What a great rest, bar and distillery experience just in an convenient spot besides the main road. Food was absolutely delicious, spirit and cocktails were right on spot and went really well with dishes. Most of all, service was magnificent! Also a cherry on the cake, a craft distillery in the back of the restaurant. You just know exactly what you've drank. The owner was really nice and made a thorough introduction of his distillery. Impressive... A must visit restaurant, bar and distillery when you're in the neighborhood.

Enjoyed the tour and the flights! Bryan really knows his stuff and was a fantastic host. In fact, the entire staff could not have been more accommodating. They have a full liquor bar in addition to what they distill. The food was also very good and made a nice snack. I have to believe his wife the chef had a hand in crafting their food options.! We will be back again to restock our liquor cabinet.

Had a really terrible dinner here at one of their theme dinner nights. Started off with the waitress being rude when we first came in to get seated. Her attitude continued through the whole meal. Ordered the porchetta, which really was just a terrible pork loin that was dry and no where near tender. My friend order the gnocchi and it was the tiniest portion imaginable. The prices were vastly out of touch from what they are able to accomplish. They also planned poorly and ran out of items in about an hour from start of service. Which the place wasn’t extremely full when we got there and continued to empty out. Lots of spaces to sit. I think the food coming out barely room temperature was the highlight of the meal. Wait time for the cold food was extra long as well. Saw another table that had ordered a flat bread that came out after their entrees and they were ready to leave by the time it arrived. Them leaving the entire flatbread should have been a sign that things weren’t working right in the back of the house.

Google
Terrible dinner. Another one of my favorite places going to crap. They changed the menu from creative asian fusion to average bar food. Now the food is terrible but with high prices. Cocktail list is half what it used to be too. On top of that, order is now at the bar and the staff is terrible, forgot some orders. After years of coming here since opening, we will not go anymore. Sad…

It's great to see Whistling Andy's grow! The new location suits very well and they have delivered with quality. Most Importantly, is the booze good? YES!! I enjoy the brown and they, across the board, have world class offerings.  The Black Label Whiskey and the Tawny Rye are Favs! The Mrs and I have been visiting since 2009 and they consistently raise their game. As for the menu, The Ramen bowl, Pastrami sandwich and Pot Roast are highlights.  The mixed drinks are very tasty and they have a great selection of Montana Craft beers on tap that pair well with the spirits. Get Jena to make you a Lyle's V8.  She along with the rest of the crew make each visit special!  Highly recommended.

Stopped in for a quick tasting. Bought two bottles and a T-shirt. Friendly people. We will stop again if ever passing through. Right on the highway.

Google
First experience was great. Second time here was polar opposite. Drinks were given to us 30 minutes after ordered and poorly made without garnishing we previously really loved. Our food was complete trash. Our sushi with “yellowtale” was literally a roll of rice with the smallest piece of fish. The Goat sandwich bread practically crumbled in my hands, I cannot believe they would even considered giving it to guests. The staff this particular evening was under trained and honestly were just bodies keeping this place open.

Google
As we arrived the staff did a great job greeting us and describing their options. We tried a flight first and enjoyed the 5 year whiskey the best. We also tried the bourbon smash and the hop sour. The hop sour ended up being the favorite of the two cocktails.

Yelp
What a great find on our road trip to Glacier NP. Food was great, fun atmosphere & great cocktail menu. We also did a flight tasting.

Yelp
Dropped in as i drove between Kalispell and Missoula on a Tuesday afternoon. One of the distillers was on-staff/present. He was very willing to discuss the craft and the difference between their products. I didn't try any off the food, but the conversation during tastings as he honed in on what I might like - very nice. Talking with the distiller, sounds like when things are all up and operational in 6 months, this would be a 5-stars. Purchased 2 bottles of bourbon.

Chris D.

Yelp
Great food and drinks. Whisky's were really enjoyable but they needed more staff to take care of everyone. We would happily return!

Yelp
Stumbled in at a whim while traveling. THESE ARE GREAT FOLKS AND THEY ARE DOG FRIENDLY! While their spirits are good, it was the service and experience that made this a 5. The Bar Tender/ Server was the finest young lady who made this a memorable experience. She is the best and the management had best treat her well or someone will steal her up! Thanks to her for such a pleasant afternoon.

