This is your spot. It was busy and lively establishment. The dress is casual and the ambience is laid back. There were lots of different beers on tap: Coors light and Alexander Keith's to name two, but there were several others. The menu was standard pub fair. We had the doubled-layered nachos. Wow! The portion was large, covered in lots of cheese, jalapeños, onion, and peppers. The order came with sizable portions of salsa and sour cream. If the two of you are really hungry, go for it. My only complaint is that the nachos were a little dry and too crisp around the edges....a little too long in the oven, I think. We had an order of poutine as well, which was very good. For dessert we shared the spicy toffee pudding. It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and is covered with spicy sauce that is to die for. Seriously, it was so good! I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Very nice cozy bar. Wings and fried pickle so good. Perfect after a long day of snowboarding at marmot basin. Nice people good food awesome selection of draught beer and good ambiance.
google avatar

Avigayil M.

Yelp
This pub was really a nice, fun environment. The staff was fill-in staff from other restaurants and they were holding the floor well. Had the double-nachos: they were slightly overcooked but covered in all the toppings you could want. I also had the poutine: it was a good poutine but I would love to see it made with crinkle french fries: holds gravy better. The sticky toffee pudding was divine: I ate it before I could take a picture and then went back for another piece. Yum yum. Pricing was pretty good too - not too expensive.

Yelp
Nice pub after a long day's drive. Friendly waitress and bartender.
google avatar

Twyla Y.

Yelp
We stopped in for a beer (well, i had a Blueberry Tea cuz it's my new favourite thing) and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly, and it was a a pretty chill place. Like a ski-lodge vibe or something. Also, I was sitting beside the lost & found box so i dug through it (gross, I know, but i couldn't help myself) and there was some great stuff in there! Ipod chargers, fancy sunglasses...so much stuff! If you've ever lost anything in Jasper, go look in their Lost & Found Box - you'll probably find it!

King E.

Yelp
This Pub has nice pub food at low prices. We had the Stop Platter, which has "a bit" of everything and easily serves 3 hungry adults for just 35CAD. The cheese burger + Fries Combo for 7.75 CAD looked good aswell. Gonna try it next time. Yes, there are some weird looking locals drinking beer at 5pm, but they keep to themselves. Afterall it is a pub! Otherwise it would be a restaurant. The decor has a rustic charme. The waiters have all been very nice. Would recommend as an affordable way to get good pub food in the overly expensive Jasper.
google avatar

Bon'shaniqua M.

Yelp
Cheap Drinks. Cheap Burger with Fries. Awesome for locals like me. Cannot ask for more. I wish they made fresh cut fries though. But the burger makes up for it.
google avatar

Bryce M.

Yelp
Lip urinals in the men's shitter was perfect due to the fact that I was wearing open toed shoes and got no pee on my toes. Unfortunately, the shitter was downstairs and I refuse to exercise. The bartenders were funny (not like clown funny but like personality wise).. We had about a thousand crown and 7's in our suckholes and every one was delicious. Unfortunately the tab was $150CAN but welcome to Canadia. Cheers bitches
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
It's cozy and has nice food . Some of the servers seem to really like their job too which makes it have an even better atmosphere.
google avatar

Toni G.

Yelp
We ate at this restaurant after 3-hour snow walk in a feels like -39 weather. 4 Toronto girls and travelling on a budget. We were thinking of just splitting orders and the server with glasses was taking our order decided to just walk out on us and left without endorsement to another server or any explanation. Such a rude person. Food is okay since everything we ordered was salty. The elk burger is a must try. Giving one star for the elk burger and that's it.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Stayed here on a trip to Jasper and have been in for a drink a few times on different trips. It's an older hotel so the rooms are nothing spectacular but they do the job. The roof top hot tub is amazing!!!!! The bar is good, service is relaxed. There's always a nice atmosphere in this bar, wish they did more for entertainment.

Rob R.

Yelp
A little jem nestled off the Mainroad. Three of us ordered different burgers. Was not disappointed. Highly recommend Staff 5 stars also

Jim R.

Yelp
Really poor service, took them 15 minutes to come to our table to take our order and took longer to get our food. When the food arrived, the fries tasted like someone dumped a salt container on the them. When I mentioned this, nothing was done. Won't ever go back.
google avatar

AJ ..

Yelp
Not great. Server ignored us almost 10 minutes into being here. Nachos were SUPER salty and our server just left, like went-home-left. Beer wasn't cold enough, servers complaining about "not my area", they ran out of pasta tonight, We still haven't even gotten to order anything but an appetizer, as we are still being ignored. This is our First and last time here in this pub.
google avatar

Jennie M.

Yelp
Want to grab a pint and party Rocky Mountain High Style, this is your place! With live music, a great atmosphere, cheap(ish) drinks, fast service and always a cool cast of customers; the Whistle Stop Pub is what Jasper is all about! The perfect apre-ski stop, and totally packed in the summer months too! I just love this place!!

John A.

Yelp
Beer, Burgers and a Saturday afternoon Jam Session - not a bad way to pass a few hours between 3 and 5pm on what was an overcast day in Jasper. This Bar has a great history and very popular with locals and visitors - and being from Edmonton, a must stop on our visits to Jasper. We had planned to stop by for a quick beer as we walked through Jasper - my favourite mountain town and park by a country mile. We opted for the cheeseburger special, that for $4.5 bucks was a steal , came fully loaded, was good and with the fries that came with it - a nice early dinner and maybe the last one you need for the day. Washed down by a couple of pints of Molson Canadian (beer) also at $4.50 we laid back and listened to 4 locals playing guitars, a guy with a harmonica, a lady with a bongo and just relaxed.
google avatar

T C.

Yelp
We were here last weekend to watch the drag show during Jasper in January. An entertaining and fun crowd with decent priced drinks. Only issue is it gets pretty crowded and what they use as a stage area makes it very difficult to move around the bar.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Service good, food bad: go for drinks not eats. You know when you leave cheese out on the sun and it gets sweaty and mushy? That was effectively the nachos. They had music though and a good atmosphere.
google avatar

Ting Yi C.

Yelp
Decent and cheap stop burger as well as beer! Good service with a pretty chill ambience. This is definitely not a classy bar but it is good enough for a casual hang out with friends. It has two pool tables which is kinda cool considering how some people might want to get some form of entertainment after having a beer or two. The window seats were pretty awesome as well where you will be able to have a drink and people watch at the same time. Overall, a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend those to stop by here to get the cheap burger and drinks.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Well looks like they use there funds from this busy business go into the owners pockets because it definitely isn't going into the décor seating looks like it came out of a garage sale . The staff while very friendly and efficient were unable to make the most basic Martini some gin some olives not rocket science. Food was ok nothing to write home about. The place is probably a gold mine yet you'd think it was on East Hastings in fact I've been to sound there that were nicer. The best part was the pre lip imprinted wine glasses my wife got I'm sure she'll enjoy the herpes later.
