Our time here was quite good. The room for us three sisters, with a king sized and a twin bed, was more than large enough, there is ample, afternoon or evening hanging-out space in the downstairs area (where you can enjoy the New York Times, Berkshire Eagle, a glass of sherry, or candy-in-a-jar), the breakfast was filling, the back gardens are beautiful, there is a thoughtful upstairs hallway table laden with coffee cups waiting to be filled with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a cookie jar of Oreo's, a refrigerator with a pitcher of cold water, and also for guests' use, and, lastly, the family-owners are very helpful and chock-filled with travel and historical info. On the negative, or call it quirky/charming side, floors are slanted every which way, doors squeak and creak, there is very little space for placing our suitcases somewhere other than an upholstered chair and, thereafter, the floor, a paucity of outlets, water comes out rusty from the bathtub faucet (but then cleared up), Wifi is very undependable, and the breakfast is too carb-filled for our tastes. None of these negatives should keep you from coming here as it is a rambling, charming, personality-and-antique-filled, conveniently-located and moderately-priced B&B.