Yelp
Whistling Andy is a great pit-stop for thirsty travelers who want a taste of Montana in a relaxed setting! Aside from serving great spirits and unique cocktails made with local ingredients, Whistling Andy is also very community-focused, a value which I've always admired. My wife and I stopped here on our drive from Big Sky to West Glacier and had a blast! The staff was friendly and offered numerous drink recommendations, so we ended up sharing three different gin cocktails since we could not make a decision. The Huckleberry Gin Fizz was delicious, packed with tangy citrus and huckleberry puree. The Farmer's Daughter was refreshing and flavorful, fused with cucumber and rosemary. Lastly, but certainly most unique, the Herbivore surprised us with it's fusion of gin, lime, basil, agave and... balsamic! Don't be scared off by the inclusion of vinegar, it complements the other ingredients perfectly. (You'll be happy you tried it.) We enjoyed our Whistling Andy experience so much that we stayed for two hours and purchased two bottles to take home. We're now excited to share the Cucumber Gin and the Pink Peppercorn Gin with our family and friends. If I'm ever ordering a drink while in Montana, I always ask the bartender if they have any Whistling Andy Gin behind the bar!

Yelp
This hidden gem is absolutely with the stop. There's some fun history and the bartender shared great stories. If you are considering buying a bottle, I recommend sampling them through a flight option. Bottles make great gifts if you're traveling or local. Also is great but if you're a cocktail master m. They have some really delicious fro is and it was hard to choose. I was really happy with my Scorched Honeybee and my friend had a seasonal pumpkin drink that tasted great too.

Paul B.

Yelp
Food was poor quality. Staff blamed "the turbo toaster". Quiet Saturday - despite the turbo toaster the sandwich took 35 mins. Great ambiance. Someone needs to care about this business. Have some passion and make a go of this. Young child on the table next to me complained about sour cream on her quesadilla. Waitress brought her some napkins to wipe it off. So frustrating. This is a small town with very few lunch options.

Yelp
Stop in right on Hwy 35 to sample some Montana goodness!! We tried several and ended up buying the Sperry vodka and black label bourbon whiskey. The gal behind the counter was super friendly and they had tons of cute merchandise options if you're looking for a gift for someone back home!

Yelp
This place was awesome and their attendant at the tasting bar was very accommodating. We purchased some food from a taco truck parked next to the parking lot and we were allowed to eat inside while we had a tasting flight and played darts. Their cocktails are amazing and a really diverse spirit selection.
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Took the tour. Good mixed drinks. Interesting and unique infusions in their vodka and gin.

Yelp
Amazing spot! I love their gin and my husband was a big fan of the rye. Lots of great games, even better bartenders and perfect assortment of drinks and food. We'll be back.

Yelp
Absolute must see in Bigfork. Perfect for spirit aficionados and cocktail lovers. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. Music was on point. We went back every day we were in town. Grab a bottle to go! Great souvenir.

Yelp
We came here while on a leisurely afternoon drive around the lake. We are originally from Montana so it was great to visit a local place. We had a Moiese Mule with their distilled vodka(corn is sourced in Moiese, MT). Delicious! We also tried a flight that included their Moonshine, Bourbon, Gin, and Brandy. If you visit the Flathead Lake (a must!), check out Whistling Andy's. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Allrighty then. You know how yelp nags, I mean reminds you, of the various stuff you've done on yelp (photos, check-ins, tips, etc.) and wants you to write a review? Well Whistling Andy is one of those places I added a picture for (which reminds me, I still need to add a picture for the bottle) and yelp wants me to write a review... So here it is (and a couple others I've been procrastinating over). Thuy and I were in Montana a couple months back and had a seriously good time. In addition to all the natural beauty that abounds, we found that there are some pretty decent restaurants and even better breweries. In our quest to find more breweries, we also came across quite a few distilleries. Sadly we were not able to visit any, but on the drive back to Washington to catch our flight home, we stopped in the town of St. Regis for some food and gasoline. In this town was a grocery store (Stangs Food Center), and they also sold beer, wine and liquor. It was here I picked up a bottle of Whistling Andy Rum. Whistling Andy comes in two flavors that I saw. A standard white rum and a hibiscus coconut. I heard good things about the hibiscus coconut rum, but I really could not envision using a whole bottle of it. Instead I bought a bottle of the regular rum, primarily as a gift for a friend. It's a pretty cool bottle as each one is numbered and signed, which makes for a unique gift. As far as rum goes, it's not going to rock your world, but it a perfectly good rum for mixing. I do rather regret at least not trying the coconut hibiscus, as Montana spirits are prominent in the local bars and restaurants. If I'm ever back that way, I certainly will try to make it to the distillery (which is located in Bigfork, which is at the NE corner of the large and beautiful Flathead Lake - another worthy destination).

