moved to Ottawa (Vanier) 3 years ago, found out that Wal-Mart is at Trainyards. as i was walking to Wal-Mart, i stumbled upon The Whitehorse Restaurant, decided to go have some coffee as a Pit Stop. thought i’ll probably like the place if i stop by another time, so i did stop by another time & i wasn’t disappointed. this White Horse Restaurant is one of the places i usually come back to, due to their awesome food. fairly large, different varieties of food choices actually but i usually grab the same 3 or 4 same old choices whenever i’m there.
what really surprises me is that it’s a Family Owned/one and only type of restaurant. which makes the place seem that much more special.
they cater to large or small functions & have a note/letter on their menu as well

Good classic food, great service, fair price. Check it out. I finished my breakfast before I thought of taking a picture.

Great place for excellent breakfast. The owner and servers are really polite and kind. Many regular patrons and they are warmly greeted like good friends. The food was good, excellent portions and very affordable. We had the BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato) sandwich, and the two eggs with home fries and corn beef hash and toast, with a tea and coffee (bottomless) and it came to $17.50

On the outside this place looks dated but always has cars in the lot. On a whim my partner and I decided to have breakfast here. I'm so glad we did! Yes, its dated and has mismatched chairs but it feels homey. Staff are friendly and helpful. They give attention to each customer no matter how old or young. The food....so good. Prices are great. Give this place a chance, you wont regret it

I love this place for the cheap breakfast. This is not a place I can bring my wife too, as it looks like a 2-star. That being said, the food is good if you like the basics, club sandwich, and other regular type diner food. Very friendly staff which almost made me put it to four stars. Would I be recommending this? Yes, you won't be disappointed now that you know the star rating that I gave it.

The food was alright - Eggs, fries and burger were good, though the pancakes and syrup used were mediocre. It's a good place for cheap food. A lot of options in their menu. The exterior made it a little uncertain for us to want to enter and the interior is okay.
The waitress was nice and she worked hard, and who I believe is the chef was also nice, however they felt like they were rushing us to order - though I don't believe it was their intention, that was how it made me and a friend feel.
Overall, it was alright, not my first pick to go eat at but it wouldn't be a problem eating there either.

I went here on a whim while doing some errands in the area with my brother and father and had some of the best food I've had in town. It was slow and we got quick service, each of our orders ( a Reuben sandwich, lasagnia, pea soup) were fantastic. The prices are very reasonable and the owner kind and soft spoken. I'll definitely be stopping in here again any time I'm nearby. Don't let the location or size fool you, it's worth it.

I liked this place. It's not great looking on the outside, or inside, but food is inexpensive, delicious and fast. Our food was delivered in less than 10 minutes, which was 3 main dishes. This was awesome because we we're hurrying to catch a train. My omelette was tasty, home fries were lightly done and yummy, French fries were a little oily, but it's French fries, so normal. My friend really liked the baked meaty pasta! Staff friendly and thanked us for the small tip we left! Overall experience was fantastic!
