Service does not match the price. We were staying in the residences and a housekeeper barged in completely unannounced. No knock, nothing. The next day we made sure to put the do not disturb tag on because my husband had an important business call and they came in not once, but twice. Our keys stopped working and it took us 3 different visits to reception to convince them to replace them. They argued with us and insisted that we just weren't using them right. Even if we were in the wrong, why argue with us? Replacing a key is a simple gesture to make your guest happy. If you are like us and look forward to impeccable service when you spring for a nice hotel, keep looking.

I visited for 2 nights with my girlfriend, and we truly loved this hotel. The grounds and building are beautiful, the room was classy and spacious, and the staff were extremely friendly. They offer coffee and pastries in the lobby every morning, port wine and cheese in the evenings. They have bikes to borrow for free, including helmets. They will also drive you or pick you up from anywhere in town. Lastly, they will let you borrow one of the hotel BMWs for 1-2 hours if you want to test drive it anywhere on the island. Really a great hotel with lots of thoughtful extras.

We have never stayed at a place that was as lovely, in every single way, as this place. We were treated as royalty. The room was beyond all expectation. The room service staff was as kind and helpful as family. The hotel manager was helpful and was doing all she could to make our stay as pleasant as she could. She went BEYOND kindness. We HIGHLY recommend this place!

I'm brOKen.

These people has been calling the wrong number since last year. I didn’t know this was a hotel until I search it up. Every time I answer their calls it’s like a set up for scams. Horrible service even though I’ve NEVER been there. The lady was so rude on the phone thinking she can have her bad day taken out on me. Your snarky attitude will get you fired one day. Get better.

Place has definitely gone downhill since last visit 5y ago. The prices in the summer are almost $1600 per night and do not reflect the quality of service. As an example, they forgot to pick us up at the boat dock. On the trip back, they forgot our departure time and no driver was available, we had to Uber. The rooms remain nice, but design flaws like leaky shower doors and poor hvac kind of ruins the charm. Front desk is poorly trained. The following was overheard as a conversation: Manager:did we forget anyone at the dock Lady: a few people Manager: oh well, maybe better tomorrow Lady: sure I guess Nantucket is expensive in the summer without a doubt, but despite that there are better places to stay than white Elephant village.

I'm a travel agent. I sent a couple there for a 4 day end-of-summer stay with their 3 young children. In the 11th hour of doing their reservation, they told me they actually intended to stay at Martha's Vineyard -- but the die was already cast. The bottom line? They L-O-V-E-D White Elephant Village! They gushed about the place and the great dinner arrangements the concierge desk coordinated for them. THANK YOU for taking such great care of our VIP client. I cannot wait to send another client there.

So here's the secret....The Inn and The Village Residences are separate buildings and facilities. Although you might think it's all one contiguous facility there are differences. We stayed in the residences of the village, however the restaurant is in The Inn. The rooms (Residences) were quite nice with a separate sitting area and gas fireplace separated by a small hallway, a bathroom, and a separate bedroom with a door. Hallways and most of the rooms are painted a bright nautical white. The sheets and beds are quite soft, although for those of you looking for back support, they are not always the best for your spine. The hotel lobby staff was very pleasant and helpful. You'll also find local newspapers, The Wall Street Journal anf the Boston Globe in the lobby of The Inn and Residences along with coffee and lemon flavored water in the morning. For those of you who require a caffeine induced kick every morning please note, there are no coffee makers in the room. That is correct...and almost inconceivable today. If you do want to get dressed and go down to the lobby there is a Keurig machine and the ability to make your own coffee. For those of you who want to wear your robe and snuggle by your fireplace and not see a human being until you've consumed 16 oz of delicious caffeine, you're not in luck. Food all seem to be quite well done and the staff remained attempted from morning to night. At our event in the function area they served Lobster sliders for lunch... delicious! All in, it was a very quaint New England experience with a modern island luxury twist. I'd rate the experience an A.