Yelp
We are exploring MT and we stopped here for a quick tasting and a drink. I would give this place a 3.5 star rating only because we have had better and that's what we were comparing it to. We tried 2 different Gin's (a cucumber one and a pear peppered) which both were good. Then we tried a whiskey and a bourbon and those ones were okay but we have definitely had smoother. We really enjoyed their huckleberry mash mixed drink, highly recommend trying that one!

Yelp
First time....tasting flights, distillery, gins n rum's, taco truck bar n tables.....small variety of mixed drinks.....nice family/friend association

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but it was a big disappointment (mostly due to the staff). The food was not terrible but not good (the quesadilla was ok, the salad was quite bad). But the worst part was the staff. The bartender/waitress (woman with jet black hair, ponytail) was amazingly bad. We waited very long for food and saw many people who came in after us served but not our food. I asked the waitress if she would check on our food. Although she said yes, i then watched her for 10 minutes standing behind the bar doing nothing. So i then went into the kitchen to ask and the cook said our food had been sitting there for a very long time -- the waitress was taking everyone's food out except ours. When i told this to the waitress, all she said was "oh" -- no apology - almost like she was trying to be a jerk. I then went into the kitchen and got our food and brought it to our table -- waitress just watched. Amazing. Again, we really wanted to like this place (it was recommended by a friend). While the setting is nice, the food wasn't good and the waitress/staff was beyond bad. Hopefully she will get her act together - she doesn't represent the place well.

Yelp
Came here while we were on vacation. I ordered an old fashioned for the first time. It's since become my favorite cocktail but I still haven't found one as good as Whistling Andy's

A D.

Yelp
I use to take everyone who came to visit to Whistling Andy's, the staff was amazing, the drinks were unique, and although a bit pricey was well worth it. Now, since they moved to their new location, the prices are higher than before yet you dont have the same friendly staff, drinks being made without the same care or excitment as before, and not as personable as before. The food was not worth the cost, childs grilled cheese was all bread and no cheese. Unfortunately, this is now just another tourist attraction and not the home town friendly great place we loved.

Yelp
I stopped in to this distillery on a rainy day, my first day of a 7-day vacation I had planned to take in Glacier. After much of west Glacier closed down due to fires, I wasn't exactly sure how to start my vacation. The guys at Whistling Andy are the absolute best. Dan set me up with a ton of information to help reroute my trip. He suggested day activities at Flathead (even despite the rain) and a campsite nearby. I got to see the Farmer's Market at Big Fork and listen to fantastic band at the Raven nearby. He also connected me with Dax for a great tour of the distillery. I highly recommend the moonshine! I took it on a camping trip and it was a hit.

Paula B.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Had a great pastrami sandwich and trout dip. Try the fine drinks as well.
google avatar

Lindsey C.

Yelp
I'm going to start out this review by saying I took a star off for customer service. the girl behind the counter was rude, uncommunicative, and unapproachable. I would have enjoyed the distillery much more if she wasn't so cold. As far as the distillery, I loved the cherrychello and hibiscus rum, the place it's self could be a great stop around the lake.... but it just isn't there. Stop if you like rum, but there are better places to sample.
google avatar

Drew Y.

Yelp
Superior craft liquor made by people who care. People with pride in the quality of the products in their liquor and the drinks speak for themselves. Get a bottle and you get a free tasting flight. They have a rotating group of food trucks in front. Brian and Lisa (owners) have created a truly warm and inclusive vibe with some of the best HCR- Hibiscus Coconut Rum, Cucumber Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, and Cherry Brandy on the planet. If you can't make it in person please support this local family business online !!!

Yelp
I don't even know where to start. This is now on the top of my MT distilleries list. We had a flight and also one drink each, and took home a few bottles. EVERYTHING we tried was delicious. I've never been to a distillery where I've enjoyed all of the spirits... this is the first! We took home bottles of bourbon and the pink peppercorn gin -- So. Freaking. Good. I'm usually not one to try "flavored" alcohol but man oh man I love that stuff - makes the best G&T ever. Great crowd at the bar. And the bartender was really awesome - Seth I think? Hopefully I'm remembering correctly. Anyway. Really awesome guy, very knowledgeable and friendly and FUNNY! We will now make this a mandatory stop every time we're wandering north for the weekend. Thanks guys!
google avatar

Yelp
Outstanding craft spirits and cocktails! In love with the Harvest Select Whiskey and the Pink Peppercorn and Pear Gin but the Straight Bourbon is up there too. So many good choices so hard to choose!
google avatar

Betsy C.

