Whistling Bird

I went to Whistling Bird twice for their Happy Hour & it was AMAZING. Cool vibes, drink, & food. The $3 specials were delicious. The Rum Punch & Duurti Melissa cocktails were great. We had the Jerk Wings, Grilled Fish Sandwich, and the Beef Sliders. Amazing food.

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights, just a week after hurricane Melissa hit. Our stay was great! Negril had no power or water, but Whistling Bird has it's own generator and self contained water. We were very comfortable during our stay, as the staff is amazing! We were served a delicious breakfast and dinner everyday! Chef Ann is the best and she made all of our Jamaican faves! Ronika took excellent care of us as usual, too! They are both always smiling, along with the rest of the staff :) We always feel like family at Whistling Bird.

Pros ------ * Unique boutique hotel resort * Nice beach with shade * Few people on beach * Wheelchair accessible * Comfortable clean 3 star rooms * Great restaurant onsite and many nearby * Incredible masseuse * Excellent friendly staff and wonderful service * Fantastic location central to beach Cons (few and minor in nature) -------- * Slightly officious security guard during the day, with his command of chairs * Water pressure and temperature varies but typically Jamaican * No TV * Internet can be temperamental * Broken loungers * Construction onsite and next door but not disturbing * Nearby loud music Overall ... highly recommend this beautiful little resort.  There are many repeat customers.  You too will soon be family.

The Whistling Bird was absolute perfection! My husband and I stayed there for a week for our honeymoon and it was exactly what we were hoping for! A cozy, rustic little cottage nestled in so much beautiful greenery. It's not your typical resort - which we were very happy about. The staff was absolutely lovely, very helpful and friendly. We ate breakfast and dinner there almost every night and everything was truly delicious, and affordable! We also loved that our area of the beach wasn't crowded. Super low key but inviting at the same time for anyone who wanted to dine or drink there. There's also a little beach kitty named Papaya that we fell in love with. The security guard Milton was very helpful and gave us tips on what to do / not to do and what to be on the lookout for in the area. We appreciated him so much. They also have a bar called the Seagrape Bar with some swings and the sweetest bartender. If you're looking for a quiet getaway that allows you to relax but offers so much hospitality - this is the place for you. My husband and I will be back without question. I don't think we would ever want to stay anywhere else in Negril!

I don’t give businesses one-star ratings lightly, but this time I feel that I need to, and might adjust if I get a response from Whistling Bird. I have been trying to email and call both the US toll-free number and the local number, and even reach out on Instagram to ask about the rooms, but no one picked up the phone, answered emails or responded on social media. I cannot imagine how guests can get a hold of them in case of emergency or delayed flights. For a business, this is not acceptable.

We were really confused before we went on vacation to Negril Jamaica as to where we should stay. A friend of ours recommended Whistling Bird Resort. Our stay was beyond what we ever expected. The cottages are cute cozy and very comfortable and clean. The food prepared by Chef Brown was fantastic. Never had a bad meal Miss G and Miss Bavra took care of our every need. From serving us to preparing delicious drinks. As for Milton he kept anyone from bothering us on the beach.( Lots of people selling things) We enjoyed all of our day trips with our driver Genius. There are many more that work there and by the time we left we felt like family. We are already planning on going again next spring. Calvin the owner and his staff made our vacation the best

Great place to stay and feel like a local. The staff are extremely genuine and invested in your safety and satisfaction. It was great feeling like someone was looking out for me in a new place! Right in the middle of the 7 mile beach in Negril Jamaica with amazing views. One of the only spots with great shade and privacy on the beach. Certified massage therapist on the beach. Melt away listening to the ocean. Free WiFi. And Papaya the local cat is great company. Home away from home! Will be back soon!

Please note that I did not stay here, just used their facilities (as they have an agreement with The Westender inn). The resort is located on the main Norman Manley Boulevard and to access the beach you walk through a tropical garden. The restaurant looks out at the beach and is pleasant. The staff are very friendly, chatty and helpful. The beach is lovely, so would definitely recommend.
