I had the spicy tamarind shrimp with fried rice. It was so delicious. Even though the shrimp is fried, it is not a heavy batter, and the sauce is so good. The fried rice had a lot of green onion flavor which I love. Waitress was very informative about the menu and very nice. Only slight complaint I have would be the decor. Although I love the relaxed atmosphere you get, the decorations is not very appealing to me on a personal level. It’s very non-existent.

I can't believe that this was my first time trying White Bowl. Why did I wait so long?? We started with the grilled pork spring rolls. Omg, that was one of the best I've ever had. Their dipping sauce is so good. Then, I ordered the grilled pork noodles. Again, the flavors of the noodles and veggies were amazing, and the pork was grilled to perfection. I am definitely going back soon. My wife enjoyed her fried rice, so I need to try that. And we saw an order of the chicken wings that made me want to order them to go. But with all the choices of noodles in Houma, I will keep these at the top of my list when I'm in the mood! If you haven't tried White Bowl yet, what are you waiting for?

Wherever I go, I run back to my first love, Pho, like phoreal. Nothing is better than a hot bowl of beef noodle soup on a rainy day, even if it's 100 degree outside 🤣. I usually get the combination pho with rare beef steak on the side. I add that into the hot broth, so it's cooked just right, medium rare. I love my bean sprouts steamed as well, adds a different texture and not as strong. I sometimes sub some of my noodles for bean sprouts, so it kinda helps with the carbs. My broth was flavorful, there were a ton of meat! They were busy during lunch, but the staff was quick. Very attentive and did an amazing job. Shout out to Gage/Gabe he checked up on me often, really made sure I got everything I needed. He went above and beyond even with how busy the place was. Great asset to the business, very personable and quick.

Google
I found a food to be a very good. The service is good. I thought the food was a little pricey at first when I saw the menu but after they brought the food there's a lot of food.

Google
Acceptable Vietnamese food. Pork and shrimp spring rolls had a couple hard spots on the rice paper, but there were a good number of shrimp in them. Bun bo hue flavor was ok. Not super spicy. It sure of they toned it down after customer feedback. Lots of fried tofu. They don't have Vietnamese sandwiches any more, so don't trust old meni pictures.

Google
The salt and pepper wings were delicious. The best I’ve eaten anywhere

Google
The vermicelli and stir fry curry vermicelli are definitely must haves. The crab ragoons were great as well.

Google
The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested we try the Pho and it was an awesome recommendation. I had Brisket Pho and my friend had Chicken Pho. They both were delicious. Would definitely be eating there again and also recommend it to friends .

Yelp
Amazing authentic food and delicious. The best I've had so far. Great customer service and very knowledgeable of the dishes serve I read them five which is very good.

Yelp
The restaurant is clean with a lot of free parking. I heard the owner has to be up early in the morning to buy fresh ingredients for the day. Come here for lunch and the food is really good even my picky boyfriend likes the fried rice that came with the beef. I also have the fried egg rolls ( not in picture because I was too hungry lol). Usually egg rolls are filled with pork and wrapped with thick yellow wrapper but the egg rolls here are different. The egg rolls are filled with shrimp and crab meat because it near ocean. The wrapper are wrapped with rice paper which are much thinner and that how authentic Vietnamese egg roll supposed to be.

Yelp
I got the chicken pho to go and it was so delicious the broth was so flavorful! they had everything so neat and separated! I'm already craving it again definitely will be back tomorrow:)

Yelp
Grilled pork and fried rice and crispy crab and shrimp spring rolls Yummy! Will def eat here again!

Yelp
Great bun Bo hue. I go here for it at least once per week. Only pho place in the area, so it's a good place to go get that pho fix.

Brooke W.

Yelp
We ordered the crispy crab and shrimp spring rolls, chicken pho, and the birds nest with beef. For being the only pho place in the area this is an excellent choice. We enjoyed all the food and will definitely return. The service was good and the place was nice and clean.

Yelp
Love everything here. Rate steak pho is always my favorite. The food is always ready quickly and I love the take out containers! They do Pho-to-Go perfectly!

Yelp
It's a shame that this is the only place too get pho in houma. The girls who work there always treat me nice , doing their job well. But for some reason I have gotten very undesirable service from a few of the guys who work front of house. I walked in yesterday, approached the cash register, told the guy what I wanted and he just gave me this blank stare for a few moments before shaking his head as if he was stuck in some kind of trance to say "sorry I didn't catch that". Then he didn't provide me with a receipt and asked if I would be okay with just taking $4 of change when I was owed $4.60. I said I would like it all, so he proceeded to count out my 60 cents in all pennies. I've had undesirable experiences with the guys in there the past few times I've been. I Will not be coming back to this restaurant. Pho was pretty good. The vibes didn't feel so great, the guy I mentioned before kept running back and forth from the kitchen while I was waiting on my food, too come slice a paper or two off the roll with his cute little box cutter.