Yelp
Great drinks and whiskey, great staff, who are very knowledgable. Awesome place to stop for a drink on the way to Glacier NP

Yelp
We were wandering around the area and stumbled onto Whistling Andy on a lark and what a find! The bartender (sadly I can't remember his name right now) was super informative and knowledgeable. He slung us some great cocktails and we left with several bottles and cocktail recipes as a result.
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
Enjoyed our tour and visit to Whistling Andy's Distillery. Gabe gave us a very informative tour of their distillery and Dan served us cocktails with a culinary twist. Added some mint and rosemary to our drinks and listened to exactly how we liked them - not too sweet! Ran into Dax, who is the manager of Whistling Andy's, at the Raven Bat and Grill later that week. All seem to enjoy their work at the distillery and love the spirits created there. We loved them too! A must stop in Bigfork!

Andy H.

Yelp
This place has some great products at a fairly reasonable price. The coconut Hibiscus rum is delicious. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Great Taco truck just out side, with really good tacos and nachos.....Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Loved the Spirit of Sperry Vodka!! Had it at Stonehill Kitchen and Bar in the Crane Mountain Martini. Best drink ever!!!

mixxxx z.

Yelp
Hearts are as big as Texas! Alexia was super helpful and I am SO very happy to support their effort to rebuild The Sherry Chalet. Thank you, Brian Anderson for this idea. I wish more folks could buy this Whiskey easier and support the fund drive. Beautiful tasting site too. So folks, go to Big Fork and buy Spirit of Sperry.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
So cool. Some local couples getting big into distilling some good spirits. You can do a tasting of four spirits for $8. They have rums, vodka, brandy, whiskey, and moonshine. Now, I don't do shots, so distillery tasting is hard for me. But I did my best. And, if you don't want tastings, they do make mixed drinks. The owners are so friendly. They gave us a tour and explained how they got into the business and what their future plans were. This is such a cute place. Definitely swing in and check it out if you can. Great find.
google avatar

Aaron K.

Yelp
I got a bad bottle of rum for my wife. The other three bottles of various spirits were wonderful. After a quick email asking about said rum, a response came with in hours. Some t-shirts and a new bottle is on the way. Unexpected us an understatement. Fantastic spirits at a good price with world class service. That is how it should be, and worth a review. Check em out! P.S. The tasting room is less than half of liquor store prices. If you can make there, DO IT!!!

Brielle H.

Yelp
Great vibe, knowledgeable and friendly bartender, good music, and even better drinks!! Highly recommend everyone stop on in. Great on the way back from a hike in the mountains.

Denise B.

Yelp
Been wanting to check this place out ! What a great place Cameron was our bartender. He was super personable. Gave us some great info about the business. Offered to help us find the drink that was best for us! Really took the time to make us feel welcome. Had some great tips on food since we are new to the area and makes a mean Bloody Mary to top it! Made our day ! We will definitely go back. If your looking for a cool place with class this is it!! Thanks Cameron for being awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
We visited this establishment and had a really good time. My stepmother treated us to pick out a bottle each of whatever was our favorite drink. They gave her the receipt. Somehow, either the waitress or my stepmother entered an $800.00 tip. We are confident that my stepmother did not intend to leave an $800 tip. She has had constant communication with management but they are siding with the waitress. $800 tip is not a reasonable tip, maybe $80 but they REFUSE to return any money. I believe they have taken advantage of a tourist.
google avatar

Victor e.

Yelp
The staff is friendly, caring, talented. You can tell the passion they have for their craft. I throughly enjoyed their spirits in their various cocktails. Got a hat and shirt to match!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Can't speak for the alcohol but I walked in for an espresso (as advertised outside) and was charged $4. Pretty sure the bartender didn't know the price and just decided to rip me off. I've been in the area for a month now and know this isn't the price. With business practices like this for tourists, you would do better finding another place to drink.
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
Whistling Andy made for a fun stop on our way from Missoula to Glacier. The tasting room is pretty large, and there's a good amount of seating. I believe they offer flights of their various spirits, but we opted for cocktails instead. They were solid, and featured some neat, off-beat ingredients.
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
Oh, heck YEAH! We bumbled onto Whistling Andy in January of this year. It was one of the very few places open on a Sunday afternoon in the Flathead, and it was c-c-c-c-old out. I think it was Brian who helped us sample the various wares. Whistling Andy's Hibiscus Coconut rum, an international award winner, is a local favorite and getting to taste some "moonshine" (unaged whiskey) was a real treat. They also have several varieties of gin. We left slightly warmer, clutching several bottles that we "exported" to Oregon. Now that we live in the Flathead, we can stop in for a drink or some live music of a Wednesday night, and it's close to a great state park and all the fun that Bigfork has to offer. Try some Hibiscus Coconut rum with rhubarb Dry soda like the Raven serves it...a can't-go-wrong summer drink!

