White Clay Resort & Restaurant Coffee Bay

This place is without a doubt the most disgustingly dirty dilapidated accommodation that I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. |The view is phenomenal and staff are friendly, it's such a shame.||Please come here and see that I'm not exaggerating when I tell you EVERYTHING is either moldy, broken, dirty or all of the above. EVERY roof leaks.|I can understand run down, but NOTHING is an excuse for being this dirty, I couldn't make something this dirty on purpose, the tapwater is dark brown. when I asked for new linen (apon check in) because my bedding was so dirty, the owner reassured me that it's not dirty, there's just a cat that comes in through the chimney and sleeps on the bed... ||The photos are extremely misleading and show you 1 cabin that looks halfway decent (in photos not in real life).|We booked for 7 nights, drove here from johannesburg, spent a lot of money on this holiday.. and spent 1 night here, because to top all of this off, white clay is situated in the heart of a township.||There's 0 signal here so we couldn't google to search for alternative accommodation, that's the only reason we even spent a night here.||Don't come here, the photos are a scam and the accommodation is a disgrace, we'd sooner throw that money in the ocean than spend another night in this dump.|The only reason that this place has good reviews is because google removes reviews of people swearing.

Camping in December 2025. Beautiful view. Ocean nice and warm to swim in. Resort needs attention. Ablution block has 2 toilets an 2 showers - for >30 people. Ablution wasn’t clean. Power went off every day.

The location is absolutely stunning, and you can't beat the views. But the accommodation left a lot to be desired. No WiFi, but also no network coverage. The ladies working there are lovely, but are stretched a bit too thin. They only offer breakfast after 8am, as a rule, which is not suited to people travelling for business.

White clay has a fabulous view. Food is great and the owner is humble. We had a great night sleep with no disturbances at all. You wake up seeing the see, sunshine , all at once. It was only one night, but I will never forget it. Thank you to all that is keeping this place alive.

Rob the owner was a great host. White Clay Resort was the only place where we could get meat and we enjoyed a nice meal at the resort.

Beautiful view while camping, best place to recharge, right next to the ocean, the waves ..... beautiful.

I camped here. The campsite is level and has nice lawn. The access to the site is steep, the view is awesome. Restaurant food was good. Ablutions need attention, I did have a hot shower and the Ablutions had been cleaned but attention needed to the doors, etc. Friendly owner and staff.