Yelp
Me and my wife walked in to the White Bowl about 3 315 today September 7 . Their was no one in the place but us. We sat down at a table and their were three employees at the bar. Two women sitting and a man with a hat standing in the back it Looked like they were fixing the silverware and they were talking to each other. We were never greeted by anyone. We sat down because the sign said sit anywhere. We were in their a good 3 to 5 minutes before one of the waitresses got up and went get us some menus. We ordered a fried rice dish, two bowels of chicken pho. Well the pho was pretty much tasteless and too salty. The chicken was tough and a little bitter. My wife didn't eat hers and we never got the rice dish we ordered and I think that was a good thing.. I don't think I will be returning any time soon. They need to learn when paying costumers come in to eat at your place you should at least great them because to me you're saying I don't need your business. If the guy behind the bar was the person in charge he needs to go to Pho NOLA on Transcontinental in Metairie and learn some costumer service skills because the couple who owns that place no how to treat people.

Leigh H.

Yelp
Crispy shrimp/crab rolls were good but tiny and not worth the $9. Would not go back. Disappointed
google avatar

Hamid D.

Yelp
This place is very rude don't great you at all and they just look at you standing there so basically you might as well cook your own food and the lady got mad because I was asking for the sandwich whitch they have online and she starting catching a attitude when I said well can y'all take it offline because that's the only reason I came driving 30 min away

Yelp
Very high priced. Food is good, very authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Pho is just what it should be with a great variety. Service was wonderful and dinning area is well kept and clean. I do recommend it.

Yelp
This is a really good place to eat. I like coming here. I like the grilled pork spring rolls and Pho combo is my go to. The service is really good and my waiter was very friendly and made sure I had all I wanted and needed for my meal.

Tyanna S.

Yelp
The food was ok needed a little more flavor the service was super nice so that was a bonus
google avatar

Marlon D.

Yelp
Food juts ok. Too expensive for what it is. I will get the chicken pho. Nothing else. But I will keep coming back.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Only complaint is when I go in one time I didn't tip for a $5 to go order and the girls kept treating me like I didn't exist after wards, even when I returned the days following and actually tipped

Yelp
Authentic food, great service every time. Always greeted with smiles. Bun Bo hue was great.

Yelp
Can I tell you that this place was "licked the plate" good? I thought I would be good on my diet, but I was on a seafood diet here!!! I seen the food, I ate the food!!!! Everything was "finger licking goodness!" We for the White Bowl chicken wings (chili honey glazed) yum yum! And the grilled shrimp spring rolls-filling!!!! And the piece de resistance - the combo meat Bits's nest - which consist of crispy egg noodles with a yummy hoisin/oyster sauce- oh goodness - we made a Happy Plate!!! I usually take pictures but I was stuffing my mouth with yummy food I forgot to take 'Em! That is so not like me! LOL We didn't have room for much after our meal- we shared because the portions were so large - we had no room for dessert! However I did have the Thai Tea with Lychee boba was an amazing combo- this was a new drink for me! We were visiting in Houma but we will definitely come back for seconds!!!!

Yelp
With new ownership this place has seemed to turn around a bit, the pho is more classical and there staff is more knowledgeable of the cuisine presented, I enjoy the combination Pho, shrimp and pork spring rolls with their delicious peanut sauce!
google avatar

Danny Y.

Yelp
I have yet to get into pho. The chicken pho was good but underwhelming. They provide everything you need for the soup like the bean sprouts, hot sauce and sweet/pungent brown sauce.
google avatar

Lex C.

Yelp
Yay! Pho in Houma!!! Moved here from Los Angeles where I lived in Koreatown and ate Pho almost every other day. I was sad to think I wouldn't get it here in Houma and was delighted to see this place and try it out. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food was very fresh and tasty and big portions and the bathrooms are even clean! Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Evy M.

Yelp
The food is excellent! I go as often as I can being that live 45 minutes away. It's worth if you don't mind the horrible service. That's my only complaint. The waitress barely comes around to the table.

Diane A.

Yelp
White Bowl has the best fried rice in Houma. Everything I have tried has been very delicious. The owners may have a bit of a language barrier but they are always very friendly. I say it is a must try!!!