Sandra S.

Yelp
We recently spent a long weekend getaway in Montana and took one day to drive around Flathead Lake. We had stumbled upon Whistling Andy's a couple of years ago when I participated in the Polar Bear Plunge down the road and thought it would be a good place to warm up. I think that was the weekend of their grand opening or something, but we didn't remember being as impressed as we were on this recent trip. We decided to share two tastings of 4 liquors each so we could try all 8. We're not big gin drinkers, but my husband is a rum fanatic and we both really enjoy whiskey. We were pleasantly surprised by the pink peppercorn and pear gin. Good stuff, right there. In fact, so good, we decided to buy a couple of bottles. We also enjoyed the moonshine and whiskey. The hibiscus-coconut rum was smooth and we immediately started talking about all the tropical drinks we couldn't wait to make so we grabbed a bottle of that too. I think the biggest surprise for both of us was the Hopshnop! Distilled hops. Basically, they get beer from some Montana brewery and distill it. My husband, who doesn't like beer at all, said it was the best way to drink beer and liked it enough to add a bottle of that to our purchase. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable and the booze is good. We definitely plan to add Whistling Andy's as a regular stop on our trips to the Flathead and Glacier. Cheers!

Peter R.

Yelp
Long been a Gin drinker, stopped in on a road trip two weeks ago and tried the Gin. It is some of the best Gin I have had. Along with great customer service! Brought a bottle home to enjoy, just wish I lived closer. Keep up the great work.

Yelp
Such a cool experience! I became a fan of Whistling Andy's spirits because some of my favorite bars in Las Vegas carry them, so visiting the distillery was a must. Once here I received a warm welcome from everyone inside, from the staff to other visitors. It's very family oriented here and they make you feel like you're part of the family as well. The front area has spirits, cool swag, and drinks or flights for sale. The spirits flight tasting is ridiculously cheap, definitely not charging Las Vegas prices. You can appreciate the woodwork in the room, bar and the piano with history dating back to the 19th century. In the back area where the juice is made you'll here the story of all the blood, sweat and tears that the staff has put in to make this distillery possible. Not only are the spirits handcrafted, so is the room. From building repairs to installation of their stills and mash tuns. Whistling Andy is hands on! They let me taste some spirits right out of the barrel which was super cool and delicious. You can taste the locally sourced ingredients. After much trial and error they have produced some good juices. Thank you Lisa, Brian and the rest of the staff for an unforgettable experience!

Janet P.

Yelp
Visited today with the family who found the tour really informative, having never toured a distillery before. Used a Groupon which was a great deal with a tour and tasting and a free whiskey glass. Had no idea this business was there and never would have stopped without the Groupon. Now will go back again for a drink in the future. Played a little darts too which was fun.

Yelp
We like to stop at Whistling Andy Distillery just to relax with a cocktail in a quiet atmosphere. My favorite liquors are Hibiscus Coconut Rum, Cucumber Gin, Cherry Cello and the IPA beer distilled in an oak cask, I think they call it Hops Schnapps. However, my husband likes their Bourbon and Whiskey. We enjoy the tour so much we have gone three times. It is very informative and the distillers are very informative and friendly. They have changed things, so it is interesting to see what is new. Visiting Whistling Andy is well worth your time.

Yelp
We were visiting the parent's vacation home and we found this place by accident on a walk at the end of the street where they live. It is in a building just behind the car wash so it doesn't jump out at you. What a find! They have great tastings and it is worth a stop!

Just D.

Yelp
HIBISCUS COCONUT RUM!!!!!!!!! Wow, yum, delicious, and did I mention how tasty this stuff is? Who would have thought hibiscus coconut rum from Montana? Also love the mixed drink I tried, something with lemon juice, rum and almond. Not to be missed in Bigfork.

Amanda N.

Yelp
we couldn't believe we had driven past this place multiple times and not seen it! We opted to get a tasting flight and cocktail each. Lots of different whiskey, gin, kirsch, rum and their special beer schnapps. everyone was amazing. the peach gin and cucumber gin were the best ive ever had. and the beer schnapps is one of a kind! just mind blowing. the staff are welcoming and love to talk about what they do. cant wait to bring our friends to this place on our next trip down.