Yelp
One of the nicest hotels I have ever had the pleasure staying in! We had our own private suite with bedroom, living room, dining/kitchen area, enormous bathroom, washer and dryer, and even our own outdoor space. It was almost like renting our own little nantucket cottage with a private entrance to our suite from the neighborhood outside. The service was impeccable as well as all the little, decadent, included perks. Every morning there are amazing pastries in the reception area. I got an assortment of danishes, croissants, and muffins thinking to just sample a bit. I ate it ALL. Each room gets their own drip coffee and nespresso machine. In the afternoons they set out cookies, and in the early evenings are wine and cheese. There are also complimentary bicycles, which allowed me the chance to check out quite a few of the local beaches and lighthouses nearby. One afternoon we went to the pool and enjoyed our private cabana and snacks, drinks, and even fresh fruit! They even provided us with sunscreen and signed copies of nantucket-y beach reads. Seriously, they've thought of everything. Such a relaxing vacation and I hope to come back one day!

Yelp
so far extreme disappointment we were supposed to met at ferry, we were not.Called hotel and one eventually sent. eventually checked into room which was smaller then any junior suite i have ever seen ( does not even have a closet or a bath) and over 80 degrees. apologies given since AC broken through out the hotel, but they are "working on it" so i guess that's alright mattress does not even cover frame so extreme care needed getting out of bed, painful ankles remind one not to get out of bed casually. upside is it is in Nantucket so we can go elsewhere for a lovely dinner it gets better turns out our suite with 2 rooms and patio (as booked) turns into a small standard room. so short stay made shorter trying to get proper room

Yelp
How can be even possible to be disappointed here? Extremely beautiful environment and view. Great waiting staff with good energy and passion in what they are doing. Sunday brunch is in my opinion the best of the island. Extensive buffet with an impressive sweets choices. You want to try definitely everything. Wine list very extensive as well! Dining at the one of the 2 bars is absolutely interesting especially when you try the loaded bloodymay with the amazing fresh lobster. Delicious and even better if you'll be seating outside maybe in one of the high tables....the gorgeous view and the peaceful environment will make your night delightful. You definitely won't to leave after the sunset and definitely you want to come back over and over...try to believe!

Yelp
I thought I had written a review, but apparently not! This place is top notch, no question about it. I don't even know where to start. First, I did upload pictures from our room which was fabulous. The bathroom alone was to die for. I found a deal on RueLaLa for the White Elephant Village which was $450 for two nights (weekday). We decided to go to Nantucket for our Anniversary, May 1. It was the perfect time, it was still before their peak time so it was not crowded at all...but sadly a lot of places weren't open yet either. But that's ok. We just wanted to relax and explore as we've never been to Nantucket before. After I booked the vacation, I received a phone call from the Concierge offering help with any questions I had before traveling, nice touch! Fast forward to when we arrived. We scheduled a pickup from the ferry (which we didn't realize was literally like a 5 minute walk). But our van picked us up, assisted with bags into the van and also once we arrived at the Inn. We got on the island early and our room was not yet ready - kind of find this hard to believe as it was a Wednesday morning and the place was empty...but whatever. They stored our bags for us, took our phone number and we went off to lunch, gave us a call shortly after and we went back. We officially checked in and one of the workers escorted us to our room. I found this pretty odd, and more awkward than helpful. I can find my room and I know how a keycard works. But whatever, he took our bags and took us up in the elevator to let us into our room and show us how everything works. Now, we're in our 20's...I'm pretty sure we can figure out the remote and AC. I could have done without that. The room was spacious, it overlooked the back patio (could have gotten a nicer view since we were one of the only people staying there and it was our Anniversary...), with a nice big bedroom and huge bathroom. There was also a bottle of champagne in the living room and a box of chocolates in the bedroom for our celebration, that was a nice touch. In the lobby, there is a small gift shop ($$$) as well as a lovely little snack section. They always have some kind of infused water, lemon, orange, cucumber...etc, in the morning they have danish muffins, coffee and espresso (all day). At 4pm (I think it was 4) they put out Cheese & Crackers and Port Wine. They also have an area of games and movies you can rent to entertain yourselves. We wanted to play cards, but they couldn't find their deck, so they literally went out and bought a deck of cards for us! Service! The back patio was nice and secluded to enjoy champagne, snacks and cards. The lobby is beautiful, it's in walking distance to the main street. The front door locks after I believe 10pm and you have to use the key card to enter (as well as the back doors 24/7). I am so happy we booked this Inn at the rate we did. We could not afford this during peak season but definitely know it would be worth it. Bonus to large groups, if you stay in one of the suites, you get a car to drive so you don't have to rent one. They also have a fitness facility right next to the premises. No pools. They do have plenty of bikes free of charge. I give this place 5 stars because it's "as good as it gets"... I didn't feel like we were treated differently because we were younger and the median age of the island is much higher I'm sure. I liked being treated just like everyone else. It makes us want to go back because we weren't shunned. Cons: no pool. no restaurant. The restaurant is at the main White Elephant which is only not even a 5 minute walk down the road. Pros: everything else!

