We have skied here every year since 2007. The kid program is great way to get started. Once you get up top the whole world changes. Truly a gem and there is no place like White Grass. The chili isn't bad either.

What started off in the late '50s as a local ski hill has morphed into arguably one of the best XC-ski touring and snowshoeing centers in the east. Not much has changed since that time. There's a restaurant there... buy one of their cookbooks for some really great recipes. All this on about 2,500 acres in the pristine Canaan Valley of WV.

Fun times at white grass with friends. Lodge was packed but trails are so expansive it didn’t feel crowded. Tons of fresh powder when we went last Sunday. Friendly staff including snow covered parking attendants. Reasonable rental prices! Fun to explore cross country and seemed to have lots of options for mode advanced Nordic skiers looking for downhill.

This place is more than a ski center it’s a total vibe. Even if you don’t ski you will enjoy the friendly cafe with a unique local character. It’s like a clubhouse filled with fascinating people and local memorabilia. Chip, who runs the place, is a local legend. Everyone was exceptionally friendly. We are perpetual beginners. The woman at the rental counter did a good job of matching us with gear and was patient. We had a really good time.

We have come up the last two years thanks to Indypass. This place is how skiing should be. It’s a national treasure.

Three wonderful family outings. My kids ages 9 and 11 had an amazing time each visit. They learned to XC ski here and enjoy it even more than lift served skiing, which I think speaks to the exceptional community here and the abundance of energy, caring, and beautiful mountain atmosphere. The food is awesome too! Well done, thankful, and look forward many more visits.

Had a blast XC skiing at white grass. If you're looking for a family friendly activity this winter, definitely check it out. The staff is so kind and willing to help you out. We were lucky that there was some snow left around Christmas to play on. Oh, and make sure to try the food in the lodge...it's absolutely amazing!!!

White Grass is delightful! The staff was friendly and helpful. Two friends and I wanted to try cross-country skiing and needed equipment rentals and access to their trails. They were enthusiastic and provided lots of suggestions for novices like us who were trying it out for the first time. The Snow Farming technique they use instead of making fake snow keeps energy use and therefore their costs low, so we had fun all day on the trails without spending nearly the same as we have on downhill skiing lift passes. When we returned the next day, multiple people remembered us and welcomed us back. The lodge had delicious food and hot cocoa for reasonable prices too. We didn't partake, but they were advertising free or inexpensive snowshoeing and kids activities on Sundays. Fantastic fun for the whole family!