Leslie B.

Yelp
When we had our class reunion a few people ate Dinner and a lot of people laugh deathly ill. We will not be back!
google avatar

Minerva Aniana D.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, friendly staff and yummy Pho. Of course when I go to a Vietnamese place all I want is Pho. I enjoyed my thin beef pho very much. Well prepared, spicy flavor and nice portion options. I will definitely be coming back. Finally a Pho place in Houma. On my way out I got a mango bubble tea that did not disappoint.

Alexis R.

Yelp
It was pretty good, not what I expected. I got the rare steak pho , the cilantro wasn't good in there .
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Absolutely love every time I come here! Great food, great staff, great atmosphere! My favorite is the spring rolls and pho rare steak. The broth in the pho is always delicious. The bubble tea is good for a desert afterwards.

Cody P.

Yelp
Worst shrimp I've had in any place by far. Service was horrible and the wait time was too much for my liking
google avatar

Todd M.

Yelp
As much as I want to like this place, they have done everything they could since the new ownership to drive us away. Slow and forgetful service, waiting 45 minutes for food, missing items from entrees, insisting on serving Bun on a flat plate instead of a bowl were not enough to stop us from eating there a few times per month. Tonight our Salt & Pepper wings were burned and dried. We sent them back requesting a suitably cooked replacement. The kitchen sent the waitress back to the table with the black burned wings to tell us "that's how they come". We canceled our order and left.

Ardi M.

Yelp
Not soo tasty. Needs more flavor. The grill shrimp doesn't look the same as in the pics!! It looks like lightly grill shrimp without seasoning
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Order the pork vermicelli. You'll thank yourself. It's wonderful. They also sell pho.
google avatar

Cammy G.

Yelp
If you want to work somewhere and eat french fries, watch tv, wear shorts and t shirt, and have time to check your phone then this is the place for you! My server did all of the above AND I still paid her a good tip even though I got up once to tear her away from the tv and her french fries and ask for more water. The sign out front says casual dining but I've never been to White Bowl and didn't know the staff took casual so seriously. We picked a place to sit and I looked down because I stepped on crumbs that were all over the floor by the windows. Guess they were too busy the night before or morning of to sweep the floors. Our food and drinks were nothing special to rave about. It was just good. Had plenty leftover to bring home.
google avatar

Aaron O.

Yelp
There's better pho and Banh Mis out there. But it's not bad. Right there in the middle. Servers are nice, it's clean. Food is just ok.
google avatar

Jessie L.

Yelp
This was a good place to come grab lunch. I liked their decor and service. The preparation of food was good. I had meatball pho with grilled shrimp rolls and a boba tea. The spring rolls were good.. very large portion with a crispy noodle in the inside to give a nice crunch. The pho was okay but the broth was not as good as some other places I've been to. The meatballs did not taste good at all in my opinion but I wasn't feeling particularly good and that's why I choose pho for lunch. The meatballs tasted flavorless and maybe prepared without draining the blood as it had that iron taste to it. The reason I give it two stars is the waiters and waitresses were standing around making odd noises very loudly. I wasn't sure what they were doing. My interpretation of it was that they were mocking someone that was mentally retarded. Five grown adults making fun of mentally challenged individuals.......is not funny. Whatever they were doing... I found it incredibly obnoxious. I hurried through my meal so I could leave.

Yelp
Lovely staff, good menu and outstanding special menu! I'm an ex-NYC er and now live in LA and am a huge fan of Vietnamese cuisine ( although you gotta go to Garden Grove for the real V food), so I was thrilled to find this gem in of all places, Houma, LA. while visiting for my niece's wedding. The decor is also well thought out with a nice bar. One suggestion: please put Shrimp wrapped in sugar cane on your menu and please add a hook or a table for purses in the ladies room.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
I previously wrote a bad review. I take it back. This place is awesome again. Pork bird nest was amazing! Ask for the special hot sauce and extra sauce!!
google avatar

Sophie T.

Yelp
My sister and I ordered shrimp spring rolls and shrimp pho. We asked for grilled spring rolls, which did not come grilled. Nonetheless, they were tasty. The pho was super great, and I finally figured out how to fix it perfectly (a squeeze of hoisin sauce, a squeeze of sriracha, sprouts, one jalapeño slice, and a squeeze of lime). We had two waitresses, and the second was much better than the first.
google avatar

Ben N.