Yelp
Top notch experience. Very helpful and friendly staff. First started with a pick-up from the ferry back to the main office to check in. We couldn't get into our room until 4 so they held our bags for us. They recommended places to explore and eat while we waited. The fresh baked cookies were amazing as well. Our room was more beautiful and spacious than we could imagine. Loved the charm and design. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
From getting a reservation with the lovely Rebecca to check out, a wonderful experience. Feels out of town by the size of the room (huge) but it's right in the middle of it all. Very up to date and stylish, but extremely comfortable. Easy parking, big/excellent bathroom, awesome bed and your own porch to drink the Nantucket Coffee roasters coffee on. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to Nantucket a few times a year for 7 years together and the weekend we spent here was one of the best. While the White Elephant Villages is a little pricier than places we usually stay, but for our anniversary it was WELL worth it. We arrived on the ferry and were picked up by the shuttle. There was only one other couple on the shuttle and we dropped them off at another W.E. property. The driver was super nice and took our bags all the way up to our room. We were early, but were able to check-in early and was actually upgraded to a suite, which was beautiful. A bottle of champagne was waiting for us in our room for our anniversary. We used their bikes a few times to drive out to the brewery and around the island. When we wanted to go to dinner, they offered to drive us in the BMW 7 series. We either took them up on it, or walked as town was 3 minutes away. We hung out by the pool one afternoon and had it pretty much to ourselves (3-4 other people and a life guard). They brought us fruit skewers, smoothies and ice cream as we lounged. We were able to buy cocktails and lunch if we wanted as well. Nantucket Island is one of our favorite place in the world, and the White Elephant Villages is one of the best resorts on the island. We will definitely splurge again in the future.

Yelp
If I could give it less stars I would. The customer service here is terrible. Whatever you do please do not use the concierge service. We were a group of 18 and told that we would have a private room at a local restaurant. Got to our dinner and of course there was no private room. Had a 10am tee time. Guess what we show up at the course no tee time. So disappointed

Yelp
This place was amazing. Top notch service by a very friendly staff. The room wasn't large but elegantly appointed with a spacious bathroom and walk in steam shower. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
We had a phenomenal stay last week at the White Elephant Village. We got a deal on the room but were treated just like the other folks who were paying over $1000/night here (crazytown...but that's Nantucket). Just fantastic service, a staff that is tremendously friendly and made you feel so welcome. Our room was top notch - clean, quiet, great amenities. The location is great and you can walk anywhere, though they'll gladly drive you somewhere nearby and back and forth to the ferry if you'd like. The pool area is also a nice benefit - great space, nice staff there too. Not quite sure when we'll be able to come back but we wouldn't hesitate to return. Can't say enough about this great spot. Hopefully we can get back there in the spring!