Yelp
It's ok. Nothing spectacular. The pork bon mi is tasty. The condiments such as basil and mint are rarely fresh enough.
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
Second time there. Had the fried pho the first time. Terrible, stick with traditional pho and leave the fusion and remakes to Emirel or the Iron Chefs. Second time I got the Pho and it was good but I thought the broth was kinda sweet. Plus side were the bean sprouts were fresh and the roots were removed! My wife does that ...something about cancer forming that she saw on a medical show. Also the mango Bubble drink was good! First time there the waitress didn't grind the ice enough

Tristen N.

Yelp
I went for the first time tonight with my girlfriend. I ordered the potstickers (stuffed with chicken and steamed) they were perfect. For our entrees, I ordered the pho combo and she ordered the chicken pho (our first time ever eating pho) . My pho came with your typical ingredients. Noodles. Scallions. Red onion. Cilantro. Brisket. Meatballs. And steak. And on the side, basal. Bean sprouts. Lime. jalapeno. Hoisin. And siracha. My girlfriend's came with the same stuff except instead of all the meat, just chicken. I can't speak for my girlfriend but my pho was AMAZING. The bowl it comes in was about twice the size I imagined. The amount of noodles was INSANE, yet had the perfect amount of broth for such the amount of noodles. It was good alone, but I added a touch of lime and a lot of bean sprouts. As well as a bit too much siracha and a little hoisin. Even despite the amount of siracha I added, it was great. My only complaint is the texture of the meatballs. It was a bit weird to me. I'm not sure how to describe it though. Overall, the atmosphere was really homey and inviting. They had a few other tables but it wasn't crowded or loud. Our waitress was excellent. She would come by often to check on us. She confidently answered any and all questions we had. The only thing that knocked this from a perfect 5 was the meatballs. Great meal in a great restaurant.

Yelp
I'm so sorry but I don't like the new change at White Bowl. Gone is the sampler platter, one of our favorite things. My wife ordered the crab Rangoon and they arrive burnt. Had to send them back for a redo. Ordered my grand daughter the noodles off of the children menu. We asked for some chicken in it and they upgraded it from a children meal to a full adult meal at 11.00. The nice menus are gone and replaced with a greasy spoon looking menu without updated. The spring roll used to be to die for. Now much smaller and tougher. Staff is great no problems here. I ordered the bun hue no, same as Pho only spicy. It didn't come with the side plate of basil, lime and spouts. My wife had the beef baquet. No much on it for the price. Overall, for 55.00, we didn't feel as we got value for money. Sorry , don't think we will be returning soon.
google avatar

Sebastien R.

Yelp
Really disappointed by the spring rolls. Did not taste right.. the atmosphere is alright, nothing crazy.. but I still feel that it has a "sad" atmosphere.. could do better at this level. Either than this I had their Shaken Steak which actually was really really good ! I really liked it but I think it was bit pricy in general but I would definitely come back and try again.

Yelp
Only place in the Houma area to get Vietnamese food. I received poor reviews from a friend when they tried the food the first time. This was back in the early 2010s. I tried it again recently and it definitely earns a recommendation in my book. Pho was good, Bo Luc Lac (Shaken Steak/Beef) was phenomenal. Try it for yourself.
google avatar

Cody S.

Yelp
Another wonderful experience at White Bowl! With the weather warming up, I opted for the Vermicelli over the Pho. While I love the Pho, the Vermicelli was just what I needed after a long hot day. I decided to get the lemongrass chicken, served over chilled rice noodles and crisp cucumber and lettuce. Highly recommended menu item for a cooler and lighter choice during the summer months!

Yelp
Sooooooo I'm from Northern Virginia (20min from Washington DC) and just moved down to Raceland. Up north we have an abundance of Vietnamese Pho restaurants. I have had my share of pho, Banh mi, and shrimp rolls. We yelped this place in hopes of finding a new pho home. We were greeted at the door and told to have a seer. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and the decor was nice. Let's talk pho: I had the pho shrimp. The broth was amazing! It was perfectly brewed. I added all of my fixings and was in heaven. My daughter and sister both had the pho chicken. There were no complaints from them. Their broth was great as well. Everything came to the table fresh and hot. We also ordered some grilled shrimp rolls. Those were very fresh and tasty! I enjoyed my food. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Cute little place. Came in from a suggestion from a guy working at the mall. Was a little leary, not knowing the area very well. The food was beyond amazing. The waitress was very helpful and gave me a great recommendation and it is my new favorite dish. I saw so many people eating the Pho even though it is 90 degrees outside. Makes me excited to come back and try more things!
